If Clark and Chloe disappear in the caves, and there's no one there to see it--does it happen? :) We're almost at the war...it's getting tense!

Chapter Hundred and Ninety Seven – Learn to Fly

“Clark wake up… Are you ok?” said Chloe shaking him.

He opened his eyes and looked up to see a concerned Chloe looking at him. “I’m, I’m ok,” he said, getting to his feet. “What happened?”

“Welcome to the freaky world of stupid ancient demons and the stupid a freaky way they have of telling you things,” said Chloe.

Clark smiled and looked around. They were in a cave, a brightly lit cave and one he couldn’t seem to see through. He concentrated harder but it was no use, his x-ray vision just wasn’t penetrating this particular rock.

“What do we do now? Just wait…”

“Unless you can break through that rock waiting is all we can do,” sighed Chloe.

“I can’t even see through them with the x-ray vision,” he admitted.

“I am so sick of all this,” muttered Chloe, sliding to the ground. She leaned her head back against the wall and sighed.

“I don’t blame you,” said Clark sympathetically, sitting down beside her.

“I wonder if everything went smoothly with the plane,” she said a moment later. She had tried contacting Lex but to no avail, and her cell-phone wasn’t working either.

“I’d say it did. Lionel Luthor strikes me as someone who has all his plans go smoothly,” chuckled Clark. He leaned his head back and looked up at the ceiling. “Hey what’s that?”

Chloe opened her eyes and look up at where he was pointing.

“It looks like… a drawing,” she said.

They both jumped their feet and moved to the centre of the room. They looked up again and gasped when it appeared that the ‘drawing’ had gotten bigger.

Once again the golden light seemed to envelop them.

“It looks like the demon Oliver is,” gasped Chloe, pointing to one of the figures.

“And that’s seems to be two people fighting him,” added Clark.

“It’s Lex and I,” exclaimed Chloe. “Look…”

Clark studied the figures harder and could see that Chloe was right. The two figures were she and Lex.

“Whoa,” he said a moment later as the picture moved…

The sentiment was matched by Chloe as the watched the drawings of Lex, Chloe and the demon fight.

“What the hell is that?” said Chloe pointed at the edge of the drawing.

“It’s a bird… or it could be a plane?” said Clark, his voice unsure.

“It’s a person,” cried Chloe as they watched the person ‘fly’ into the battle, land and then grab Oliver. The scene then showed what it looked like Chloe and Lex getting ready to strike before the drawing vanished. The room glowed gold and there was a bright flash of light… Seconds later Chloe and Clark found themselves at the original entrance to the caves.

“That is such a crock,” said Clark angrily. “We don’t know what happened…”

“The key,” murmured Chloe. “Byron said you were the key Clark. I think we’ve just watched what is to be the final battle. And from the looks of things *we*don’t seem to be winning, until *you* come into the picture… literally,” she turned and grinned at Clark.

“I hate to burst your bubble Chlo,” said Clark. “But that person *flew* into the battle in our little mini-movie. I am capable of a lot of things, but flying in NOT one of them.”

“You don’t know that Clark. You’ve told me that you discovered most of the various things you could do by accident. How do you know you can’t fly?”

“Because… I… And then…” Clark stuttered.

“And they are all very valid reasons Clark,” said Chloe sarcastically. “Byron called you the key… And what we’ve just seen seems to corroborate that. You help Lex and I deliver the final blow by flying in and restraining Oliver. And all we need to do now is get you flying.” She stared at Clark.

“No,” he said a moment later.

“What? I didn’t say anything.”

I know how your mind works Chloe Sullivan and the answer is no. I am not jumping off a tall building and seeing if I fly.”

Why not?” she retorted. “It’s not like you’ll hurt yourself if you plummet to the ground. Anyway it doesn’t have to be a really tall building.”

“We should head back to the castle,” said Clark as he walked away.

“The small stable at the back of the estate,” said Chloe following him.

“No…”

“The turret on the first floor,” she said.

“I said no Chloe…”

--------------------------------------------------

After Sergi confirmed to them that the plane had been taken care of Karl, Elena and Heike set about destroying all the evidence they had gathered. All the reports and press clipping from the massacre at the prison were shredded and then thrown in the furnace. The details on the mystic used plus the papers about the warehouse, Jurgen and the places he frequented and the maps all went the same way as the prison details. The computers and laptop were wiped clean their hard disks destroyed.

The small house was cleaned from top to bottom. By the time they finished there was no trace left of there ever having been anyone, human or vampire living there. They had also destroyed and disposed of the cell-phones they had been using and all purchased new ones.

All three left the house and headed for a small hotel on the outskirts of the town. Here all three sat waiting for further orders from Smallville.

--------------------------------------------------

By the time Chloe and Clark had made it back to the castle and relayed what they had seen to the others, Clark was seriously considering jumping off a building. When Chloe explained her theory all eyes turned to Clark and suddenly jumping out of the window and flying off seemed a *very* good idea.

“I can understand that you are very sceptical about this Clark,” said Lillian. “But I think Chloe’s theory is correct. As with everything we’ve faced in this war with Oliver, you are the unknown entity. Having you *fly* in to assist in the final slaying makes perfect sense,” she smiled at him.

“That figure could have been a vampire. Can’t you fly as well?” said Clark.

“Not in the literal sense,” said Sergi. “We can use the wind to our advantage and glide for a moment. It does look like we are flying but in reality we are not.”

Clark looked around the room, and sighed deeply.

“You have already helped us a great deal Clark,” said Lionel. “And your job in Germany, which will be happening in a matter of days is vital to our success. As I have always said to you through all of this the final decision to help is ultimately yours. No *one* will think any less of you if you refuse. All I ask is that you think about it.”

Clark looked at Chloe who was smiling at him and then back to Lionel. “You’re very good at that Mr Luthor,” he said with a smile. “I will think about it.”

“Good, good,” smiled Lionel. “Now, Lillian, Natasha, Lex, would you join me in my study please? You too Sergi.”

Clark headed over to Chloe as the others left the room.

“Sorry,” she said. “I didn’t mean to make you the centre of attention.”

“It’s ok,” Clark replied sincerely. “Well come then, let’s see if this farm boy can fly…”

“What? Are you sure?”

“I’m sure about giving it a try. I’m still not 100% sure that I can though,” he grinned. “But I’d rather make a fool of myself trying in front of you than any of the others.”

“Ok,” grinned Chloe. “We’ll head out the back. There are stables plus a couple of large barns that will do for starters.”

--------------------------------------------------

“Clark Kent flying in to help Lex and Chloe destroy Oliver… You have got to be kidding me,” laughed Lucas as Alyssa told him the latest news.

“No, that’s the bombshell we have for you at the moment. In fact I think he and Chloe have headed out to see if it’s true.”

“Man I’d love to see that. Been a while since I saw someone plummet,” gasped Lucas as he laughed.

“Don’t be like that Lucas. Clark is very uncomfortable about the whole thing,” admonished Alyssa.

“I bet he is… I bet he was literally squirming as everyone stared at him. Damn why do I miss all the good stuff?”

“That’s very mean Lucas. You just wait and see, he’ll be able to do it and then I’m going to tell him to drop something on your head from a great height,” snapped Alyssa.

“Ah, I’m sorry did I say bad things about your boyfriend,” he said in a childish voice.

“How’s Tuyla Lucas?” asked Alyssa, smirking at him over the web-cam. “I hear *you* took her to the airport to meet Oliver’s contact. And what was it I heard you did… Ah yes, you took her for something to eat… how very sweet of you…”

Lucas narrowed his eyes and stared at her. “Truce?” he said a moment later.

“Thought you’d never ask,” she replied. “Bye Lucas…”

“Bye,” he muttered and disconnected the camera. ‘Damn, I taught Alyssa far too well,’ he thought afterwards…with a hint of pride.

--------------------------------------------------

“I feel like an idiot,” shouted Clark as he stood on the barn looking down.

“If it’s any help you don’t look like one,” Chloe shouted up at him.

“Oh yes, that’s a great help, thanks Chloe,” he replied sarcastically.

He stood on top of the main barn at the back of the estate. It was about twenty-five feet from the ground. Chloe had wanted him to try something taller but Clark said he would feel better on this. He had fallen this distance before and not hurt himself.

“Well, what are you waiting for?” asked an impatient Chloe a few minutes later. “I can come up there and push you if you want?”

“Gee, thanks Chloe that’s very generous of you.” He again stood looking down at the ground. “Come on Clark, you can do this,” he muttered to himself. “Just fall off… and what? Flap my arms…” he let out a sarcastic laugh.

“Clark, if you’re not ready or feeling confident don’t do it. It’s ok,” said Chloe.

“No, I’m good,” he called back. “Just psyching myself up…”

“Can I make a suggestion?”

“Sure.”

“I think you need to be higher. If you freefall off the barn you know you’re going to be ok if you hit the ground. I think you really see if you can fly you need to be falling off something much, much higher,” said Chloe.

Clark sighed he knew Chloe was right. Falling from here would be a piece of cake and he doubted he’d even try to fly.

“Where do you suggest?” he said, already knowing the answer.

“Up there,” said Chloe pointing at the highest point of the castle.

“Never would have guessed there,” muttered Clark as he jumped to the ground.

“See, that barn was a pathetic place to try,” grinned Chloe when he landed beside her.

“When I crash through the ground I get to keep telling you ‘I told you so’ for the next fifty years,” said Clark. “Deal?”

“Fine, fine,” said Chloe, rolling her eyes. “Just get up there Kent…”

--------

Ten minutes later Clark stood on the highest turret of the Luthor castle. He had to admit the view was amazing. Although when he looked down the view was decidedly more nauseating.

--------

Alyssa had joined Chloe outside and the two girls stood looking up. Chloe couldn’t really make Clark out but Alyssa could.

“He doesn’t look so good,” she commented.

“He’ll be ok,” said Chloe, although she didn’t sound very convinced.

“Of course he will,” said Alyssa. “Anyway if he plummets to the ground I’ll catch him… I hope.”

“Stop it Alyssa… I’m already feeling way guilty,” cried Chloe.

--------

Taking a deep breath Clark moved closer to the edge. “I can do this,” he muttered. “I can do this…”

He repeated the mantra as he stepped off the ledge…

--------

“Oh my god,” cried Chloe, her hand flying to her mouth as she just about made out the figure falling from the turret.

“He’s falling pretty fast…”

Chloe glared at Alyssa, but the young vampiress just grinned at her.

--------

“I so cannot fucking do this,” cried Clark as the ground met him very quickly.

“COME ON,” he screamed, closing his eyes and urging his body to do… something, anything.

Then he felt it… a shift within him… He felt lighter. Clark opened his eyes and gasped out loud as he saw that he was gliding.

“WAY TO GO KENT,” shouted Chloe jumping up and down waving at him. Alyssa was shouting and jumping as well.

Concentrating Clark stretched his arms out in front of him and pushed. It had the desired affect and he moved faster. He swooped down towards the girls and floating in the air above them.

“I’m flying Chlo… flying…” he said, laughing.

“I told you so,” smirked Chloe, winking at him.

“Well done Clark,” smiled Alyssa.

Clark grinned at them then shot up into the air and then flew back down. He grabbed Chloe in one arm and Alyssa in the other before soaring up again.

Both girls screamed and held on tight to him. But soon the screams turned to laughter and Clark flew through the air with them in his arms.

--------

Lionel, Lillian and all the others stood looking out the window as Clark flew around.

“We are ready now, everything is in place,” he said. “Call Karl, tell him to prepare for your arrival Lillian. It’s time from the beginning of the end of Oliver…”

There were murmurs of excitement from the others in the room.

I love the fact that they have the relationship that they have. Clark is way smarter in this version than he has ever been before. And sarcastic...and well he did learn it from a great teacher.

Ten minutes later Clark stood on the highest turret of the Luthor castle. He had to admit the view was amazing. Although when he looked down the view was decidedly more nauseating.

I love that Clark needs to fly in order to help with the battle. His and Chloe's banter about the topic was perfect and she so would have pushed him if that's what he needed. Lucas needs some fun and fast, poor guy. How exactly would Lex feel with the knowledge that Clark took Chloe flying? Still so very nervous about this whole war.

Chapter Hundred and Ninety Eight – Leaving Normal

After Clark had flown around with the girls for about an hour, he circled around once more and then landed perfectly. He was buzzing with an excitement he had never felt before… it was amazing. Chloe and Alyssa had to hold him back from taking off again.

“You can fly around as much as you like after we talk to the others,” Chloe had said taking his arm and pulling him towards the main door.

An exhilarated Clark eventually allowed himself to be directed inside where they were immediately greeted by Lex and the others.

While everyone questioned Clark and Chloe, Alyssa practically ran to the computer to tell Lucas the news all the while shouting to Lillian and Lionel for them not to ‘say’ anything to their youngest son. As she ran off her parents shared a knowing grin.

Lionel led everyone to the dining room where Clark and Chloe babbled excitedly about Clark’s flying.

“You need to learn some control,” quipped Lex. “Especially if you’re going to carry Chloe around like that.”

“Don’t mind him Clark…. I thought you did exceptionally well for your first time flying,” said Chloe. “I’m sure if Lex could fly he wouldn’t have done half as good.” Although she didn’t actually do it, everyone picked up the implied sticking out of her tongue.

‘Be very careful my dear,’ Lex *said*. ‘Or you may find yourself flying at our dinner later…’

‘Promises, promises,’ was Chloe’s reply, earning a laugh from Lex.

“With this great news,” said Lionel, smiling at Clark. “We are ready to go for Oliver. Lillian and Natasha have the spell perfected… Clark now realises his own strength and is not afraid to use it. Karl has been contacted and is putting together the preparations for your arrival.”

“So when exactly do we go?” asked Clark.

“As soon as Karl confirms Oliver’s schedule and we know when exactly he will be at the warehouse, you go,” said Sergi.

“So we won’t be getting much notice then,” sighed Clark.

“Not really,” said Lillian sympathetically.

“Do you need me for anything else?” asked Clark. “Because if not, I’d like to head home if I’m going to be taking off at a moment’s notice I’d like to spend some time with my folks.”

“Of course you do,” said Natasha. “You head home Clark.”

“Be careful flying,” said Chloe as Clark left the room.

“Dad, do you need Chloe and I for anything?” asked Lex.

“Not tonight I don’t,” replied Lionel. “Have you got plans?”

“Chloe and I are going to dinner,” said Lex. “But it can be cancelled.”

“You will do no such thing. Our plans are accelerating and the final battle is almost upon us,” said Lionel. “Go out, enjoy yourselves, it may be the last time you get a chance too until this is over.”

“Excellent,” grinned Chloe, sharing a look with Lex. She had been hoping that they wouldn’t have to cancel their plans. She had a small intimate restaurant table and a room at the nearby hotel booked. On Lex’s instructions they were going to enjoy themselves and forget about the doom and gloom for a night.

“Go,” said Lillian. “If anything comes up, we will contact you.”

“Thanks,” smiled Lex and grabbing Chloe’s hand they left the room.

--------------------------------------------------

An hour later Chloe and Lex were in his Ferrari and heading towards the restaurant. Chloe had dressed up for the dinner wearing a deep wine dress. It fell just above her knee and was low enough in the front to show a generous amount of cleavage.

Lex chose a light grey suit with a black shirt, opened at the neck.

“Here’s to no urgent calls back to the castle,” said Chloe lifting his hand and kissing his knuckles.

“I’ll second that,” grinned Lex.

When she let go of his hand he rested it on her knee, rubbing the flesh gently. Feeling the warmth of her skin through the sheer stockings she was wearing.

“This is nice,” sighed Chloe. “It’s been a while since we went out on a date… This could almost be another first date for us.”

“Oh is that was this is, a date.”

“Yes… so you better behave yourself. There are certain procedures that need to be followed and certain levels of decorum to be observed. This is a first date of course.”

“Why? Are you not that *kind* of girl,” smirked Lex. He kept his eyes on the road as his hand slid higher up her leg.

“I most certainly am not that kind of girl,” said Chloe in mock-indignation as she slapped his hand away. “But if you are a perfect gentleman for the evening you may get a kiss goodnight.”

“Well, with that for an incentive I shall endeavour to be on my best behaviour,” laughed Lex.

--------------------------------------------------

Forty-five minutes later a waiter determined to fawn over them as much as humanly possible shows them to their table. Although Chloe had booked the table and the hotel room in her name the moment Lex was spotted the bowing and scraping was turned up.

‘The waiters probably drew straws to see which one served us,’ Chloe said to Lex. ‘They are probably expecting a big tip.’

“Thank you,” she smiled at the waiter as he held out her seat for her.

When both were seated he handed them a menu each and began talking about the specials.

“We'll have a bottle of champagne while we decide what we want to eat,” interrupted Lex eager for him to go away.

“Very well Mr Luthor,” said the waiter and scuttled off.
Chloe lowered her head and smiled while looking at the menu. “Behave,” she murmured.

“I’m behaving,” he said innocently. “Oh no, here he comes again…”

“Your champagne sir,” announced the waiter setting the stand with an ice bucket in it beside the table. He took out the bottle of champagne and held it out to Lex.

“That’s fine,” he said not really looking at the label.

The waiter opened the bottle, complete with customary ‘pop’ and poured a glass for both Chloe and Lex.

“Thank you,” said Lex, “we’ll call you in a minute to order.”

“Very well sir, madam,” said the waiter and left them alone.

Lex held up his glass, as did Chloe. “To first dates,” he smirked.

“And to even better second ones,” added Chloe and they both took a sip.

--------------------------------------------------

Just over an hour later Chloe was savouring her strawberry and chocolate dessert. They had just opened their second bottle of champagne and had managed to spend the meal talking about everything but the impending war. Lex told her about all the places in the world he was going to take her, and usually each place was accompanied by an amusing story about him and Lucas… Mainly Lucas!

“Enjoying that,” he asked as she hummed in delight after taking another bite.

“It’s really, really good,” said Chloe licking some chocolate from her lip. Inwardly she grinned as Lex narrowed his eyes and focussed on her lips. Very slowly she ran her tongue over her full bottom lip.

“Chloe,” he growled softly, gold bleeding into his eyes for a moment.

“Yes?” she asked innocently. She scooped up another piece pf cake and brought it to her lips. She took it into her mouth and then ran her tongue over the fork.

Lex shifted his chair a little closer and rested his hand on her leg.

“Mr Luthor, behave yourself,” she admonished good-naturedly.

Lex leaned forward and kissed her gently, running his tongue over her lips tasting chocolate and strawberry. His hand moved under her dress and rested on her thigh.

“This is not you behaving yourself,” she said softly.

“Still got my kiss though,” he grinned, sliding his hand higher. Chloe spread her legs a little. “That is not the behaviour of someone who is not that kind of girl,” he whispered against her lips.

“Move your hand higher,” she said, kissing him gently.

Lex obeyed and groaned against her lips when he *felt* that she was wearing no underwear. “I love this kind of behaviour,” he moaned, cupping her groin.

Chloe was glad their table was out of the way and since delivering her dessert the waiter had stayed away. Although she guessed that the whispered conversation Lex had with him attributed to that. Her legs parted further as Lex stroked her nether lips.

“We…we need to get out of here,” she moaned softly as his fingers moved with more purpose.

“Why?” he whispered in her ear. “Don’t you like the idea that at any moment someone could catch us? They could walk around the corner and see you with your legs spread and my fingers in you…” He ran his tongue over the shell of her ear.

Chloe bit her lip to prevent the whimper escaping. “Please Lex,” she whispered, moving her hips very slowly.

Lex grinned and after giving her ear lobe a quick nip pulled away slowly sliding his fingers from her.

Chloe groaned as she watched him lick his fingers

“Cheque please,” he called out.

Less than a minute later the waiter arrived with the bill. Lex didn’t even bother looking at it just handed his credit card to the waiter who disappeared. While he was gone Lex captured Chloe’s lips in a deep wet kiss. They were still kissing when the waiter came back, and it was only him loudly clearing his throat that led Lex to releasing Chloe’s mouth, albeit very slowly.

“Can you sign here please Mr Luthor,” asked the waiter holding out the receipt for him to sign.

Lex took it and fished a pen from his pocket. He quickly signed it and handed the receipt back to the waiter.

“Thank you sir,” he said, handing Lex back his credit card and his receipt copy. “I hope everything was to your satisfaction…”

“It was perfect,” said Chloe, smiling at Lex.

Lex turned to face the waiter. He put his hand into his pocket and took out about five $50 bills. “Well if the lady was happy with everything then I’m happy,” he said handing the bills to the waiter.

“Thank you sir,” beamed the waiter looking down at the bills.

Lex rolled his eyes and took Chloe’s hand. And just as they were exiting the restaurant they heard the waiter running up to his workmates and bragging about his tip.

--------------------------------------------------

The moment Lex and Chloe entered the elevator Lex pushed her up against the wall and kissed her hard. He reached out his hand and pressed the button for the penthouse suite. The doors slid closed just as Lex was cupping Chloe’s breasts in his hands.

“Impatient,” panted Chloe when he released her mouth.

“Just a little,” he smirked as he dropped to his knees and slowly pushed her dress up her thighs.

Chloe stared down at him in anticipation as he parted her thighs. “We’re almost at the penthouse floor Lex…”

“Can’t wait,” he growled and buried his face between her legs.

“Oh god,” she groaned. She flung out one hand and grabbed the panel while the other hand found the back of Lex’s head and she held him against her sex.

His tongue laved the wet puffy lips of her sex. He swirled his tongue around, savouring her taste. Chloe whimpered as her legs began to shake. The elevator had come to a stop and the door would have opened had Chloe not got her hand on the ‘close door’ button.

“I love how you taste,” he growled, parting her nether lips with his fingers. “So sweet,” he sucked her swollen clit into his mouth.

Chloe groaned, a sheen of sweat breaking out over her body. Her breasts felt hot and heavy, her nipples pushing against the material of her dress… Her sex throb and jolts of pleasure shot through her every time Lex’s tongue brushed over her clit.

The elevator ‘binged’ as it tried to open its doors.

“Lex… Please,” she groaned.

Lex slid two fingers inside her, using them and his tongue to drive her wild. Chloe clasped the back of his head tighter, pushing him. Her fingers flexed across the back of his head as she gasped and moaned.

Lex pulled back, her juice dropping over his lips and chin. He continued working his finger s harder and faster in and out of her hot, wet pussy. Chloe’s head was thrown back, her eyes closed and mouth opened as she panted his name. Lex groaned at the sight she presented. His cock felt hard and heavy as it strained against his pants. His eyes dropped to her sex again. He *needed* to be inside her, but not here in this elevator. His fingers moved faster and he rubbed her clit with his thumb. He could feel her inner muscles clenching around his fingers and knew she was close.

Vamping out he grazed his fangs along the inside of her thigh.

“Oh fuck,” she cried, her nails digging into his head.

Pulling his head back a little, Lex then launched forward sinking his fangs into her thigh. Chloe cried out his name as her orgasm exploded from her. Lex sucked her blood as she came over his hand, her juices gushing out. A few seconds later he removed his fangs and latched onto her pussy, drinking her down.

Chloe slumped, her legs giving out. The elevator door finally opened as her hand slid away from the control panel. Lex gave her glistening sex one last lick before standing up and pulling a boneless Chloe into his arms, his face shifting back to human.

“Wow,” she whispered as she kissed him gently, tasting her blood and cum on his lips.

“That was just the appetizer,” he smirked, scooping her into his arms and exiting the elevator.

--------------------------------------------------

They had barely got the door to their room slammed shut when Chloe pushed Lex against it and kissed him hard. She pulled back a moment later and practically ripped her dress in her haste to get it off. Lex had no chance to admire the naked body of his mate before she was on her knees tearing his pants open.

“Yes,” hissed Lex, vamping out as his cock sprung free and was engulfed by Chloe’s warm mouth.

Lex shrugged out of his jacket and shirt as Chloe worked her mouth and tongue over his cock. Chloe released him and slid her hand up and down as she looked up at him. His golden eyes stared at her as he moaned her name.

“I need you in me Lex,” she whispered, “now…”

With a growl Lex pulled her to her feet and crushed her mouth with his. Chloe kissed him back with as much ferocity. They walked backwards towards the bed. And when Chloe felt the bed hit the back of her knees she released Lex’s mouth and fell back, kicking off her shoes and spreading her legs wide.

With a groan Lex tore the rest of his clothes off, his eyes fixed on her glistening and dripping sex. His eyes moved up her body, over her breasts, with their nipples pointed upwards, up the smooth column of her neck before resting on her face. Chloe smiled sexily at him and held out her arms.

Lex moved between her legs and settled himself on top of her and their mouths met. Tongues stroked wildly and their bodies rubbed together. Chloe’s nipples scraped against his chest. She widened her legs and both groaned as his hard cock bobbed against her pussy.

“Please,” she moaned into his mouth.

Bracing himself on one arm Lex reached between their bodies and grabbed his cock. Pumping it a couple of times he positioned it at Chloe’s entrance and pressed forward… burying himself inside her.

Chloe latched her mouth onto his neck and bit gently on her mark as she tightened her legs around him. Lex began moving inside her with powerful thrusts. He placed his hands either side of her head and pushed up on his arms. Chloe moved her head back and stared at him as he moved his hips hard. The bed shook each time his cock slammed into her. Chloe reached behind her and held onto the headboard with one hand while the other arm curled around Lex’s neck.

“Don’t close your eyes,” he panted, moving harder and faster as her eyes began to flutter shut.

Chloe struggled to keep them open as jolts of pleasure shot through her body.

Lex fucked her harder and Chloe cried out his name with each thrust. Their eyes were still locked but a moment later a particular hard thrust from Lex hit something inside Chloe and she closed her eyes and screamed her release. Her orgasm took her by surprise and her whole body shook.

The pressure of her contracting pussy was too much for Lex and with a roar he came inside her. Wave after wave of pleasure shot through his body as they rode out their climaxes.

A couple of minutes later Lex collapsed to the side and pulled Chloe tight to him. Their bodies still joined. He kissed her slowly.

“I love you,” he murmured when he released her lips.

“I love you too,” she replied.

They lay there for a few more minutes and then Chloe groaned as she felt Lex harden inside her again.

“That was the first course,” he said rolling into his back and taking Chloe with him.

“Ah, so it’s time for the second course then,” she said breathlessly as she sat up on him shifting her hips and feeling him move in her. “And how many courses can we expect?”

“I’m thinking at least five and then dessert,” grinned Lex sliding his hands up and cupping her breasts.

“Five sound good to me,” she sighed as began moving her hips. And once again they forgot about the impending war and made love.

I'm glad that Lex was appropriately worried about Chloe when she was flying with Clark and that Chloe teased him.

The dinner scene was very funny and I loved that Lex wanted nothing more than to get rid of their waiter.

The smut was the best part. The elevator scene was steamy and then again in the hotel bed. Appetizer, five courses and a dessert, yep I am jealous of Chloe.

Chapter Hundred and Ninety Nine – All Systems Go…

When Chloe and Lex arrived back at the castle they found it a hive of activity. Quickly they sought Lionel and Lillian out. They were in the ‘war room’, along with everyone else.

“What’s going on?” asked Lex. “Has there been news?”

“Yes,” said Lillian. “Karl called a few hours ago. Apparently the warehouse is all a tizzy. Cars and vans are arriving with what looks like *new recruits* for his army. And from what he could make out from the conversations he eavesdropped on it looks like Oliver will be arriving to spend a few days at the warehouse.”

“Why weren’t we told immediately?” asked Lex.

“Because it wasn’t important enough to spoil your and Chloe’s time together. We knew you would be back today,” said Lionel. “And now that you’re here, I have work for you both. Chloe can you call Clark and have him get over here as soon as possible. Take him to the training room; Sergi and I will join you there momentarily.”

“Right on it,” said Chloe with a grin. She gave Lex’s hand a quick squeeze and took off, taking her cell-phone out as she exited the room.

“Son, you work with Nik and Alyssa in assembling the troops so to speak. I want *everyone*, no matter where in the world they are to be ready to converge on Karnak at a moment’s notice. Stress to them the importance of being prepared and if they are not 100% sure then they are not to bother showing up. At the final moment we will not need an indecisive warrior. I think the call to arms coming from a Luthor should be enough of a warning that things are serious.”

“If they don’t believe that a war is upon us now they’ll never believe it,” murmured Lex as he joined Nik and Alyssa.

Lionel chuckled and headed over to his wife who was talking with Lucas and the others in Karnak.

--------------------------------------------------

Clark was at the castle in record time following Chloe’s call. She met him at the main door and together they walked to the training room. Waiting for them, was Lillian.

“I thought Lionel and Sergi were meeting us,” said Chloe.

“They will be along soon,” replied Lillian. “I wanted to talk to Clark first.”

“Is everything ok Mrs Luthor?” asked Clark.

“Would you like me to leave?” asked Chloe.

“Everything is fine Clark. And you can stay if you want Chloe,” said Lillian. “Clark, over the next few hours we will be finalising the plans for our trip to Germany. And at the end of that you, Natasha and I will be heading there. I want to tell you that I’m putting a guard on your parent’s farm just to make sure they’re looked after.”

“Thanks Mrs Luthor.”

“Also, if you like, I can place a spell on them so that they think you’re still around… doing chores etc. Now you don’t have to say yes… I don’t know what you have and have not told them. It’s just a suggestion.”

Clark looked at her for a moment… “I haven’t really told them anything, other than I would be spending a lot of time with Chloe at the castle. But I think the idea of a spell is very good… At least that way they won’t be worried or checking up on me. So yes I would be very grateful for the spell Mrs Luthor,” said Clark with a smile.

“Excellent. I will make the arrangements now. Lionel and Sergi are on their way so I’ll leave.”

Just as she was leaving the room, Lionel and Sergi entered. Lionel shared a quick smile with his wife as she exited.

“Ah Clark,” said Sergi. “I’m sure Lillian has informed you that we are finalising our plans for Germany.”

“She has, and yes I am sure that I want to go,” said Clark. “I am ready; I want to do this…”

“Well Lionel,” grinned Sergi as the other vampire stood beside him. “Looks like we won’t have to give our little pep-talk. It seems like Mr Kent here has his mind made up… He’s all raring to go.”

Lionel smiled at Clark. “Thank you Clark.”

“Oh don’t thank me yet Mr Luthor, there’s still a lot to do first.”

“I know, but I’d still like to thank you for all your help so far.”

“Ok, seeing as we don’t have to have a *talk*,” smiled Sergi. “Why don’t you show us how your flying is getting on?” he turned to Clark.

A bright smile appeared on Clark’s race. “I would love too Mr Romanov.”

“Jeez, any excuse to get up there,” teased Chloe.

“Damn right,” murmured Clark. “Come on let’s go…”

--------------------------------------------------

Karl and Elena had remained in the small hotel while Heike went out and about the town to see if she could find out anything. The comings and goings at the warehouse where still happening, although not in a great as numbers as earlier. A call from Natasha had filled all three in on the latest updates that is Clark Kent flying and what he and Chloe had discovered in the cave.

“Flying aliens, well I suppose it was to be expected,” joked Karl. “I mean with everything else that has happened it kind of seems like a natural progression.”

“Do you think we’ll be remaining here to help Lillian and the others out?” asked Elena. “Or will we be sent to Karnak immediately?”

“Not sure yet,” replied Karl. “But I’m leaning towards the being sent to Karnak option myself.”

“I’ve been thinking about that. When the spell transports Oliver to Karnak… there will of course be a battle. But it will only be Oliver; the army guarding the ruins are Lionel’s people not Oliver’s, even though he doesn’t know that. I know the demon is strong but it will not need an army to hold him alone while Lex and Chloe take care of everything. So why is everyone being sent there?” asked Elena.

“Because Lionel doesn’t want to leave anything to chance. The area where the battle will take place is full of energy… that is both good and evil. Who knows what ‘creatures’ may be called by a demon as powerful and evil as Oliver. Lionel has had Claudio and Byron heavily researching everything about the area… He’s just ensuring that all bases are covered. There has already been a very heavy air of mysticism to all this so far and to suddenly ignore that side because we are so near could be detrimental to us all.”

Elena smiled at him. “See I knew I wasn’t just with you for the great sex. There is a brain there as well.”

“I’m going to take that as a compliment,” joked Karl. “And not as an admission that you were just using me for my body up to now.”

Elena laughed and was about to answer when Heike entered the room. She looked flushed and out of breath.

“Are you ok?” asked Karl approaching the woman.

“I am fine,” she said. “I just ran here.”

“Here, have a seat,” said Elena. “Do you want a drink?”

“No it’s ok. I’m not as young as I use to be,” said Heike with a chuckle as she sat down.

Karl took his seat beside Elena and they waited for the other woman to continue speaking.

“A friend of mine works in one of the trucker café’s that is on the route to the warehouse district,” began Heike. “He told me he overhead two truck drivers talking about their deliveries to a warehouse. At first he wasn’t paying too much attention but when one of them mentioned that there were some very ‘weird and freaky’ characters there he paid a bit more attention. It seems there are deliveries there all day and then none tomorrow. Apparently a very special guest is arriving in the early hours of the morning and the warehouse will be off limits for a few days to accommodate him.”

“Oliver!” gasped Elena.

“Yes,” nodded Heike. “I believe it is.”

Karl was about to speak when his cell-phone rang. “One moment,” he said to Elena and Heike and answered the call. There was a brief conversation before Karl hung up.

“That was Matthias, he had been watching Jurgen. And it seems your friend Elena has been *summoned* to the warehouse and is not too happy about it. Matthias said Jurgen has been asking around the various mystics in the area for information on Karnak, maybe that has got back to Oliver. Either way he is going to be at the warehouse as well. Heike why don’t you contact Lionel and tell him what you told us?”

“Me,” exclaimed Heike. “Shouldn’t you tell him?”

“No. The news about Oliver’s arrival was yours to begin with I think you should tell the others.”

With a big smile Heike jumped up from her chair and headed to the computer to ‘contact’ Smallville.

--------------------------------------------------

Tuyla shivered as she drew closer to the ruins.

“Are you ok?” asked Lucas, noticing the tremor of her body.

“I’m fine… it’s just that the air around the ruins seems charged almost. It’s like there is a build-up of power,” she said. She shivered again and wrapped her arms around herself. “It’s almost as if the area knows something is about to happen. It’s like it is preparing itself for the battle.”

“I can’t feel it as deeply as you can,” said Lucas. “But now that you mention it there is definitely something different about the place. And I’m not quite sure if it’s a good or a bad thing.”

“I think for the most part it is good,” said Tuyla with a gentle smile. “This is mainly Altair’s realm, and when the time comes he will protect us.”

Lucas hummed his response as he looked around the ruins. He had made the trip in the dead of night to check out the place from an aerial perspective, for Clark, and Tuyla had asked if she could join him. And never being able to turn a pretty face down he of course said yes. He couldn’t help but feel a little bitter about the young man’s sudden discovery of being able to fly…. Well that and the constant ‘I told you so’ coming from a very smug Alyssa.

They soon found themselves at the spot where the mark had appeared, and once again the power surrounding the area had its effect on Tuyla. The young girl swayed under its onslaught and would have fallen had Lucas not caught her.

“Ok, see, I knew it was a bad idea bringing you here,” said Lucas as he led her away from the area. “I was only coming here to check out suitable places for Clark to swoop in and save the day. Come on, we’re heading back…”

“But I,” Tuyla protested weakly.

“But nothing, come on let’s go. Anna and Gabe will never forgive me if anything happens to you.” He led her out of the ruins and back to the waiting car. ‘And I’d never forgive myself,’ he added silently.

--------------------------------------------------

Heike call about Oliver’s imminent arrival at the warehouse sent the Luthor household into a frenzy of arrangements and plans. Everything was moved forward. The forces in Europe were told to finalise their arrangements and to be prepared for any eruptions of violence or magic in the vampire world in their areas. While some of them were stationed to keep an eye on the German borders to stop any of Oliver’s men escaping.

Lillian, Natasha and Clark were in the training room with Claudio and Byron going over and over and over the spell until it got too much for the normally laid back Clark and he shouted at Claudio to give it a rest.

“You are all definitely ready now,” was the Hungarian vampire’s grinned response.

At the private Luthor airstrip there was just as much activity. Planes were being readied to take the group to Germany and the rest to Karnak. Lex called Karl and told him and Elena to make their way to Karnak… immediately. Heike would remain in Germany and meet Lillian and the others.

Within two hours the cars were filled and about to leave the Luthor estate. Byron remained in the castle along with Christine and the baby… much to the older man and young vampiress’ protests.

“Hurry up Lex,” Chloe called out.

“One moment,” he called back as he rummaged through the bottom drawer in his room.

Sighing Chloe headed out and got into the waiting car, the horns of Altair wrapped tightly and safely in her pocket.

Back in the room Lex’s hand closed over a small object wrapped in a silk handkerchief. Smiling he took it out and opened the material. Nestled inside was the chunk of wall with Chloe’s blood on it that he had taken the day he and Nik discovered she had been kidnapped by Oliver.

A couple of blasts from a car horn shook him from his reverie and he wrapped up the piece of wall once again and this time placed it in his pocket. Smiling to himself he ran down the stairs and into the car.

-------

“Goodbye and good luck,” said a tearful Heike as she hugged Elena and the Karl.

“You too,” said Elena. “Take care of yourself Heike.”

“Be safe,” smiled Karl, kissing her cheek. “It has been a pleasure and honour working with you. We’ll meet up again when this is over.”

“Yes we will,” said Heike through her tears and she watched Karl and Elena exited the small building and walk across the airstrip to their waiting plane.

-------

The scenes at the Luthor private airstrip were just as tearful.

Lionel held his wife tightly, afraid to let her go. Sergi did the same with Natasha. They were soon joined by their children.

“I fully expect to see you in Karnak Clark Kent,” said a tearful Chloe as she hugged her friend.

“I fully intend on being there Chlo,” replied Clark, hugging her just as tightly. When he released her Lex, Nik and Alyssa had come over.

“Be safe young man,” said Claudio, shaking Clark’s hand… Lynette followed by giving him a hug.

Chloe moved away to say her goodbyes to Natasha and Lillian.

Over the next few minutes there were hugs, handshakes, words of good luck and tears… lots of tears.

-------

“Be safe my darling,” murmured Lionel and he held his wife once more. “Be strong; remember I am always with you.”

“I love you Lionel,” whispered Lillian.

“I love you too,” he replied.

-------

“Come back to me soon Tasha,” said Sergi, kissing his wife gently. “I love you.”

“You’re barely notice me gone my darling Sergi,” she replied tearfully. “I love you too much to stay away from long.”

-------

“Clark Kent you and I have not spent nearly enough time together,” smiled Alyssa taking Clark’s hands in his. “I intend to rectify that when all this is over. So don’t go getting yourself hurt or anything.”

“I will do my best,” he replied.

“Oh screw this,” murmured Alyssa and threw herself into Clark’s arms, kissing him soundly on the lips.

-------

“This is it,” said Lionel, addressing everyone. “From this moment on we fully enter this war. The events of the next few days will decide the outcome of not only the demon world but the human world. I believe we all have the strength and belief to be victorious. Be safe and successful everyone…”

After the small round of applause the groups split. Lillian, Natasha and Clark headed to their plane while the rest boarded theirs.

Twenty five minutes later both planes were in the air…

Chapter Two Hundred – The Final Countdown

The occupants in the cabin were silent as the plane made its way across the Atlantic Ocean. About an hour ago there was an update from Lionel saying that their flight was on schedule and the next contact would be when both planes arrived at their destination.

Clark gave up on the book he was reading and studied the two women sitting opposite him. They looked like they were asleep but he knew better. Both women had been quite subdued since the plane took off.

Sighing Clark shifted in his seat and laid his head back. He thought about his mom and dad and hoped he would get to see them again. His mind then drifted to the ‘goodbye’ at the Luthor airstrip. Everyone seemed so sad and scared… even Lionel. But there was still an underlying feeling of hope… Hope that everyone would be safe.

Clark closed his and smiled as he remembered Alyssa’s ‘goodbye’ to him. A light blush flooded his cheeks.

“I hope you’re not thinking about my daughter,” Natasha’s voice startled him from his thoughts. Clark’s eyes flew open to see Natasha smirking at him.

Clark cleared his throat and shifted in his seat, not quite sure what to say.

“Relax Clark, I’m only teasing,” smiled Natasha. “But you can look forward to a very serious chat with Sergi and myself when all this is over. I am very interested in what your attentions are towards my daughter.”

“My… what?” exclaimed Clark. “Mrs Romanov…”

“It’s ok Clark,” said Lillian. “Really Natasha, don’t be scaring the poor boy like that. We can’t have him worrying about a talk with you and Sergi when he has to be concentrating on kicking Oliver’s ass.”

Clark let out a laugh, he just couldn’t help himself. But hearing the words ‘kicking Oliver’s ass’ coming out of Lillian Luthor’s mouth was just too funny.

Lillian winked at him.

The mood in the cabin seemed to have improved. And at least Natasha and Lillian were talking, even if it was to tease Clark.

“Something’s been puzzling me,” said Clark a moment later.

“Would you like to narrow it down to something more specific,” teased Natasha when he didn’t add to the statement.

Clark resisted the urge to roll his eyes. “When we have taken care of Oliver and transported him to Karnak what are we expected to do then?”

“We are to go to Karnak to help out with the battle,” said Lillian.

“And we get there how?”

Natasha was silent as she looked at Lillian.

“Courtesy of Byron,” smirked the Luthor matriarch.

“Now maybe you’d like to narrow it down to something more specific,” grinned Natasha.

“He found another spell,” said Lillian.

“Another transport spell?” asked Clark.

“Kind of, but nowhere near as powerful as the one we’re going to cast on Oliver. This is a kind of tandem transport spell. We can transport ourselves but not over the great distance and to the exact point that the other spell can.”

“So, we ship ourselves across Europe till we hit Karnak,” said Natasha.

“Yes,” replied Lillian.

“Why do I sense a ‘but’ coming?” said Clark.

“Because there is. There are a limited number of times that we can transport with this spell. And that number is only three. So at the moment Byron is working on the best route for us.”

“Fun and games,” murmured Natasha.

--------------------------------------------------

Heike paced nervously up and down, checking her watch every five minutes.

Lionel had called her about an hour earlier giving her an update on the status of Lillian’s plane. He had also spent time thanking her for all her help so far and how appreciative he and his family were of her unwavering loyalty and support. He had left her quite embarrassed by the end of the call.

She was straight into action. A car was organised and currently sat outside the airport waiting for the guests. A few rooms had been prepared at the hotel… everything was in place for their arrival.

She glanced at her watch again… forty-five minutes to go; the plane was due to land in forty-five minutes. Taking a deep breath Heike called the men who were watching the warehouse for an update. It would help pass the time and also she would have a complete updated report for Lillian and the others when they arrived.

--------------------------------------------------

Lucas and Gabe sat in the airport waiting for Karl and Elena's plane to land. Lucas had been speaking to both his parents earlier and spent a long time telling his mother to be careful.

Gabe watched the young man fidgeting beside him. He knew he was worried about his mother.

“Lucas, she will be fine. Both she and Natasha are incredibly strong women, they will get through this. And there is no way Clark will let *anything* happen to either of them.”

“I know that,” sighed Lucas. “Still can’t help worrying though.”

“Wait till you have children, then you'll be constantly worrying,” chuckled Gabe.

“I think I know now what my mom and dad go through every time Lex and I got into trouble or where off somewhere. It’s not a nice feeling.”

“No it’s not.”

“Hey it’s their plane,” said Lucas.

Both men moved over the large window and watched as the plane landed, quite smoothly, on the runaway.

“Come on Gabe, let’s meet them at the door,” said Lucas tugging the other man’s arm.

The made their way down as the airplane taxied across the ground and came to a complete stop. The door was just opening as they arrived.

Karl and Elena stepped off the plane to see a smiling Gabe and Lucas waiting for them. Elena gave them a small wave as she descended the steps.

“Oh so good to see you both,” she said hugging Lucas and then Gabe.

“Good to see you too my dear,” smiled Gabe hugging her back.

“Welcome to Egypt,” grinned Lucas shaking Karl’s hand and then pulling him into a hug.

“We heard the action here was good,” laughed Karl hugging his friend.

“Good and going to get much better,” said Lucas releasing him.

“Hey Gabe,” smiled Karl shaking the other man’s hand.

“Nice to see you again son,” he smiled.

“Well come on then. We have a car waiting and a bit of a drive to the village. Anna is waiting not very patiently mind you for you to arrive.”

“So Lucas,” said Elena as the all began walking off. “Tell us about this Tuyla…”

--------------------------------------------------

“Mrs Luthor how wonderful to see you,” smiled Heike. “It’s just a pity it’s not under better circumstances.”

“Heike my dear, you look great,” Lillian replied taking the woman in her arms and kissing her cheek.

“Mrs Romanov, belated congratulations on the birth of your granddaughter,” said Heike.

“Thank you Heike.”

“And you must be Clark Kent. Nice to meet you Mr Kent,” Heike held her hand out to Clark.

“Nice to meet you too Ms…” said Clark shaking the offered hand.

“It’s just Heike,” she replied.

“And I’m just Clark please. Mr Kent is my dad.”

“Clark it is then. Well if you are all ready we should leave. I have a car waiting.”

All four headed to the waiting car. “Mrs Luthor, Mrs Romanov,” said the driver nodding his head as he held the door open for them.

“Thank you Mike,” murmured Lillian and they all got into the back.

“The hotel please Mike,” said Heike and when he started the engine she closed the partition between the driver and the back of the car.

“I called the team watching the warehouse,” began Heike as the car drove off. “The traffic back and forth from the warehouse has calmed down. In fact in the last few hours there have only been two vans entering and none leaving.”

“Any word on when exactly Oliver will be there?” asked Natasha.

“We believe he is there already,” said Heike. “I am just awaiting confirmation of that fact. Jurgen has been seen over the last twenty-four hours in and out of the warehouse. And about six hours ago a blacked-out van entered the building. And while our contact couldn’t see exactly who got out they are fairly certain it was Oliver. One of the guards watching is going to see how close she can get to confirm that Oliver is there.”

“I hope she’ll be careful,” murmured Lillian.

“She knows what is at stake Mrs Luthor,” said Heike softly. “She will do what is needed.”

“I know,” sighed Lillian. “But that doesn’t mean I have to like it when young people sacrifice themselves…”

“I’m assuming our arrival has been kept quiet,” said Natasha changing the conversation.

“It has… And you have no idea how difficult that was,” said Heike with a wry smile. “The name Luthor and Romanov is far too well known. But rest assured only those that need to know are aware that you are here.”

“If Heike’s contact confirms that Oliver is at the warehouse are we going to hit it?” asked Clark, looking from one woman to the other.

“If he is only going to be there for the one night, then yes we will,” said Lillian. “If he’s going to hang around for a couple of days then we will wait until tomorrow. Personally I would rather wait till tomorrow I’d like to recharge my batteries before launching into an attack.”

“There should be an update when we arrive at the hotel,” said Heike.

--------------------------------------------------

“They have arrived in Germany and Heike has picked them up,” said Lionel to everyone. “There is a very good chance the Oliver is at the warehouse… they are just waiting on the final confirmation. If he is there and it looks like he’s only there for the night, they will launch the attack. If he’s going to be hanging around the attack will happen tomorrow.”

He paused for a moment to allow the news to sink in.

“Wow, it’s really happening then,” murmured Chloe.

“We’ll be landing in Egypt in an hour… it will take us about forty minutes to get to the ruins and that’s at full speed. If they go tonight we’ll be cutting it very fine,” said Lex.

“We will be there and we will be ready,” said Lionel. “Lex contact your brother and tell him the latest. We are on schedule and will be there in time.”

--------------------------------------------------

“Ok people we may have a go tonight,” said Lucas rubbing his hands.

“I think I speak for everyone here when I say ‘What?’, said Gabe with a smile.

Lucas quickly explained what Lex had just told them.

“Holy crap…it’s all seem so real now,” muttered Gabe taking Anna’s hand.

“The air is changing,” said Tuyla. She walked over to the window and looked out over the desert. “The sand knows; it knows what is coming. The sands are shifting; all the souls that have perished on it, both good and bad will be awakened… It just needs the final spark…”

She turned to find everyone staring at her. Her ability to completely understand English and others around her to understand her had been growing in the weeks since her ‘test’ with Chloe.

“And that final spark would be Oliver,” said Karl.

“Exactly,” nodded Tuyla. “A lot of blood will be spilt on these sands…” She whispered as she turned back to look out over the desert.

--------------------------------------------------

They had settled in the hotel and were all gathered in Lillian’s room when Heike got a call. Excusing herself she left the room to take the call.

Clark sat nervously as he waited for her to return, resisting the urge to ‘listen’ in on her call.

“Don’t worry Clark, we’re not listening in either,” teased Natasha.

Lillian smiled as she sat at the small desk looking over the spell.

The door opened and three pairs of eyes turned to watch Heike as she entered the room. She had a bright smile on her face.

“Good news?” asked Clark.

“That depends on how you look at it,” said Heike. “Yes Oliver is there… and he’s going to be there for a few days. He’s giving his ‘we are great and if you follow me we’ll rule the world’ speech to a batch of new recruits. He’s going to be around to flaunt how mighty and powerful he is.”

Clarke breathed out a very audible sigh of relief and all three women looked at him.

“Sorry… hey if we have to go tonight I’m all ready,” he said shrugging his shoulders. “But my preference is tomorrow…”

“It’s ok Clark,” smiled Lillian. “My preference is tomorrow as well. Did your contact get herself hurt in any way getting this information?” she asked Heike.

“No…. thankfully,” replied Heike.

“Ok, tomorrow it is…” said Natasha.

“As soon as the sun sets we hit the warehouse,” said Lillian.

Man two hundred is a lot of chapters and all we had to do was read them, I admire your ability to write them. I loved the way natasha teased Clark. I am so nervous for this battle to be over with. One question when you say only a few more chapters left, do you mean that that is when the battle will be done and this fic is over. Or are we going to get some sense of what life is like for everyone after the battle?

Chapter Two Hundred and One – The Final Battle ~ Germany

“Wake up Mr Kent,” Heike’s voice sounded on the other side of the door. “There are many plans to be made… Today is a very important day.”

“Just a few minutes more mom,” murmured Clark, burying himself deeper under the blankets.

“Now Mr Kent,” shouted Heike, banging on the door. “If you are not in Mrs Luthor’s room in five minutes I’m sending her and Mrs Romanov in to get you out of the bed.”

It took a few seconds for what Heike said to sink into Clark’s brain but when it did he shot up in the bed.

“I’m up, I’m up… Five minutes I’ll be there.”

Heike chuckled as she walked away for the door.

“Phew,” sighed Clark flopping back onto the bed.

“No, no,” he said about twenty seconds later as he felt his eyes closing. “Get up Clark… today is the day…”

--------------------------------------------------

When he entered Lillian’s room the three women were huddled over a map on the table.

“Glad you could join us Clark,” teased Natasha.

“Yeah sorry,” he replied sheepishly, “I like my sleep.”

“It’s ok Clark,” smiled Lillian. “I promise you can have a *nap* before the real good stuff starts.”

Laughing, Clark approached the table and looked down at a map.

“Isn’t that of the warehouse complex,” he said a moment later.

“It is,” replied Lillian. “And yes I know we all have it memorised I’m just going over the other ways into it. I want to be 100% certain that when we attack no one gets in or out.”

“Will there be others with us?” asked Clark.

“Yes, there is a group of vampires that will attack with us. These are the ones gathered by Lars and some of the other European families. Their priority is to take out the minions. We know Oliver has had new recruits arriving so they will need to be taken care off.”

“Most of them are freshly turned, barely past their first kill,” said Natasha. “So they won’t pose much of a problem.”

“The mystic I got to help Karl and Elena out is going to be there for a little while. He will place a binding spell on the warehouse to keep everyone, especially Oliver in,” said Heike. “Now this will only last a moment but it should be enough time for the three of you to corner Oliver.”

“Then it’s up to you Clark to hold him in place while Lillian and I cast the spell,” said Natasha.

“Ah no problem,” said Clark.

“You will be fine Clark. We all have faith in you,” said Heike with a smile.

“Heike why don’t you and Clark grab some breakfast,” said Lillian. “Natasha and I have a few calls to make. Let’s say we meet back here in an hour. Ok?”

“Ok. That sounds good to me,” grinned Clark. “Heike…” he held his arm out to the other woman. And with a smile she took it.

“You’re worried about him,” said Natasha when Clark and Heike had gone. “Do you think he won’t be up to it?”

“Yes I am worried,” replied Lillian with a sigh as she sat down. “But he’ll be fine. When the push comes he will do everything he can. The worry is coming from a more maternal place,” she grinned.

“Has everyone settled in Egypt?”

“Yes… They are just waiting on the word from us.”

Natasha walked over to the window and looked out. It was still early morning and quite grey out. Over the other side of the street from the hotel she saw a group of about six rather shady looking men. Narrowing her eyes she saw that they seemed to be passing over packages between them.

“It’s probably drugs,” murmured Lillian coming to stand beside her.

“You know Lillian I’m feeling a little peckish myself,” said Natasha with a grin. “I could do with some breakfast myself…”

“Now that you mention it Natasha I’m a little hungry myself. I believe the *street* food here is rather tasty,” Lillian smirked looking across the street at the drug dealers.

“Let’s go,” said Natasha pushing the window open.

------

Ten minutes later the sound of muffled screams came from an alley behind the hotel. The drug dealers tried to fight but they where no match for two master vampiress’.

“This one had a bit of fight in him,” smiled Lillian as she dropped the drained body of the last man.

“I feel quite full now,” said Natasha licking the last of the blood from her lips.

“Me too. I’ll make a call to ensure this,” she gestured to the remains, “is cleaned up. And then we’ll head back to the hotel room.”

“Where we can sit and wait until the sun sets,” said Lillian.

--------------------------------------------------

“Byron, that was Lillian,” said Christine entering the library. “They are going to hit the warehouse at sun set. She says you better have the co-ordinates for their transport spell five minutes before they leave their hotel.”

“And if I don’t,” he replied not taking his eyes from the book in front of him.

“I’m to kick your ass,” she grinned.

“Really now,” he replied looking at her.

“Her words Byron not mine,” said Christine.

“And you’d do it too,” he grumbled. “You can tell Lillian that she will have her co-ordinates. I am almost finished. I’m just running simulations on them to make sure.”

“Will this transport them directly to Karnak?” asked Christine approaching the desk where he was working.

“It won’t get them to Karnak. And Lillian knows that. But it will get them to Egypt and as close as I get them to Karnak. It won’t take the three of them long to get to the actual ruins.”

“Good work Byron. I’ll let Lillian know the latest. She’ll be happy to know that I won’t have to kick your ass,” she said with a grin as she exited the room.

--------------------------------------------------

Chloe sat chatting with her dad and Tuyla while Lex spoke with his brother and father. She was so happy to see her dad again; she only wished it had been under better circumstances. The hours since the arrived in Karnak had been spent catching up with those they hadn’t seen in a while.

As soon as it was dark enough for vampires to venture out they had gone to the ruins. As soon as the reached the central point, the area where the *sign* had appeared, both Lex and Chloe were driven to their knees, gasping. Tuyla had stopped the others from helping them. She said they needed to get use to the power there or they’d never be able to fight.

It had taken a few moments for them to get back to their feet and even when they did they still swayed for a few moments. But the longer the stood there the more they got use to it.

After wandering around the site for an hour they headed back to the village. The moment they had arrived back Lillian contacted Lionel and told him they would be leaving for the warehouse in exactly one hour.

Lionel told her to inform him the moment they encountered Oliver.

When he had finished his conversation with her he told the waiting crowd the latest.

“Prepare yourselves,” he said. “Have every thing you need on standby, the second the message comes through from Lillian we will move to the ruins. We need to be ready for Oliver’s arrival.”

‘Good luck my darling,’ he sent back to his wife, a sentiment Sergi sent to his own mate.

--------------------------------------------------

“Here it is,” said Heike hurrying through the lobby to meet the others. She held in her hand a memo from the fax machine. She handed it to Lillian.

“Oh well done Byron,” she murmured handing it to Natasha.

“The co-ordinates for our transport spell,” murmured the Russian. “It doesn’t give us much time between pit-stops.”

“How close to Karnak do we get?” asked Clark standing beside Natasha and peering at the page in her hand.

“We’re only about twenty-five miles form the ruins,” said Lillian. “A short dash for us. Have you two memorised the co-ordinates,” she asked Clark and Natasha.

“Yes,” said Natasha.

“Me too,” nodded Clark.

“Good. Heike destroy this please. We’ll meet you in the car.”

With a nod Heike took the paper and ran back across the lobby.

--------------------------------------------------

Within about ten minutes the party were on their way to the warehouse complex. The sun was setting and dusk had descended over them. Behind their car were three vans, all containing those loyal to the Luthors and Romanovs. At the warehouse site another four vans waited.

Clark nervously rubbed his hands together as the car made its way along the back roads.

“Relax,” whispered Natasha placing her hand over his.

“Easier said than done,” he replied. “I don’t think I’ve ever being so nervous in my life and we haven’t even got there yet.”

“Nerves, in moderation, aren’t a bad thing,” said Lillian. “Stops you getting over confident.”

“There’s no chance of me getting over confident,” murmured Clark.

“We are approaching the slip road where we will be parking,” said Heike. “We then head the rest of the way on foot.” She then picked up the radio and relayed the same message to the following vans.

Minutes later the car came to a stop in a small slip rod off the main road they had been travelling on.

Everyone piled out and met the group of vampires.

“Everyone knows what to do,” said Lillian, addressing them all. “So there is no need to go over it again. All I will say is thank you to all of you for being here. We all know this could end very badly but yet you all volunteered and for that we are very grateful. Once we hit the warehouse its all guns blazing. Is everyone ready?”

There were murmurs of yes from the gathered crowd.

“Excellent. Ok let’s go.” Lillian then turned to Heike. “You stay here,” she held up her hand when Heike was about to protest. “I do not doubt your loyalty or your ability in a fight. But I would feel better if you were out here. If things take a turn for the worse, you will be needed to get more troops etc. Please Heike…”

“Very well,” she said. “But I’m not happy about it.”

“I know you’re not,” replied Lillian giving the other woman a hug.

“Good luck Mrs Luthor,” whispered Heike as she hugged the other woman. “Be safe…”

“I intend too.”

Goodbyes were said and five minutes later Heike got back into the car and watched Lillian lead everyone to the warehouse.

--------------------------------------------------

They reached the back door of the warehouse. Natasha instructed the others to move around the building, effectively circling it.

“What’s on the other side Clark?” Lillian asked him.

Concentrating Clark looked through the wall… “There’s a crowd gathered on the floor,” he said. “And standing up on a walkway is Oliver and there is someone else standing beside him. I think its Jurgen,” said Clark remembering seeing the other vampire in pictures from Karl’s reports.

“Good the gang’s all there,” said Natasha.

“You two ready,” asked Lillian.

Both Natasha and Clark nodded.

“Right, let’s do this. On three,” Lillian said into a radio. “One... Two…”

“THREE…”

------

“What the fuck…” shouted Oliver as vampires came flying through broken windows. His demon was screaming… ‘GET OUT.’

“It’s Lillian Luthor,” gasped Jurgen watching the woman in question break the neck of an attacking minion.

“It’s an ambush,” said Oliver.

“At last,” grinned Jurgen. “A real fight…” He vaulted over the railing and landed on the ground, easily dispatching one of the Luthor vampires as it attack him. He looked up to see Oliver moving away. “Hey, why aren’t you fighting… this is the chance to take a Luthor and a Romanov out...”

“This is wrong… My demon,” cried Oliver, grabbing his head. “RUN…” And with that he took off, running along the gangway.

“Clark,” cried Natasha, “stop Oliver… he’s leaving.”

Clark flew up into the air and slammed in Oliver knocking the two of them off the gangway and through a wall on the other side.

“Lillian,” called Natasha as she began heading over to where Clark and Oliver landed.

After checking around her to make sure the others could handle things, Lillian took off in the direction Natasha went sending the message to Lionel that they would be starting the spell in a matter of minutes.

When she got there Natasha was standing watching Oliver and Clark fighting. Oliver was morphing into his demon form.

“Clark can you hold him?” cried Lillian.

“Start it,” he shouted back.

Lillian and Natasha looked at each other and then ventured further into the room. Lillian moved to the left, Natasha to the right.

“Let me go,” growled Oliver, clawing at Clark, but the young boy held fast. “What the fuck are you?” cried Oliver as Clark tightened his grip on him,

“On three,” said Lillian. “One, Two, and Three…”

The two women began chanting the spell in the specific languages.

Oliver howled as the air around them changed. He struggled harder against Clark causing him to loosen his grip slightly. The demon took this as an opening and kicked at Clark sending him across the room.

“Don’t stop,” shouted Clark as he quickly got to his feet and threw himself at Oliver. He grabbed him by the legs and tackled him to the ground.

The alien and the demon traded punches as they rolled on the ground. But Clark just wasn’t letting go.

“I remember you,” growled Oliver. “From Scotland, when you came to rescue the Luthor whore.”

Clark flinched at him calling Chloe a whore.

The air felt electric around them as the two women continued with their spell… outside the fighting continued between the vampires.

Jurgen could see a glow coming from the other side of the warehouse and began making his way towards it only to find his way hampered by other vampires.

Within the room Natasha and Lillian were reaching the end of their spell. They stole a glance at each other and moved closer to the grappling pair on the ground.

“Ah you know her,” taunted Oliver, getting a punch in to Clark’s ribs. “Bet you’ve wanted to taste between her legs.”

“Shut up,” said Clark, back handing the smirking demon across the face.

‘A chink,’ thought Oliver.

“I don’t think so,” growled Clark when Oliver opened his mouth to speak again. He grabbed one of the demon’s wings and pulled hard, partially ripping it from Oliver’s back. The scream he gave out echoed around the warehouse, it sent some of his minions running for the doors.

Clark landed a punch in Oliver’s face that sent the demon flying into the wall. He saw the women approaching and then heard them shift to their own ancient languages. He jumped to his feet and hauled the stunned demon up from the ground, holding him by the neck.

Growling slightly Clark let loose his fists on the demon over and over again till it slumped to the ground. “See you on the battlefield,” he whispered into Oliver’s ear.

“Finish it,” he shouted at the two women as he flew past them and straight into the approaching Jurgen.

Without missing a beat Lillian and Natasha stood in front of Oliver and chanted the last word of the spell… ‘Karnak…’

The room grew darker and a swirling hole appeared in the centre, growing larger. Oliver screamed and looked frightened as it descended on him. He vainly tried to move but between his injuries and the approaching void he found himself trapped. With a chilling scream he was completely engulfed…

“NOOO,” screamed Jurgen.

“Let him go Clark,” said Natasha as they watched the ‘void’ diminish.

Clark released the vampire and he ran to it and kind of dived in. There was a blood curdling scream and the void imploded, sending bits of the flaming vampire over the room before the pieces turned to dust.

“Gross,” murmured Clark.

Outside the room the battle was ending… the remaining minions of Oliver running away when they saw what had happened to their leader.

“Make sure none of them survive,” said Lillian. “And I want a few of you to remain and as soon as we are gone destroy this place, I want nothing remaining.”

There were nods from their accomplices and then they ran out after the others, five of them staying behind to carry out the other instructions from Lillian.

“I’ve contacted Heike and told her to head back to the hotel and wait further instructions,” said Natasha. “You ok?” she turned to Clark.

“Just about,” he replied with a slightly shaky voice.

“You did very well Clark,” said Lillian. “We’re very proud of you.” She put a hand on his shoulder and squeezed it gently, earning a shy grin from him.

“We need to get moving,” said Natasha. “Are you ready to cast our spell?”

Lillian nodded. “Clark you stand between Natasha and I and take ours hands. DO not let go under any circumstances until we land in Egypt. We don’t want to lose you mid-transport.”

“No, we don’t want that,” he muttered moving between them. He took Lillian’s hand and then Natasha. “Let’s do this…”

--------------------------------------------------

Among the ruins of Karnak a wind rose up as lighting flashed through the sky.

Lionel and the rest stood in a circle around the area where the sign had been spotted.

“It’s happening,” Lex called out over the wind. “Be ready…” He reached out and clasped Chloe’s hand, squeezing it gently.

A loud rumble of thunder, followed by a crack of lightening signalled the arrival of a swirling black vortex… A scream of pain could be heard on the wind and the vortex swirled more violently…

Chapter Two Hundred and Two – The Final Battle ~ Karnak Part 1

… A scream of pain could be heard on the wind and the vortex swirled more violently…

Screeches filled the air as the sand swirled up into pillars.

“Everyone stand firm,” cried Lionel. His voice barely making itself heard over the noise of the wind and the screams.

The gap in the vortex widened and a body fell through it, hitting the ground with such force that a crater was made in the sand. The impact sent shockwaves across the desert, causing the ground beneath Lionel and the others to shake.

“Stand firm,” he repeated watching as Anna grabbed Gabe to stop him from falling.

A loud howl erupted from the crater and a demon flew up into the air, albeit a little off course as one wing seemed to be barely attached to its shoulder.

“It’s Oliver,” gasped Elena as the demon came into view.

The vortex that had spat him out disappeared, but the wind did not let up around the ruins. Plus there were shrieks and screams on the air… and the air around them crackled.

“Luthor,” screamed Oliver swooping down towards Lionel.

Growls erupted from Lex, Lucas and Sergi as all three launched themselves at the descending demon. Lucas hit him in the back while the other two hit his sides knocking him completely away from Lionel.

With a roar Oliver started clawing at Sergi as he pushed Lex and Lucas away, shoving the two Luthor brothers across the sand to the edge of the crater.

“Watch out,” cried Chloe as a pillar of sand morphed into a demon and was about to strike Karl. The young vampire quickly turned around and after a brief scuffle broke the demon’s neck… Seconds later it turned to sand.

“That was…” began Karl only to stop as all the pillars of sand that surrounded them began changing into demons. Screeches filled the air and the sky grew darker with more demons.

“Attack,” cried Lex. “Don’t hold back… And watch out for each other.”

“Tuyla, stick with me,” said Lucas grabbing the young girl by the arm. “And when I say run, you run.”

The girl nodded, the action causing the pain in her head to grow. It had been steadily getting worse from the moment they arrived at the ruins, but with the increase in power it was getting almost unbearable.

Anna pretty much said the same thing to Gabe, while Karl and Elena both said they’d keep their eye on Chloe’s dad as well.

Lionel quickly spun around then ripped of the head off the demon behind him. Four winged demons swept from the sky and grabbed him. Seeing this, Claudio launched into the air and knocked one away sending them both tumbling to the ground where they grappled for a few moments before Claudio emerged as the victor. Lionel grabbed the legs of two others and a battle in the air began.

All over the desert skirmishes where breaking out. As they thought, the energy that had built up around the ruins was drawing evil to it. Demons and the spirits of the long dead were appearing, and they seemed to be on Oliver’s side.

Oliver let out a pained cry as Sergi tugged on the wounded wing, ripping it even more from the demon’s back and he dropped the master vampire who crashed to the ground.

He hovered in the air looking down at the various battles on the desert floor. His eyes flashed red as he felt the power that was in the area. It was almost alive, swirling around him.

Over the sound of the wind and the fighting he heard it. It was faint at first but soon grew in volume. Wings…it was the sound of wings, thousands of them. Oliver let out a long screech as the *flapping* grew closer.

Lex looked up and saw the approaching ‘cloud’. “Run,” he shouted grabbing Chloe’s hand. “Disperse, spread out…”

Lionel saw what his son was shouting about and he echoed Lex’s cries.

“Ah my army,” growled Oliver as the winged demons now filled the sky of the Karnak ruins.

“Sever the heads,” shouted Lucas as he did just that to the demon that attacked him. It immediately turned to dust.

Between the demons emerging from beneath the sands to the ones that had now filled the sky, Lionel and the others were outnumbered.

“I should have never been worried about this place,” laughed Oliver as he hovered in the air. “Attack… attack,” he cried, “destroy them all.” His eyes drank in the scenes below him as the demons attacked.

Suddenly he spotted Lex and Chloe fighting off a few demons.

“Perfect,” he purred, the two he wanted to personally kill, all ready for him.

------

“Gabe, watch out,” cried Elena as she launched herself at him.

“Who... What?” Gabe spun around just as he was pushed to the ground by a demon. He twisted and kicked out at the demon as he frantically scrambled for the knife he had dropped. “Bastard,” he hissed as the demon clawed his leg, ripping through his pants. “Got it,” he grabbed the knife and plunged it into the demon’s neck.

Elena then reared up behind it and ripped the head from the shoulders. She held out her hand and helped Gabe to his feet. “You ok to continue on that?” she asked indicating to his bleeding leg.

“I’ll be fine,” he gasped. “Thank you Elena…” His attention was directed to movement behind her. “Duck,” he cried and she instantly obeyed as Gabe reached over and sliced the demon across the neck… beheading it.

“Teamwork,” grinned Elena, getting to her feet. “Come on let’s go… we’re not done yet.”

------

“Son of a bitch,” growled Nik and he drove his elbow backwards into the face of the approaching demon before swinging his other arm up and grabbed one flying by. He dragged it to the ground, snapping its neck. He turned and smiled as Alyssa was beheading the one he’d hit in the face.

“They’re everywhere,” she said.

“I know,” he called back. “Just keep at it…”

------

“He’s just watching us,” commented Sergi as he and Lionel worked their way through hordes of demons. “Well watching Lex and Chloe specifically.”

Lionel stole a glance at Oliver while ripping the head off another demon that had sprouted from the sand. “He’s waiting… waiting for us to tire. There are thousands of these demons he’s just going to let them attack and he’ll watch while we tire ourselves out destroying them.”

“We need to draw him into the fight. He is weak from the battle with Clark and the trip brought on by the transportation spell,” said Sergi.

“I know,” murmured Lionel as he quickly snapped the neck of another demon.

‘Lex… you and Chloe need to draw Oliver out. Goad him, tease him, I don’t care, just get him involved…’

“We need to do something,” Lex called out to Chloe.

“What? Decapitating demons isn’t enough of ‘something’ for you,” she quipped back.

Lex couldn’t help the grin that appeared on his face. Even in the middle of all this Chloe could still be snarky.

“We need to draw Oliver into the battle,” he continued while the two of them took care of more demons. “He’s just hovering around watching all of us tire as we take care of all these demons. Which you have to admit aren’t really putting up much of a fight.”

Chloe glanced around her, while yes there were lots of the demons as Lex had said they were being destroyed rather easily. It was just the sheer volume of them that would cause the problems. “So what do you suggest?” she asked.

“He may be a megalomaniac psychotic demon hell bent on world domination,” said Lex. “But he is also an egotistical bastard. He hates to be proven wrong.”

“He is male Lex,” quipped Chloe. “You are all egotistical.” And she couldn’t believe she was having this discussion in the middle of a desert with a battle between vampires and demons going on around her.

They shared a look and then moved from where they were to stand in front of the hovering Oliver. Nikolas, Alyssa and Lucas moved closer to Lex and Chloe and began dispatching the demons that where around them.

“Enjoying the view,” Chloe shouted up.

Red eyes fixed on her and a smile appeared on Oliver’s face. “Miss Sullivan how delightful it is to see you again. I’ve been dreaming of this moment… although chains, whips and a lot more blood were involved in my dreams. But there’s still time to get to that later…”

“What? When you’ve finished floating around like a coward,” she shot back. “Big powerful demon like you I would have thought liked to get his hands dirty so to speak.”

Oliver narrowed his eyes but didn’t move from his position.

“I don’t think so,” muttered Lex grabbing the demon that flew towards Chloe. He quickly dispatched of it and kept one eye on Chloe and the other on any more incoming threats.

“But no,” continued Chloe, her voice taking on a very sarcastic tone. You just float back and let others fight. And then when you are sure you can win then you’ll make your appearance. Wow that’s real power… I am so impressed.”

Oliver growled and floated a little lower.

“You are such a fake,” she said making a show of examining her nails. “I mean, think about it… I got away from you. I was able to plan an escape and almost made it as well. In fact, if I remember correctly and my mind was a little fuzzy at the time, *you* had to use drugs on me to keep me weak and placid and, oh yeah, even they didn’t work. And you know why, because you are pathetic… you were barely anyone when Dominic met you and turned you. I mean he wasn’t any great master vampire himself. Then Lex and Lucas killed you and by some freak of luck you got brought back as the so-called ‘powerful all conquering demon’,” she made ‘air-quotes’ on those last words and stared smugly at Oliver.

Oliver was incensed; he hated being reminded of Chloe’s escape and was even more incensed by the reminder that it was a half-breed vampire in the shape of Dominic that turned him.

Chloe watched him and knew she was getting to him. His eyes glowed red and he was moving closer to her. Lex stood very close behind her and she poised herself to duck and run should the enraged demon launch an attack.

“And let’s face it you wouldn’t be here today if it was for the Luthors. They killed the weak, pathetic, newly-turned; Dominic dominated sex-slave you were. And poor, pathetic Dominic needed his ‘boy-toy’ back so much that he dug up n ancient spell and brought you back,” she grinned at him. “So really you should be thanking Lex and his family…”

“That’s done it,” muttered Lex. “RUN!” He grabbed Chloe’s hand just as Oliver dove at them.

He crashed into both of them send Lex flying in one direction and Chloe in the other. Chloe quickly pulled herself up and looked to see where Oliver was.

“Watch out,” cried Lex diving through the air and hitting Oliver mid-dive as he was about to attack Chloe.

“I think I pissed him off,” muttered Chloe as she ran past Anna, grabbing a flaming touch from the vampiress’ hand.

Oliver and Lex were fighting… Lex threw his fist into the other demon’s face, snapping his head back. Seeing her chance Chloe launched forward and stuck the flaming torch into the back of Oliver’s head. The demon roared and threw Lex away from him.

Oliver roared and screamed something in a language that neither Chloe nor Lex understood. But as soon as he uttered the word the wind grew stronger and a *humming* sound echoed around them.

“NOW,” screamed Oliver and clapped his hands over his head.

Lightening streaked through the sky, illuminating all around them.

“This place was meant for me,” he growled at Lex and Chloe. “Can't you feel the power growing? And it’s growing because of me… More,” he cried. “I need more of you…”

And if on command the sands shifted and more demons sprung up. The numbers multiplied before their eyes.

Oliver floated slightly off the ground and threw his arms out. Lex and Chloe immediately braced themselves to attack but the wind blew up a sandstorm that blocked them.

------

“Oh this is not good,” muttered Tuyla as she watched the sandstorm blow up around Lex and Chloe. She glanced around her and saw all the others engaged in bloody battle with demons that seemed never ending in their number.

After confirming that Lucas was too busy to notice her she sneaked away… Making sure she avoided the demons. She headed for Lex and Chloe

Oliver was laughing maniacally and the sand swirled even more violently.

“It’s no good,” cried Lex, “we can’t get through it…”

Tuyla breathed hard as she looked nervously around her, “I can do this…” she said. “I have to do this…”

Steeling herself she jumped between Oliver ands the sandstorm he was raising.

“Out of my way little girl,” growled Oliver and moved to strike her.

“I don’t think so,” replied Tuyla through gritted teeth and held her hands out. Concentrating she drew on her own power and pushing forward she dispersed the sand storm and Oliver’s hand from hitting. She swayed after it had gone, the power draining her a little.

“Bitch,” hissed Oliver and this time his hand connecting with her face and sending her to the ground.

Tuyla rolled onto her back and spat out the blood that filled her mouth. She looked up fearfully at the approaching demon and she tried to scramble away from him.

“NNNOOO,” screamed Lucas as he ran towards them, pushing demons out of his way.

Lex and Chloe, as well, rushed to the young girl’s assistance.

Just as they got to Oliver he looked up and smirked at them, “Perfect…”

He pointed at the sky and screamed… loudly. Tuyla, Lex and Chloe covered their ears. A rumbling sound grew louder and a ‘shield’ grew around the area where the four of them where.

“What?” screamed Lucas as he hit it, unable to get to his brother and the others. He smashed his fists against it, but it did nothing. Then he had to turn his attention away as demons attacked him.

“Now this is cosy…” grinned Oliver looking at them.

“Any time now Altair would be perfect,” murmured Chloe.

Oliver ignored Tuyla a she stalked towards Lex and Chloe. “Time to finish this…”

--------------------------------------------------

Outside the *shield* the others watched as Oliver approached Lex and Chloe.

“They’re on their own,” muttered Lionel.

“The demons have stopped growing in numbers,” cried out Nikolas.

“Lucas, keep watch on what’s going on in there,” shouted Lionel. “Every one else, destroy what’s left of the demons. We need them to be gone before we can help Lex and Chloe.”

He swiftly dispatched of two demons advancing on him. ‘Hurry up Lillian,’ he said. ‘We need you here.’ He had been trying to contact his wife since Oliver landed, but so far… nothing.

------

Lucas slammed his fists over and over against the shield... watching helplessly… as Oliver advanced…

Chapter Two Hundred and Three – The Final Battle ~ Karnak Part 2

Oliver wasted no time and immediately launched an attack on Lex. Despite the speed and voracity of the attack Lex was ready and grabbed the demon by the wing. Oliver soared into the air, taking Lex with him as the young Luthor pummelled him in the back.

Chloe quickly made her way over to Tuyla, helping the young girl to her feet.

“We have to break this shield,” she said.

“With what,” asked Tuyla, “our bare hands?”

“Hey, you are the one with the power here.” Chloe glanced quickly up at Lex and Oliver, wincing as the demon hit Lex in the face.

“I… I can’t break through this,” said Tuyla, panic in her voice.

Chloe grabbed her by the shoulders. “You *have* to try Tuyla,” said Chloe. “Please…” And before the young girl could answer Chloe had taken off over the where Lex and Oliver fought in the air.

Tuyla looked around at the shimmering shield and shook her head. “I don’t even now where to start…”

--------------------------------------------------

“Son of *a* bitch,” growled Lucas grabbing the demon that tried to attack him and slamming him against the shield. The dazed demon grunted then screamed as Lucas snapped his neck.

He watched Chloe and Tuyla talking then as Chloe took off towards Lex while a bewildered Tuyla stood there looking around her.

Their eyes met and Tuyla made her way over to him. “I don’t know what to do,” she cried loudly as she reached the barrier.

Lucas could barely make out what she said. It sounded muffled and the screeches and cries around him didn’t help.

He was about to answer when the shield shook with the impact of Lex’s body hitting it…

“LEX, cried Lucas resuming his futile punching of the shield.
--------------------------------------------------

Oliver screamed as he managed to throw Lex away from him. His right wing was completely destroyed; it was only barely attached to his back thanks to Lex’s handy work. Oliver couldn’t understand why his healing powers hadn’t repaired it. In fact, so far, all the injuries he had received where very slow in healing, and the wing wasn’t at all. Although he felt satisfied at the *thump* Luthor made as he hit the shield.

Grimacing in pain he looked down as Chloe looked up at him.

“Your turn,” he cried triumphantly, sweeping down.

“I don’t fucking think so,” murmured Chloe and took out the horn and held it tightly in her right hand. She knew she couldn’t kill him with it; both horns had to be used at the same time in their specific places. But that didn’t mean she couldn’t use it to hurt him.

Bracing herself she swung out her arm and caught him in the shoulder as he reached her. He jerked back, howling and Chloe only just managed to rip the horn free. ‘Wouldn’t do to lose that,’ she thought.

“Bitch,” he hissed coming at her again.

Chloe turned and ran but he caught her quickly enough and they wrestled to the ground. She screamed as he clawed her side, ripping through her clothes and flesh.

Oliver grunted at the pain in his shoulder. His entire right arm felt like it was on fire. But at least he had injured Chloe. He smirked through the pain as he saw her crawl away… blood dripping from her side.

“Poor little girl, not so smart with your mouth now,” he teased. “Let me see how much more agony I can put you in…”

Before he could do anything a scream of agony was ripped from his mouth. He turned quickly to see Lex Luthor grinning at him with the remnants of his wing in his hands.

“Fly now you fucker,” said Lex and punched him in the solar plexus sending him skidding across the sand into the shield.

He quickly helped Chloe to her feet. “Are you ok?”

“No… not really,” she replied, “but I’ll survive.”

“See how Tuyla is doing,” he said. “I’m going to keep Oliver busy.” He kissed her cheek, “be strong,” he whispered and headed across the sand.

Chloe moved quickly as she could over to Tuyla who was chanting softly in front of a section of the shield. She could see the younger girl flinching each time a punch was thrown between Lex and Oliver… But to her credit she kept up her chanting.

Clasping her side she was slightly happy to see that the flow of the blood was almost stopped. But the pain was still excruciating. She locked eyes with Lucas on the other side of the shield.

“It’s ok,” she said the look of anguish on his face.

“No it’s not,” he said back, although she couldn’t really hear him that well.

Just then there was a humming sound and the shield *shimmered*. Chloe looked around her and for a moment it was like it *phased* out.

“Chloe…” cried Lex and turning she saw he had been pinned to the ground by Oliver.

“Keep going Tuyla, concentrate harder. I think you had something there,” she cried to the young girl before she took off running.

Gripping the horn in her hand and urge her legs to move faster. Ignoring the pain in her side and dove at the demon stabbing him in the shoulder, just were his wing had been ripped out. Oliver screamed and reared up, awkwardly rising off the ground… Chloe and the horn still attached to him.

Lex got to his feet, gingerly…. The wound in his chest was bleeding, but at least making a start in healing.

Oliver violently swayed from side to side. Chloe hung on, trying to dislodge the horn from his shoulder.

“I’m going to rip you apart,” growled Oliver backing towards the shield and slamming into it.

Chloe cried out as pain laced through her back.

“Tear the flesh from your body,” he continued, slamming over and over into the shield.

Chloe’s head swam and her vision blurred. Gritting her teeth she forced both her hands onto the horn and twisted it… hard.

Oliver screamed… the sound echoing off the shield and he sank to his knees. Groaning Chloe pulled the horn from his shoulder and fell to the ground… panting hard while the pain throbbed through her body.

Then once again, the shield shimmered.

“It’s like when we were in Scotland getting you,” said Lex, helping her to her feet. “Tuyla is breaking through, albeit slowly.”

A groan from Oliver turned their attention to him.

“Come on,” said Chloe in a shaky voice, “let’s attack while he’s still down…”

--------------------------------------------------

Lionel and the others had seen the shield shimmer the second time.

“Move closer to the shield,” he cried. “We need to be prepared to attack when the young girl makes her breakthrough.”

------

“Come on Tuyla,” cried Lucas, slamming his fists against the shield. “You can do it…”

Tuyla squeezed her eyes tighter and concentrated harder and harder. She could vaguely hear Lucas’ muffled voice.

‘Let yourself go,’ a voice sounded on the wind. Tuyla’s eyes flew open and she stopped her chanting, looking around her frantically. Breathing hard and her heart beating wildly in her chest she closed her eyes again and started chanting… her voice shaky and weak.

‘Let yourself go,’ the voice said again and in her mind’s eye she saw her great-great grandmother, Iset. She was dressed in a long white gown and smiling at her. A sense of calm settled over the young girl and she let her mind block out everything around her.

‘That’s it child,” smiled Iset, ‘let the power in you grow... You can do this…’

She disappeared and Tuyla’s eyes shot open.

On the other side of the shield Lucas gasped as Tuyla’s eyes turned black. He took a couple of steps back as she raised her eyes into the air and began chanting again… The increasing volume of the thunder and lightening that now echoed around the desert accompanied her words.

Lucas glanced around him to see that the demons were being taken care of and that their numbers were decreasing significantly. He then looked back to see Chloe and Lex battling with Oliver.

“Come on Tuyla,” he whispered. “I don’t know how much longer Lex and Chloe can hold out…”

------

Lionel paused, the dead body dropping from his hands.

‘Lionel, my love, we are close…’

“Lillian,” he whispered. ‘Hurry my darling… you are needed…’

--------------------------------------------------

With a grunt Oliver managed to throw Lex from him, although not very far. He kicked his leg out and caught Chloe in the knee, sending her buckling to the ground in pain.

“Well look at us now,” said Oliver, struggling to his own feet. His entire body ached and the fact his healing abilities weren’t working properly unnerved him. But at least Luthor and his whore mate looked in just as bad a shape.

Lex got to his feet, rubbing the back of his head and staring at his now bloodied hand. His own healing powers were working slower than normal. But it was Chloe he was the most worried for. She had taken quite a battering and didn’t have any healing powers. What she needed was some of his blood that would help her. But it wasn’t like they had the time to stop battling so she could take some.

“You don’t look so good Chloe,” continued Oliver, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “I wonder how much more of this you can take. You are only *human* after all.”

Out of the corner of his eye his saw Lex moving towards him.

Panting and clutching her side Chloe got to her feet. Her left knee buckling beneath her, but she managed to keep her footing.

Oliver opened his mouth to speak again but was stopped by the shield shimmering… this time for a longer period than before.

“What the fuck is going on?” the demon spat out looking around him. “No,” he growled, his red eyes falling on Tuyla. The young girl stood with her arms stretched pout over her head, chanting. “No,” he growled again and took off toward her.

“Stop him Lex,” Chloe cried out, “he’s after Tuyla…”

“NNNOOOO,” screamed Lucas, pounding against the now continuingly shimmering shield as he saw where Oliver was heading. “LEX HURRY,” he cried out. “Please…”

Lucas felt hands grab at him and turned to see four demons advanced on him. “I do not have time for this,” he muttered quickly attacking them. But he was distracted by the events behind the shield and one of the demons slashed him across the face. Lucas howled out in pain and grabbed the demon around the neck. “If that leaves a fucking scar I’ll raise you from the dead again to kill you more slowly,” he spat out before separating the demon’s head from its body. Focussing his concentration his got rid of the others attacking him.

Oliver was advancing on the unsuspecting Tuyla. She was too lost in the spell to notice him.

Lex pushed himself harder trying to get to him.

“NO,” cried Lex and Chloe at the same time as Oliver’s hand grabbed Tuyla’s hair.

But before Oliver could do any damage something came hurtling out of the sky at a ferocious speed, coming through the *roof* of the shield and slamming into the demon, sending the two of them across the desert floor.

“Clark,” Chloe cried out, “oh thank goodness…”

Both Lionel and Sergi breathed sighs of relief as their mates came running across the desert, both sending messages echoing the same. There wasn’t time for proper welcomes; they still had a battle to finish.

“You again,” snarled Oliver, punching at Clark.

“Miss me,” quipped Clark, catching the demon’s hand easily and retaliating with a punch of his own.

“Nice timing Kent,” said Lex as he reached them. “Quick hold him, Chloe and I need to finish this.”

Oliver started thrashing about as Clark pinned him to the ground.

“Hold his legs,” Clark grunted out as he held Oliver’s arms down and pushed his knee harder against the demon’s chest.

“Hurry Chloe,” Lex called out as he held Oliver’s legs.

“I am,” she muttered as she pushed and forced her aching and battered body across the desert.

The shield was beginning to crack… fissures appearing all over it as the power holding it faded.

Chloe made her way to Lex.

“Clark, Lex and I have to do this… which means you need to take off as soon as we are ready to plunge the horns in.” She turned to Lex, “it’s going to have to be pretty quick and exact, and we are so not going to get another chance at this.”

Oliver began panicking… some kind of survival instinct kicked in and he buckled harder against Lex and Clark. This was wrong, he wasn’t supposed to fail.

“No,” he growled thrashing harder.

“Shut up,” said Clark, pushing his knee harder.

------

Karl, Anna, Gabe and Claudio joined Lucas at the fading shield… but the still couldn’t actually ‘walk’ though it. All around them the demons that came from the sky and sand were disappearing.

“Oliver’s power is fading,” cried Elena as she joined them.

“TUYLA,” Lucas called out as the young girl fell to the ground.

There was a loud explosion and a flash of lightening and the shield completely disappeared.

Lucas immediately ran to Tuyla, picking her up in his arms.

“So tired,” she murmured, turning her head into his chest.

Lucas breathed a sigh of relief that she was still alive.

“Don’t venture any further,” cried Lillian as everyone entered the area where Oliver was being held.

“Form a circle around them,” said Lionel. “Lucas, the girl will be ok… she is just exhausted. We need you in the circle.”

Lucas looked around and then gently laid the sleeping girl on the ground. He checked again to make sure no demons were lingering and we he was satisfied they were gone he shrugged off what was left of his jacket and draped it over Tuyla. “I’ll be back soon,” he whispered, kissing her forehead then quickly running off to join his father.

Soon everyone formed a circle. Some of them, Karl, Claudio, Nik especially needed help as they were badly wounded, but nothing was stopping them from joining the others surrounding Lex, Chloe, Clark and Oliver…. They all stood…. And waited!

------

Chloe took out the horn and held it tightly in her hand. Lex did the same.

“Between the eyes and the heart,” murmured Chloe a few times almost like a mantra.

“Clark I’m going to get up,” said Lex. “Can you hold him?”

Clark nodded.

Lex jumped up and immediately Oliver’s legs began thrashing

He rounded the two of them till he was looking down at Oliver’s face… “It’s over,” he said, reaching into his pocket he pulled out the piece of wall with Chloe’s blood on it. “I’m not 100% sure why I brought this... but now, seeing you lying there, beaten I now know what to do with it.

“As soon as this freak gets off me I’ll get you, you and your whore… you aren’t powerful enough to hold me,” snapped Oliver.

“On my mark Clark,” said Lex. “Chloe stand beside me.”

Gripping the horn in his left hand and the piece of wall in the other he shared a look with Chloe, taking in her bloodied and bruised face. “Ready…”

“More than,” she replied.

“Be prepared,” they heard Sergi shout. “Oliver must not get through…”

“I’ll kill you all,” screamed the demon.

“Now Clark,” cried Lex and Clark immediately flew up into the air, landing quickly beside Alyssa.

Oliver jumped to his feet but before he could do anything, Lex leapt forward and rammed the piece of wall into his mouth. Oliver staggered back, clutching his throat and the obstruction lodged itself there. ‘This is wrong,’ his mind screamed, ’I don’t need to breathe, so why is this choking me…’

He dropped to his knees… His red eyes wide open, hands clawing at his throat.

“NOW CHLOE,” shouted Lex and the two of them ran at him.

“Now,” said Chloe and they both slammed their arms down at the same time. Lex rammed the horn between Oliver’s eyes and Chloe stabbed the one in her hand into the cavity where his black heart lay.

Cracks appeared in Oliver’s skin and Lex and Chloe jumped back.

His hands clawed at the horns and then back again to his throat… The air around grew misty.

“About time,” muttered Chloe, slumping against Lex.

Ghostly figures filled the air, flying around and between the other in the circle.

Oliver couldn’t scream… the pain was too much… His body felt like it was splitting apart. Ghostly figures flew around him, the mist touching his skin, burning him.

‘Capture it… capture it,’ the voices said.

All the ghostly figures flew around and around the demon. Flames burst from his skin… thick black blood flowed from his body. The figures flew faster till they were like a single entity enshrouding Oliver.

‘NOW,’ they cried and a bright blue light exploded around them, causing everyone to shield their eyes…

It was a couple of minutes later before the glare disappeared. As everyone opened their eyes they saw Oliver and the ghostly figures were gone… a scorch mark was all that remained of what had happened.

“It’s over,” cried Natasha, falling into Sergi’s arms.

“It’s over.” The phrase was uttered by everyone as they hugged and kissed their loved ones.

A rumbling sounded around them and from the sand Altair emerged. “I knew I could count on a Luthor,” he said, his voice echoing around them. “And a Sullivan,” he added, smiling at Chloe.

“A bit late aren’t you,” quipped Chloe, leaning against Lex.

“I believe my timing is perfect… And it’s time for you all to go home…” Once again a bright light filled the desert and when it faded everyone was standing in front of the Luthor castle in Smallville..

Chapter Two Hundred and Four – The End

It took a few moments for everything to sink in. And then there were equal measures of pained and joyful cries.

“We need to get Byron to check you out,” shouted Lex over the crowed as he lifted Chloe into his arms.

“I can walk Lex,” she said, her voice pained.

“I’m sure you can,” he said to her, “but I like carrying you…” he added with a smirk.

“Your bruises are still healing slowly,” she said, gently brushing her hand over the one under his eye.

Lex looked around at the others as they made their way into the house. They all looked the worse for wear; even Clark was sporting some bruises.

“I think that place slowed down our healing powers,” he said. “I’m sure Byron and Claudio will have theories about it. But first we need to get you looked at.”

“Nik and Karl don’t look so good,” she said, looking over his shoulder as he carried her through the house. “Neither does Claudio,” she added, watching as Lynette and Clark helped to carry the older vampire into the house. In fact now that she got a better look at him, he didn’t look good at all. There was a wound in his neck and it was still bleeding. ‘That can’t be good for a vampire,’ she thought.

“Oh Nik, oh darling,” cried Christine running through the house and meeting them. She threw herself into her husband’s arms, sobbing at the sight of the blood flowing from his left eye.

Nikolas let out an ‘oof’ but held his wife close, ignoring the pain that laced his body. “I’m ok, I’m ok,” he murmured as he placed kisses over her face.

“Oh my goodness, look at you all,” panted Byron as he met them. “Quick, get the most injured into the main living room. I’ve had it prepared for this kind of thing for the last few hours. Quickly, come now.”

“Do you need help Byron?” asked Anna, approaching him.

“Are you up to it?” he asked.

“I’m fine, a few scratches and bruises but nothing major.”

“Good. Ok then, yes I could most certainly do with your help…”

“She’s resting now,” said Byron, smiling at Lex.

“But she is ok…”

“She is fine… Yes she lost a lot of blood, but the blood you gave her helped a lot. The rest will help her regain her strength.”

Lex let out a sigh of relief. It had been a couple of hours since they *transported* from Karnak and finally Chloe was resting. She still looked very pale, but at least she wasn’t in pain anymore.

He looked over his shoulder at the Romanov family huddled in the corner. Nik’s eye hadn’t healed fully. His vision was reduced to about 60% in that eye and he was left with a scar running from his eyebrow to halfway down his cheek. Natasha and Christine burst into tears at the news but Nikolas had reassured them that he was ok…

“You look like a serious bad ass now, you’re not such a pretty boy,” Alyssa had joked, lifting the sombre mood.

Lex looked over the other side of the room where a curtained off area kept Claudio from view. He was not doing so good… no matter what Byron or anyone did they could not stop the blood flowing from his neck. The vampire was slowly bleeding out… Lynette currently was with him and Lex had just seen his father enter the area.

“You look like crap Lex… Go shower, change and then you can come back and sit with your mate.”

“But…”

“Go on Lex…” said Gabe appearing at his side. “I’ll sit with her till you get back.” He smiled at him and squeezed his shoulder.

“Ok…” nodded Lex. “But if there…”

“If she moves I will come and get you,” said Gabe, gently pushing him towards the door.

Lex spared one last lingering glance at Chloe and then left the room. Sighing Gabe took the seat beside his daughter and held her hand.

“Are you ok?” Byron asked him.

“I’m a little sore, but relieved it’s over,” replied Gabe. “She is going to be ok, isn’t she?”

“Yes… Gabe I wouldn't lie to you or Lex.”

--------------------------------------------------

“Lynette, what don’t you get some air,” said Claudio in a soft voice. “I want to talk to Lionel for a moment.”

The vampiress looked between Lionel and Claudio…

“Please Lynette,” said Claudio.

“Ok,” she stood up and touched his hand gently. “Call me when you are done,” she said to Lionel before turning and leaving the area.

“I’m dying Lionel,” he said. “I don’t have much time left.”

Lionel looked at him, a sad smile on his lips. “What do you want me to do?”

“I want my ‘remains’ buried in Hungary, in the plot of my family.”

“It will be done. Is there anything else?”

“Yes,” Claudio drew in a pained shaky breath. “I want you to take Lynette under the protection of your family. Let the vampire world know that she is one of yours.”

“I was going to do that anyway Claudio,” replied Lionel. “She has more than proven herself since you brought her here. I was always going to extend the offer she join us when this was over. Beside I think Byron is quite taken with her.”

Claudio chuckled which sent him into a coughing fit, causing the blood to flow faster from his body.

“Not long left,” he said. “Will you tell the Romanovs I want to see them? I’d like to say my goodbyes.”

“Of course Claudio, also I wanted to say thank you for all your help…” said Lionel, patting the other vampire gently on the shoulder.

“Least I could do,” he replied softly, closing his eyes.

Lionel stared at him for a moment then left to get the Romanovs.

--------------------------------------------------

An hour later everyone, including Chloe, who had woken up, had said their goodbyes to Claudio. The older vampire didn’t have much time left. As Lillian and Lucas, the last to see him left the area Lynette entered it once again and sat beside his bed… his hand in hers.

------

“I have instructed the staff to lay on a dinner tonight,” said Lillian. “We will celebrate our victory and Claudio’s life. It was his wish.”

“That sounds like a good idea mom,” said Lucas.

“Chloe, why don’t you call Clark and tell him to come back to the castle,” said Lionel. “He deserves to be here as well.”

“I’ll call him,” said Gabe. “You rest sweetheart.”

“I am fine,” she said. “I wish people would stop telling me to rest.” She stood up and gave a little spin. “See, fine, didn’t fall over. Didn’t grimace in pain,” although the pull on the wound in her side did hurt like hell.

“Can we dress for dinner,” piped up Elena, taking the attention from Chloe, an act that earned a smile of relief from Chloe to her friend.

“That sounds like a delightful idea,” said Natasha. “I think we should all dress for dinner, really make an occasion of it.”

“I have some clothes that will fit you Tuyla,” Chloe said to the young Egyptian girl. “And if there isn’t anything there that you like I’m sure Elena or Alyssa would have something.”

“Thank you Chloe,” she said with a smile. She had been rather overwhelmed since arriving at the Smallville castle… but thanks to everyone especially Chloe and Lucas she was beginning to feel like she fit in.

“Ok, that is settled then. We dress for dinner,” smiled Lillian.

--------------------------------------------------

Within forty minutes and just after Clark had arrived back at the castle, Claudio ‘died’. His body completely bled out and he crumbled to ash. Lynette had run from the room, crying out ‘he’s gone.’ Sergi and Lex gathered Claudio’s ashes in a bronze urn and placed them in the safe in Lionel’s office. They would be brought and laid in the crypt in Hungary as requested by Claudio.

Alyssa was very upset at the passing of her godfather, and Clark took the sobbing vampiress into his arms.

Then Natasha gave a speech about Claudio’s life, and how he had always wanted to make amends for his actions during the first great vampire war. Being able to help in the build up and the actual battle with Oliver was everything he wanted. And if his time were to come to an end, reaching it by being on the winning side against Oliver would be how he wanted to go out.

“We should celebrate what he did, not wallow in his demise,” said Natasha. “We survived a great battle, and yes there were causalities but considering what we were up against, they were small in number. We will raise a toast to Claudio, and then we shall celebrate our victory…”

“Here, here,” Lucas called out, and everyone left to change for dinner.

--------------------------------------------------

“Are you sure you are up to this,” asked Lex as he watched Chloe gingerly put on her shoes. She looked sharply at him. “Ok and I can see by the venom in that look that you are,” he added with a chuckle.

“What happens now Lex?” she asked, standing up and smoothing down the front of her apple green silk dress.

“Whatever you want to happen sweetheart, with Oliver gone things in the vampire world will quieten down, and hopefully will stay like that for a few centuries. We can do whatever you want. You can go back and finish school and then on to college if you like, or I can make good on my promise to show you the world. It’s up to you.”

“Up to me eh… I like the sound of that,” she grinned.

Lex smiled and took her in to his arms.

--------------------------------------------------

Thirty Minutes Later

“Close your mouth Lucas, you’re drooling,” teased Chloe as Tuyla entered the dining room with Gabe and Anna.

His hand was halfway to his mouth when he realised what he was doing and turned to glare at Chloe. “I do not drool Chloe.”

“She looks really good. That ivory dress really suits her colouring.”

“I think Lex is looking for you,” said Lucas.

“No he’s not and stop changing the subject.”

“Well I think my mother is looking for me, bye Chlo.”

Chloe laughed as she watched Lucas hurry away… Oh yes teasing him about Tuyla was fun.

“Hi sweetheart,” grinned Gabe kissing Chloe’s cheek. “Are you feeling ok?”

“I’m fine dad,” she replied.

Father and daughter stood side-by-side looking at the others scattered around the dining room. “It’s been a crazy year,” murmured Chloe.

“And then some,” added Gabe. “Do you regret anything?”

“No,” answered Chloe immediately. “Although I could have done without Dominic and then there was the explosion at the plant that nearly killed you. Plus my kidnapping and the whole war with Oliver, but other than that everything was great.”

Gabe chuckled softly beside her. He caught Anna’s eye and she smiled over at him.

“I bet Anna’s not a regret,” teased Chloe, nudging Gabe with her shoulder.

“Besides you being safe and happy, Anna is the best thing to have happened to me,” he replied. “I love her Chloe.”

“I hope you plan on making an honest woman of her dad,” she said, her tone equal parts joking and serious.

“I do,” he replied softly.

With a smile Chloe pulled her dad into a hug. “Here’s to an even better future for the Sullivan team,” she whispered.

“I’ll second that,” murmured Gabe.

--------------------------------------------------

“Can everyone ensure their glasses are full,” said Lionel about an hour later, holding up his own full glass of champagne.

There were murmurs and sounds of glasses being filled for a few moments before everyone turned to face Lionel, their glasses full.

Lillian stood beside her husband, her arm linked in his. Chloe and Lex stood hand in hand, with Karl and Elena in the same position beside them. The Romanovs stood altogether, Byron and Lynette with them, Clark stood next to Alyssa. Lucas and Tuyla stood beside Gabe and Anna.

“Family and friends,” began Lionel. “It has been the most trying of years. But we came through it, albeit a little battered and bruised. We lost a good ally and a friend in Claudio. I ask you all to raise your glasses. To Claudio,” he said.

“To Claudio,” everyone echoed, raising their own glasses into the air. Then there was a moment’s silence as Claudio was remembered.

“I want to personally extend my thanks to everyone,” continued Lionel a few moments later. “All of you here, the wonderful Heike in Germany and Didier and his team. To all the friends and colleagues who showed incredible loyalty and bravery through every step of the way. With out them we would have not been victorious. Here is to friends and family…and for a few decades of peace and quiet.” And once again everyone raised their glasses, this time with cheers and laughs.

“On personal level this has been a rewarding year, despite maniacal demons hell bent on world domination,” said Lionel with a chuckle. “My dearest friends Sergi and Natasha welcomed their first grandchild, and a most welcome addition to the Romanov family she has been. Through Karl we met the wonderful Elena, who by extension, has been a welcome addition to the Luthor family,” he smiled at the young vampiress. “An old friend made a return to the fold,” he turned his attention to Anna, who smiled as she clutched Gabe’s arm. “Gabe, it has been an honour to know you and I wish you and Anna the greatest of happy lives together. We met a very interesting character in Clark, and I hope you’ll continue to be a help and a friend to us,” Lionel grinned at Clark’s nod. “And last but not least a proper welcome to the newest friend to our fold, Tuyla. Who proved to be an invaluable help in achieving our victory.” Once again glasses were raised and cheers rang out.

“Perhaps even more importantly Lillian and I have watched our two sons really mature over the last year,” Lionel resumed his speech when the noise quietened down. “Lex and Lucas you have made your mother and I incredibly proud. Despite a less than perfect start to our lives here in Smallville the two of you have proven yourselves time and time again, and I would have not made it through all this without the two of you beside me.” He looked at his two sons, and that pride swelled within him. “And of course I offer my own personal thanks to my wife, my mate, my love Lillian, as always my rock of strength in everything I do. I love you my dear…” He kissed his wife softly, claps and whistles echoing around the room.

“Finally, the greatest event of the year was Chloe’s entrance to our family. You had Lillian and Lucas’ attention from the start, and I found myself under your spell the moment I met you.” He looked at Chloe who was blushing and trying to hide her face against Lex’s shoulder. “Granted it took Lex a little longer,” everyone laughed. “Presiding over your mating ceremony rates alongside my own mating and the birth of my sons as one the greatest moments in my long life. I feel very proud to have you carry the name Luthor, and I look forward to my grandchildren. You have brought a joy to our lives and Lillian and I love you as if you were our own. To Chloe.”

“Here, here,” cried Lex, pulling her into his arms and kissing her.

“Well done sweetheart,” said Gabe, tears in his eyes.

The applause and cheers lasted for at least ten minutes.

“Ok, let us really get this party going,” cried Lillian when everyone settled down.

--------------------------------------------------

Hours later Lex and Chloe lay in each others arms, their bodies cooling from their love making.

“Lex,” she said softly.

“MMM,” he replied completely sated.

“I’ve decided what I want to do,” she said.

Lex shifted and rolled onto his side, propping himself up on his elbow and looked down at Chloe.

“I want to finish school… there’s only a few months left. I do still want to go to college; I’d like to get my journalism degree but not quite yet. When I’ve finished school, I want to travel the world… I’d like you and I to get away for a while, just the two of us.”

“I like the sound of that,” replied Lex softly, “especially the ‘just the two of us’ bit.” He lowered his head and kissed her.

“I love you,” she said when they parted.

“I love you too,” smiled Lex. “For eternity…”

--------------------------------------------------

In a cave deep under the desert in Egypt a weary Altair settled himself down. The balance had been restored between the vampire and mortal world once more.

“Here’s to a few centuries of peace,” he murmured to himself. The flaming torches that were dotted around the cave one by one blew out till it was plunged into darkness, and the ancient demon, once again, settled into his hibernation…

Fiona, excellent end to this fic. I can't believe it's over ( except for the epilogue). Poor Claudio. Can't wait to read the epilogue.

Oh Claudio managed to get me on his side just before he died. I'm sad to see him go but he did lead a full life and died the way he wanted. Glad everyone else survived even if they'll have scars and whatnot. Loved it when Chloe teased Lucas, it's always great when Lucas gets teased. Oh I nearly forgot, did he finish his joke on Lana and Nell? Because if he didn't, then showing up with Tuyla will really screw them over. I'm wondering when Chloe is going to fully become a vampire, is it before or after she's done with college? Oh just the epilogue is left and then it's really over and that's hard for me to understand, I can't imagine what it must be like for you.

That was great and also sad as it was the last chapter! Poor Claudio but considering I had thought there was going to be a few more deaths it wasn't too bad. Thanks for writing such a wonderful story Fiona and to write it for so long you must feel a little lost now. I would love to read Chloe becoming a vampire. Maybe you will write it but I know it won't be for a while. Looking forward to the epilogue. :D

First apologies for not posting this sooner but I wasn't happy with it and had to make changes.... So here it is the Epilogue to Sanguis... I want to send a big thanks to Hope and Imp for the consistent words of encouragement and for looking over every chapter before it was fit to be posted.... Second I want to express my heartfelt thanks to every one who has read and left a note.... Your support it was kept me going and I truly treasured every word you wrote... I will admit to shedding a tear when writing this.... but I'm ok now LOL... There will be a sequel, but I'm not sure when that will start... I have other fandoms that I'm dying to try and besides I think my Chlex muse could do with a rest.... Again hugs and kisses and infinite thanks to all the Sanguis groupies...

Epilogue – The Embrace

Chloe and Clark did graduate from high school. Then four weeks after that event almost everyone left Smallville. Sergi, Natasha, Lionel and Lillian headed back to Europe. Nik, Christine, the baby and Alyssa stayed in the castle. Though Alyssa’s reasons for staying had more to do with Clark Kent than anything else.

Lucas accompanied Gabe and Anna in returning Tuyla back to Egypt. After spending some time there Anna and Gabe headed off on their own travels. Lucas hung around Egypt for a while before leaving to join his parents in France. He figured he needed some time away from the young Egyptian girl, time to figure things out.

Byron accompanied Lynette on a trip to Hungary to place Claudio’s ashes in his family crypt. Then the pair headed to England to start work on Byron’s memoirs.

Karl and Elena, Lex and Chloe set off on their trip around the world. The two couples travelled together for a while before splitting up and heading off on their own.

There had been murmurs around Smallville as to why the Luthors left so quickly… The most lurid reasons came from Lana Lang and her aunt… the favourite reason been that Chloe was pregnant and she was rushed away for either an abortion or to have it in secret as not to bring shame on the Luthor name. But these rumours were soon stopped by Clark who along with Alyssa made the pair tell everyone that those stories where made up.

After that things settled down in Smallville. Clark left to attend college with Pete in Metropolis. Lana went to the local Smallville college and she and her aunt *regained* their status in Smallville after the Luthors left. Lucas played both women against each other for a while by sending rather lurid emails to both and then sending the wrong ones to the other just to spice things up. But eventually aunt and niece made up and things settled down.

Alyssa, her brother and sister-in-law hung around Smallville for a few more months before Nik and Christine headed to Europe with the baby. Alyssa stayed on a little longer in the castle before she left to first spend some time in Metropolis with Clark and then head off to meet up with her parents. But she and Clark kept in touch.

------

Three years later the ‘marriage’ of Lex Luthor and Chloe Sullivan was announced in the society pages. And a lavish show of a wedding party was put on. Lana refused to speak to Clark for weeks after she discovered he had been invited to what was the social event of the year. Also the pictures of Lucas Luthor with a very attractive young Egyptian girl on his arm caused tensions once again in the Lang house.

------

Shortly after the wedding a massive heart attack almost killed Gabe. It was while he was recovering he decided it was time he became a vampire, a decision completely supported by Anna who thought she was going to lose another man she loved. A small ceremony was held in Europe and Sergi was the vampire of choice to turn Gabe. For Chloe it had been a strange experience, and it took her a while to get use to her dad as a vampire, but the ceremony had got her thinking about her own changing.

Byron’s health was failing as he entered his 90th year, but he still refused the offer of being turned… Instead thanks to Lynette’s help and Claudio’s magic books Byron would get to live for a while longer.

After that things quietened down, and the Luthors and their extending family enjoyed quiet life… Except for the odd moment where a certain ‘Superman’ called by or needed their help…

--------------------------------------------------

TEN YEARS AFTER THE WAR

The cavalcade of limousines travelled along the back roads of Smallville towards the imposing estate of Luthor Castle. This was the first time in ten years that everyone would be in Smallville at the same time.

But this gathering was for a very special occasion… Chloe Sullivan-Luthor was about to be embraced fully into the Luthor family. She was going to become a vampire. And as per her wishes, Sergi, his family, Karl and Elena, Clark and Tuyla as well as her dad and Anna and of course the Luthors would be there to witness it.

“Nervous,” said Lex, tightening her hand in his.

“Yeah, a lot,” replied Chloe with a smile. “But I’m also really excited about it.”

“I am very much looking forward to it… My demon is metaphysically turning cartwheels,” said Lex with a grin, lifting their joined hands and kissing her knuckles.

“Thanks for being so patient with me over the last few years.”

“Sweetheart, I told you at the very start that this was all your decision. That we would go as fast or as slow as you wanted. Hell if you wanted to wait another twenty years it would be fine.”

“I know, and I love you for that. I just needed to get past this mental block I had that when I became a vampire I would immediately have to start having children. But after conversations with you and mainly Lillian the fact I will have another hundred years before worrying about not seeing my feet I was ok to go ahead with it,” laughed Chloe.

“We have eternity Chloe,” said Lex. “We can afford to take our time…”

--------------------------------------------------

“The servants have done wonders,” said Lillian as she and Lionel walked though the castle. “You’d hardly believe there hasn’t been anyone here in over five years.”

“I would have put the place on the market ages ago only for Chloe,” said Lionel. “She said it held good memories.”

“That girl has all of us wrapped around her finger,” chuckled Lillian. “Oh Lionel I am so happy she is going to be embraced.”

“Me too my darling,” he replied.

--------------------------------------------------

“Feels kind of strange being back here,” said Lucas.

“Yeah it is kind of weird,” said Karl. “So how are things between you and Tuyla,” he asked looking over the balcony at Elena and Tuyla who were talking.

“They are fine,” replied Lucas through gritted teeth. “And stop laughing,” he snapped at Karl.

“I’m not laughing,” although his voice betrayed him. “Come on Lucas we all know things are going slowly… very slowly. Maybe you’ve got the wrong girl, or…”

“Shut up Karl. I have not got the wrong girl. Tuyla is just torn between me and her allegiance to Altair… And that stupid demon is fucking up my love life…”

“He hasn’t been heard from in ten years…”

“But he still communicates with Tuyla, and at the most inopportune moments. All the while through the claiming I kept expecting him to make an appearance… it was not pleasant… And on top of that Tuyla wants to wait before we have our mating ceremony. Then the real clincher is that she spends two thirds of her time at the fucking site in Karnak… I love her Karl I really do, and I know she loves me, it’s just that, you know me I HATE waiting.”

“Oooh you’re sounding very frustrated there bro…” teased Karl.

“SHUT. UP. KARL,” growled Lucas.

--------------------------------------------------

“Here you are Chloe,” said Lillian a few hours later when everyone was settled in.

“What’s this?” she asked taking the box from Lillian’s hand.

“Open it,” urged Lillian, a smile on her face.

Chloe placed the box on the table and quickly undid the ribbon. She opened the box and after peeling back a few layers of tissue paper reached silk.

“Wow,” she breathed as she lifted out the midnight blue satin dress. “Lillian, this is absolutely beautiful,” she gasped, holding the dress up to her.

“My gift to you,” she smiled. “I would like you to wear it for the ceremony… unless of course you had something else I mind.”

“No, no, not at all. Lillian I’d be honoured to wear this.”

“I am so proud of you Chloe and couldn’t be happier that you are ready to take this final step.” She crossed over to Chloe and kissed her on the forehead.

“I’m ready to do this,” she replied. “Yes I am still nervous but it feels right. I spent a long time talking to my dad about how it was for him, you know just to get some idea of what to expect. I’ve also spoken with Elena.”

“It is different for everyone Chloe. I’m not trying to put doubts in your mind I just want you to know everything.”

“I know that Lillian. Dad and Elena were both changed because their lives were on the line. While for me it’s my choice. I just want to be fully prepared.”

Lillian smiled at her. “You can still back out if you like. At a few minutes to midnight I will come to bring to the hall where the ceremony will take place. I have a few things to take care of now unless you would like me to stay…”

“It’s ok… Elena, Tuyla and Alyssa are coming to keep me company and to make sure Lex and I don’t sneak off to meet each other. It’s like a wedding the groom not allowed to see the bride beforehand.”

“It’s an ancient vampire custom between a human and vampire pair…that when the human is to be embraced he or she doesn’t see their mate until the ceremony. I think over the centuries humans have adopted it as their *own* custom. Call for me Chloe if you need anything.”

“I will Lillian, and thank you, for everything,” Chloe smiled and kissed the older woman’s cheek.

--------------------------------------------------

“Feeling nervous Lex,” said Nik, slapping him on the shoulder.

“No, well not for me but I am for Chloe,” he replied, handing the other vampire a drink.

“That’s understandable. What are you going to do afterwards…”

Lex smirked at him

“Not right after the ceremony, jeez Lex, I’d expect that from Lucas.” Nik rolled his eyes.

“We are getting our own place. Chloe fell in love with Ireland when we visited there a few years ago. So we are buying a place in the west of Ireland. She has all these plans for it… so that will keep her busy while I work with dad. We are also inviting Lucas and Tuyla with us to the Far East… Hopefully to help speed things along between them.”

Nik chuckled and was about to answer when his ten-year-old daughter came running up.

“Daddy, daddy.”

“Hi sweetheart,” he grinned lifting her into his arms.

“Hi Lex,” said Mila, smiling at him.

“You look very nice Mila,” grinned Lex.

“Auntie Anna and Uncle Gabe bought it for me.”

Mila was slowly showing signs of her demon awakening… direct bright sunlight caused her to break out and her senses were becoming stronger. Over the next eight years she would go through her vampire ‘puberty’ and fully embrace her vampire nature.

‘I’m heading up to collect Chloe now,’ Lillian’s voice echoed in his mind. He glanced over and saw his mother leaving the room just as Elena, Tuyla and Alyssa entered. All three smiled and winked at him.

“Show time is almost upon us,” murmured Nik. “Come on sweetheart,” he said to his daughter, “let’s find mommy.”

Heavy red drapes covered the windows and with all the candles that were lit it gave the room a reddish hue, quite apt considering what was going to happen.

Gabe moved to stand beside Lex while Lionel moved to the centre of the room and everyone circled around him… They all waited for Chloe…

--------------------------------------------------

“Chloe you look beautiful,” said Lillian as Chloe exited her room. The dress she had given her suited her perfectly. It clung in all the right places, and the delicate shoulder straps sparkled with the crystals that adorned them. She wore no jewellery save for her wedding and engagement rings and her hair, which now reached her shoulders, was pulled back in an elaborate chignon, courtesy of Alyssa.

“How are you feeling?”

“Surprisingly ok,” replied Chloe. “A little nervous but I was more nervous before my mating ceremony.”

Lillian smiled as the two of them descended the stairs.

They chatted amiably as they made their way to the hall, and instead of getting more nervous the closer they got, Chloe found herself feeling more and more calm. Lillian smiled to herself as she heard the steady slow beat of Chloe’s heart.

“You have chosen the right time,” she said when they reached the door.

The doors opened and Lillian led Chloe into the candle lit room.

Chloe smiled at those gathered around, and winked at Clark and Alyssa who stood hand in hand. Lillian directed her towards Gabe and Lex. She then kissed Chloe’s forehead and left her to join Lucas.

“I am so happy for you sweetheart,” grinned Gabe hugging her tightly. When he released her his eyes flashed gold and Chloe couldn’t help but laugh.

He hugged her once more before stepping away to join Anna.

“Ready?” asked Lex, lifting her hand and kissing her knuckles gently. “And you look absolutely beautiful…”

“Very ready,” she replied. “And thank you…”

He linked their fingers together and led her to his father who stood in the centre of the room. Beside Lionel was a rather expensive and comfortable looking chaise longue.

The smile on Lionel’s face grew when she reached him.

“Friends, once again we are gathered here for a very special occasion. Chloe is taking the final step and is going to embrace a vampire nature.”

There was applause from the others in the room.

Lionel vamped out and turned to face Lex. “Lex, do you concede to allow me to drink your mate’s blood. Do you and your demon understand that this is not a challenge to your claim and that Chloe is still yours? Do you accept that this exchange of blood between she and I is a gift to ensure she remains by your side for eternity.”

Lex vamped out as well and nodded his head. “I understand and allow you to taste her blood… albeit reluctantly,” he added with a grin. He squeezed Chloe’s hand and after placing a lingering kiss to her lips stood off to the side.

Lionel smiled at Chloe, his fangs glistening in the candlelight. He held out his hand and Chloe took it.

“Chloe are you making this decision of your own free will? Are you being placed under any pressure to take this step?” he asked.

“I am making it of my own free will… there is no pressure from anyone, I want to do this,” she replied.

“Do anyone in this room think my daughter-in-law in not worthy of this gift?” Lionel knew no one would speak up but as part of the ceremony it had to be asked.

He allowed a few moments before speaking again.

“This is the last chance Chloe to back out,” he said softly, squeezing her hand.

“I’m ready for this Lionel,” replied Chloe confidently. She felt calm, the slight nerves had gone completely and she was fully accepting of what was about to happen.

He released her hand and manoeuvred her till she was standing in front of the chaise, then wrapped an arm around her waist. Chloe smiled at him and tilted her head to the side.

Lionel felt her heartbeat pick up a little and watched as the vein in her neck pulsed. “I am so very proud of you my dear,” he whispered. “And I could not be happier or more honoured that you are allowing me to do this.” He kissed her forehead then moved his mouth to her neck. Chloe rested her hand on his shoulder and Lionel sank his fangs into her neck, just below Lex’s mark.

Chloe cried out and clutched his shoulder tighter as Lionel began drinking her blood.

Clark looked around and his eyes widened as everyone began vamping out, Alyssa squeezed his hand.

The only sound in the room was that of Lionel draining the blood from Chloe’s body.

Lex’s eyes widened as he watched the life leaving his mate. His demon purred in delight as she got weaker and weaker. Everyone could hear her heart slowing down.

Chloe grew limper in his arms and her hand fell from his shoulders. He drank for a few moments more and just as her heart was about to beat its last Lionel removed his fangs and laid Chloe on the chaise. He loomed over her and after biting into his left wrist held it to her mouth.

“Come on sweetheart,” he murmured as his blood stained her lips. As a drop seeped between her lips and hit her tongue something primal in Chloe took over. Her lips parted and she accepted more of Lionel’s blood.

“That’s it,” he said, aware of Lex moving closer.

Soon she began suckling at Lionel’s wrist, her body craving more and more blood. The crowd moved closer and Lionel moved to take his wrist away. A growl escaped Chloe’s throat and she grabbed his wrist, holding it tight as she sank her teeth into it.

A collective sigh of relief was echoed through the room and cheers erupted as Chloe began sucking the blood harder.

“She has accepted,” cried Lillian.

For a few minutes more Chloe drank Lionel’s blood and then he removed his wrist from her mouth. Chloe fell back onto the chaise with serene smile on her face. Lex quickly sat down beside her and took her into his arms. He kissed her lips lightly, lapping up the drops of his father’s blood.

Lionel smiled at the two of them and allowed his human face to appear just as the wound on his wrist healed. “I think a celebration is in order… Lex why don’t you take Chloe to your room and watch her while she sleeps.”

“Thank you dad,” murmured Lex lifting Chloe into his arms.

Everyone cheered as Lex left the room and set about celebrating the fact that the next time they saw Chloe she would be a vampire…”

--------------------------------------------------

Twenty-Four Hours Later

A low moan came from the bed and Lex was on his feet immediately. It was exactly twenty-four hours since his father had ‘turned’ Chloe. All the others had partied for a while after the ceremony before heading out. Lex had been invited but he didn’t want to leave Chloe. So he had sat in the large armchair in their old bedroom in the castle and waited for his mate to wake up.

Chloe shifted in the bed and her eyes flickered open and closed again.

Lex smiled. “Come on sweetie wake up…”

Chloe groaned and stretched out on the bed. She opened her eyes and they adjusted to the dark almost immediately. She felt… amazing. Every nerve ending in her body felt alive. She closed her eyes again gave a contented moan. Then, her eyes snapped open, she lifted her head and turned to see Lex standing there. Her body was calling out to him.

“Show me,” he rasped, his demon face appearing.

A sly grin appeared on Chloe’s face as she stood up from the bed. She could hear the voice of her demon whispering to allow it to be shown. Meeting Lex’s golden eyes Chloe let her demon come forth for the first time.

“Magnificent,” murmured Lex crossing the room and taking her in to his arms. He took her chin in his hand and tilted her face from side to side. He leaned forward and kissed her neck before sliding his fangs into her neck.

“Mine,” he growled after taking just a few drops of her blood.

“Yours,” she breathed then pushed his head to the side before sliding her own fangs into the mark on his neck.

Lex almost came on the spot at the feeling of his mate’s fangs piercing his flesh, his cock felt so hard and ready to burst through his pants. The feeling of her fangs was exquisite. Chloe drank down his blood… Lex knew she needed it.

“Mine,” she growled a minute later when she pulled back.

“Always yours,” he replied before pulling her into a fierce kiss.

The kiss grew in intensity and the vampire pair ripped at each other’s clothes. Mouths still joined Lex back Chloe up and slammed her against the wall. She ripped her mouth from his growling at him. Their demons were in control… the need to reaffirm their mating bond was taking over. Wrapping his hand around her neck Lex pushed her harder against the wall. Chloe smirked at him and spread her legs. Lex lifted her up and pressed himself between her legs. She automatically wrapped her legs around his waist and Lex slammed his cock home.

Both vampires cried out. It was a frenetic coupling, primal and feral and the demons played a game of dominance. They could make love later, now was all about bonds and blood.

Lex slammed into her harder and harder with Chloe groaning loudly as he did.

“Mine, mine,” muttered Lex with each thrust.

Chloe clawed at his back, drawing blood. Her golden eyes glowed as the scent of blood filled the air.

Lex gripped her hips harder as the slammed into her. They were both close. Golden eyes met golden eyes and as their climaxes were reached they each sank their fangs into the other’s neck.

Riding out the orgasms they drank each other’s blood as the slid down the wall till they were a crumpled heap on the floor.

“Well that was interesting,” said Chloe five minutes later when they had calmed down, her human face appearing.

“But fun,” grinned Lex as his own human face appeared.

“I want to hit ‘Amnesiac’ tonight,” said Chloe as they hauled themselves onto the bed. “I think Clark ‘Superman’ Kent could do with a real eye opener. And afterwards I want you and I to go hunting together…”

Lex chuckled. “Evil Chloe, but I love it.”

“But before we go there’s one thing I want to do first…”

--------------------------------------------------

The others had all headed onto Metropolis and the ‘Amnesiac’ club. Lex and Chloe would follow on; Chloe had something she wanted to do first.

They exited their car and walked the small distance to the door.

“Have I told you how fucking incredible you look tonight,” murmured Lex, his hand caressing her ass. “Leather looks so good on you…”

“Naughty,” Chloe grinned slapping his hand away. “Play later…”

They reached the door and shared a grin as Chloe rang the doorbell.

There was the sound of footsteps as someone approached the door. It was pulled open to reveal the very surprise face of Lana Lang as she saw who it was.

“Lex… Chloe,” she spluttered out, “what are you doing here?”

“We are in Smallville for a few days and thought we’d drop by,” said Chloe sweetly. “Can we come in?”

Lana hesitated for a moment... her own life the last ten years had been nothing like she expected it to be and here were Lex and Chloe Luthor ready to show off their great lives… But maybe if she pretended to be nice she may get involved in their social circle and that would be worth having to be nice to them.

She stepped back and opened the door wider. “Of course, please come in, both of you,” she said with a sweet smile.

Chloe and Lex crossed the threshold and entered the house. Lana had turned her back and asked them to follow her. She never noticed the flash of gold in Chloe’s eyes.

‘I always wanted my first kill to be special,’ she said to Lex… ‘And it doesn’t get better than this…’

Lex chuckled and both vamped out as they followed Lana in to the living room…

“Can I get either of you anything?” asked Lana, turning to face them.

“No thank you,” said Chloe. “So how have you been Lana?”

“Ok,” replied the brunette. “I’m thinking about opening another coffee shop. What about you?”

“That sounds great,” smiled Chloe. “And I’ve been great. Lex and I have been travelling and we are buying an old castle in Ireland to do up and live in. But before that we, and Lucas and his girlfriend are going to take a holiday together.”

“Sounds great,” said Lana through gritted teeth.

“It’s kind of funny how our lives turned out, isn’t it?” said Chloe as she moved closer to Lana. Lex remained standing near the door, watching everything with a smirk on his face.

“I mean, if anyone was going to get the guy and live the fabulous life you Lana were always top of people’s lists. Well you and your aunt’s list anyway. But life can be a sneaky bitch. Look at Clark living it up as a journalist with the very glamorous Alyssa Romanov by his side. Pete working for that law firm in Gotham. Then there is Lex and I just enjoying life. Everyone left Smallville except you.”

She was being petty, Chloe knew that. But she had spent the best part of her teenage years living in Lana Lang’s shadow. Of having to watch Clark Kent fawn all over Lana while the girl just led him on. She had spent years watching Lana and her aunt plotting and gossiping to ruin the reputations of anyone they thought might take attention from them. So when the Luthors arrived and they took an interest in her not Lana Chloe felt justice had been served.

But that didn’t mean she didn’t want her revenge. And having Lana Lang as her first kill was just about the most perfect revenge she could think of. Plans had already been made to trick the residents of Smallville in thinking Lana had left with the Luthors and maybe someday down the line she would tell Clark what had happened. Although she secretly thought Clark knew exactly what was going on but for whatever reasons was deciding to say and do nothing about it.

“What do you want Chloe?” snapped Lana, losing her patience with the smug pair. “Here to just rub my face in the fact you have a great life?”

“Isn’t that what you would do Lana,” said Chloe sweetly. “And while yes rubbing in about how great my life is, and believe me it is great, would be fun I have something else in mind. I’d like to say it’s been a pleasure knowing you but it hasn’t and you’re probably going to give me indigestion,” at this Lex laughed. “But what I want is your…” Chloe vamped out and Lana gasped stumbling back away from her. “… Blood.”

The brunette never had a chance as Chloe launched herself at her. She struggling in vain as Chloe sank her fangs into the girls’ neck. Lex watched as his mate drained the girl… his demon purring in delight.

It was all rather an anti-climax for Chloe. Lana didn’t put up a fight and before long she had drained the girl. Retracting her fangs she let the body drop to the floor and her human face appeared as she licked the blood from her lips.

“Indigestion,” teased Lex, crossing the room and taking Chloe into his arms.

“No, but it hasn’t settled yet,” she grinned for a moment before a more serious expression appeared on her face.

“What’s wrong,” asked Lex taking her arm and leaving the house. They were met outside by a group of their own people.

“We have your instructions Mr Luthor, they will be carried out.”

“Thank you Simon,” said Lex leading Chloe to the car.

They got in and the drive set off for the club.

“Ok, so what’s wrong,” he asked again.

“I don’t feel anything… no guilt and no real satisfaction,” she said. “In fact it was kind of a let down.”

Lex chuckled and pulled her close. “My first real kill was, like you, someone I detested and I pretty much felt the same. You build up this view of how it’s going to be and the reality doesn’t come close. We will go hunting after the club tonight; you will feel a real thrill from that.”

Chloe nodded and pressed herself closer to him, smiling as the image of Lana’s shocked face filled her mind. Yes an anti-climax. But in the long run well worth it…”

--------------------------------------------------

They all stood at the entrance to ‘Amnesiac’, Alyssa and Clark at the front. The others were giggling behind them.

“Apologies Mr Luthor,” said the manager, addressing Lucas, “we were just arranging the private area for you and your party.”

“That’s ok,” smiled Lucas, wrapping his arm around Tuyla’s waist.

He smiled and signalled for the door to be opened. Once again the smell of leather, sweat, blood and sex invaded their senses. Clark and Alyssa descended the steps, everyone else waiting a moment.

“Oh my god,” came Clark’s shocked voice, “are those two people having SEX!”

They all burst out laughing as they descending after the shocked alien.

--------------------------------------------------

In his cave beneath the ruins of Karnak a semi-hibernating Altair chuckled to himself. Young Chloe Luthor had finally been turned and was showing the power and ruthlessness that she would need to survive. Peace would reign over the vampire world… for a century or two at least…

THE END!!!!

It is over....oficially over. AND SHE IS A VAMPIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amazing, loved every bit of it. It's so strange to know it's over but I'll be happy to read the sequel whenever you decide to start it. I'm just so happy that all the couples are fine and together. Laughing at poor Lucas' troubles with Altair. Loved the hot vampire mate sex, I think Chloe and Lex will be having even more fun in that club then they did the last time. When I started reading what you had planned for Lana, I squealed in delight, if that makes me a bad person then so be it. Job very well done!

Congratulations Fiona...it was wonderful. I really wanted Chloe to become a vampire but I actually found the moment to be bittersweet. LOve that they went to the Amnesiac & that Lana was Chloe's first kill. If /when you write a sequel, I'll be here to read it.

Congrats on finishing this fab story Fiona. I am really going to miss it! Great imagination on the whole turning a vampire ceremony I was transfixed while reading it. I loved Lana being her first kill made me chuckle. LOL.Clark's comment about the club was fun too.
I wish you luck in your other fandoms and look forward to you returning one day to write a sequel. :D:)

First off, congrats on a wonderful fic, I don't think anyone else could have written this better then you did. Second, I really am sooooo sad to see this end, but at the same time I cannot wait for the sequel you promised we would eventually get. Cannot wait to see vampire Chloe, kicking ass and driving Lex insane. Lastly, the turning ceremony and the smut that followed was amazing, but nothing topped Chloe finally killing Lana. That was pure poetic justice.

Loved the Clark/Alyssa moments, especially at the end when at the club and Loved Karl teasing Lucas about Tuyla. This was the perfect ending, for now.

Huh. Got to hand it to that aunt-niece tag team. They'll do anything to make them come up shiny and better than anyone else. Good thing Clark and Alyssa was there to set things right.

Totally saw this coming. It was bound to happen from the moment Gabe and Anna shared their first kiss. That's what I'll always say about that pair.

Byron’s health was failing as he entered his 90th year, but he still refused the offer of being turned… Instead thanks to Lynette’s help and Claudio’s magic books Byron would get to live for a while longer.
Byron's choice to not be turned yet may seem somewhat off the beaten path when it comes to vampire power and longevity, but it's refreshing to see a human cling to his mortality [milk it for all its worth, lol]. He'll embrace it in the end, right? :grin3:

“I am very much looking forward to it… My demon is metaphysically turning cartwheels,” said Lex with a grin, lifting their joined hands and kissing her knuckles.
I just had to :D and  at this. After all the possessiveness and evol lustfulness, I just can't imagine Lex's demon as giddy and doing cartwheels at the thought of Chloe and the embrace. No matter how metaphysical it gets.

All the while through the claiming I kept expecting him to make an appearance… it was not pleasant…
Altair making an appearance right when Lucas and Tuyla are... Sorry can't help it. But knowing Altair's penchant for being "playful", I wouldn't put it past him.

Mila was slowly showing signs of her demon awakening… direct bright sunlight caused her to break out and her senses were becoming stronger. Over the next eight years she would go through her vampire ‘puberty’ and fully embrace her vampire nature.
Heartbreaker. That's all you're gonna get from me regarding one Mila Romanov.

“This is the last chance Chloe to back out,” he said softly, squeezing her hand.
I think it's very heartwarming that Lionel is being considerate and still offers Chloe an out.

[insert hot Chlex smut]
It was too long to quote and because all of it was just so -worthy.

[insert perfect Lana-revenge]
Again, too long to quote, but very satisfying to read. I agree that it was a bit anticlimactic, but it has been done and that was what mattered. :grin3:

“Oh my god,” came Clark’s shocked voice, “are those two people having SEX!”
Hah! If that's how Clark reacts to two people, what more when he witnesses an orgy! The visual of a bug-eyed Clark with an uncharacteristically high-pitched voice will haunt me forever. And I love you for that.

Thanks so much for 3yrs of snark, intrigue, mystery, suspense, action, and of course hot Chlex smut. It has been such a thrill anticipating the next weekly update, agonizing at having to wait an extra week or two for an SQL fix, squee!happy at all the snark and banter, and just :wth: and  at all the WTF!moments. SQL just gave me another reason to love you and your writing more.

Let that Chlex muse get much-deserved rest. We'll still be here for your next obra maestra.

ETA: I just did a word count. Roughly 429,066 words. Yay, Fiona!

Awwwww, I never thought that one day I would see this story in the completed section, it always felt like there was just so much more to tell. I absolutely loved the epilogue, amazing that Chloe is now a full fledged vampire, and her first kill Lana...HAHAHA!!!! Priceless moment!!
I love you so much for writing this story, you had me along every step of the way and I really really REALLY can't wait until you find the time to write that sequel :D.

WOW! I just finished this story and it's absolutely wonderful, it's my favorite Chlex fic ever. All the humor, romance, drama, love, family, and of course the
smut!

First Chloe and Lex are absolutely adorable and now Chloe is a vampire can't wait to see what trouble she gets into in the sequel. I love the whole Luther family and the extended family and the way they interact with each other is adorable to read. But my favorite is the pink princess Miss Lana Lang, wow can I just say when you had Lucas teasing Lana and her aunt I was laughing so hard I started to cry. Finally someone killed Lana! I was so happy that you had Gabe become a vampire too, now he and Chloe can always be together.

I could write for hours on everything I love about this fic, but I don't have the time, so I just want to say that I just love this fic and your writing and can't wait till there's a sequel... Please start sequel soon!

Congratulations on this wonderful fic. Its amazing that you stuck with it for so long. I can't say enough about how great it was.
I'll be looking forward to a sequal after you've had a much deserved retreat. I think the most amazing thing about this story is that a sequel could take place in a hundred years or even two hundred years. The possibilities are endless when your characters can theroetically live for eternity. Lex and Chloe could have a big mansion on Mars by the time they are ready to have a child.

Excellant job. I hope to hear from you soon.

Wonderful story Fiona...and I haven't even finished reading (I'm only at chap 73). It is an addiction. I was wondering if there was a pdf of this in its entirity. I do know that it's easier to read in the archives, but there is still tons of feedback.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll post later when I've finished, but I did want to ask the question. It's a little difficult to read such a racy, drool worthy story at work, where I have nothing else to do. Any help anyone could give with the pdf would be most helpful.

Again, all of your work is just brilliant. I love your stories :grin3:

Cheers!

I have no idea what has taken me so long to finish this but I'm glad I did.

So glad to see Oliver go. Very sorry that Claudio left us. I was hoping everyone would come out of the battle alive and well. Wonderful action. Like seeing it all happening in a movie.

I was sure Gabe would turn before Chloe did. Its great that both Sullivan's were able to find love. Rather surprised that Lucas has to wait but then again it serve him right after all those years of chasing women.

At last Chloe is a vampire and taking out Lana for her first kill was great. I can't believe you finish this off with taking Clark Kent to the club. He might have a heart attack when he sees what goes on in there.

Wonderful ending I Hope there is a SEQUEL of Chloe's life as a vampire.

Wonderful work and congrats on keeping this running for so long. It was worth the wait.

I have to say that this is one amazing piece of fiction. I enjoyed the characters very much. An AU piece was never a problem for me. I read this one over the course of the last two days. Over 200 chapters (52 pages on this site) is an amazing accomplishment. The fact that many of the reviewers read from the first chapter (throughout a 3 year period) is an even further amazement.

Your writing was fabulous, and your lore creations were excellent. That is a nice thing about supernatural themes ... they have leeway to create your own flair or use already considered lore. I like how you mixed old and new. I also got a kick out of how you poked fun at some of the wackier vampire "myths".

Your characters are one of the most amazing I've ever had the pleasure of reading. Each character was its own entity as well as a big part of the whole. You fleshed out each character, and you gave every one something that was unique to them. I didn't feel like anyone was a flippant or "placement" character. Very well done.

The plot ... I can't say enough about the twists and turns of this plot. You have a very complicated and intricately woven plot, but I never felt too bogged down with words, history or descriptions. I was intrigued and riveted instead. Every chapter had me wanting more and more and more.

Again, excellent job. Thank you for sharing your time and talent with everyone here at NS with your Chlex writings. I am in awe of your talent, and I look forward to reading and rereading more from you in the future. Bravo.

So....since you finished this story in April 2007 and it's now July 2008, WHEN should we be expecting to see the beginning of the sequel? Please? Please? Please? :blinkkiss :yeahbaby:

Four Days of almost non-stop reading and I'm done. WOOT! THAT WAS AN AMAZING JOURNEY!!

What first caught my attention was the title, since I do like Latin lots. Then when I came here and read the summary I was just DRAWN IN! I love vampire stories and it never struck me to ever imagine Lex or any of the SV world as vampires. Your idea and story was absolutely brilliant! You've had me on edge and very excited with many of your chapters. I loved that the story was so long and all your plots always had a magnificent twist to it. Your writing here was brilliance. I honestly loved this story a lot! It was AWESOME!! :D:D

Wow. What an interesting fic. It had a bit of everything--drama, suspense, humor, romance, sex... Though the video Becky made made me curious about this fic, the fic far and away surpassed my expectations. And I have to admit--I hated that you made me do it--but around the 400th page I stopped reading word for word and skimmed some parts. I was just so anxious to read what was going on with Lex, Chloe and Oliver.
I definitely look forward to reading any other fics you post in the future.

WOW, just WOW. I can't think in anything else to say. I downloaded this fic in my ebook and I couldn't stop reading. I love Lex' demon; he's so cute!!!! I would bow at your feet, but then I wouldn't be able to get up 'til you decided to write a sequel to this one, ans I have to tell you that I can be very stubborn when it's something I really want, lol. You would have to beat me up with a stick or through me some bones (no better, daily updates to any fic you may write, ummhhhhh I love that idea, daily updatessss). LOL

Just keep writing wonderful fics like this and I'll very happyyyyyyyyy.

Uff Finally I’m done. I can continue with my life. :grin3: I swear this story has been my everything for the last few days. I’m surprised I was able to go work. I was glued to the computer. This has been among, if not, the longest story I have read. And I have to say:

I LOVED IT!!! Every single thing about it.
You are really a great writer. This story had everything. :clapclap:

The Chlex parts were amazing. The smut was HOT!
Even without it this story is amazing.

I loved all the characters, but I think Lucas was is favorite. :grin3:

My favorite couples were besides Chlex were Lucas/Tuyla, Karl/Elena, and Clark/Alyssa. I loved how they all discovered themselves and their love.

Lionel/Lillian, Gabe/Anna, and Sergi/Natasha were amazing too. Their relationships showed that real love lasts a lifetime even when the lifetime is eternal.

I really hope you make a sequel. (I’m hoping a trilogy.) :ecstatic:

I would love to see a story that focused on what happened on those ten years. Tuyla’s claiming, Altair’s meddling and how Lucas deals with everything. (I really love him.) I bet it would be awesome. I would also like to see the development of relationship between Clark and Alyssa more in depth. They seem like a cute peacemaking couple.

Thanks so much for this story it was amazing.

What a wonderful fic
I loved everything about it: how you describe Blana and Nell; how Clark finally saw how unbearable Lana really is; the caves and what was there; Altair, how much he cared for Iset and his help for the Luthors; the Chlark friendship; Gabe becoming a vampire; Chloe`s first kill and the smut, of course
:)
Please please make a sequel

Hello ... I have gone back and reread this story. It took me over 4 days because of what time I had available, and how long this was, but it was highly worth it.

I want you to know that your stories are still read and still enjoyed. It is an amazing piece of work that you literally dedicated years to. Even though some might not have liked the characterizations, I love the beauty of AU's. I liked your characters and the chances they had with their new lives.

Thank you for your time and dedication that you did see this story through to the end. It is one that I will happily read again.

I can't get over the fact that this story doesn't get old. I have been here for years and I have read this story several times and I love reading it because it's like I'm enjoying it for the first time. I hope Ruafair comes back soon with a sequel. I remember she had said we could be expecting one. After a few years break I'm advocating for the sequel. If you read this Ruafair...a devoted fan hasn't forgotten. Great job and I hope all is well.

I had to read this again. It's such a wonderful and amazing story. Chlex + Vampires + Smut = WIN

You did a fantastic job with this and I thank you for the time and effort you put into this. It always amazes me how you stuck with this for 3 years. :worship:

Lucas is without a doubt my favorite character. I just love him. He's hilarious and I love him. Did I already mentioned how much I love him? Because it's true I do. :grin2: Every single prat fiber of his being.

That epilogue was great. I loved how Karl teased Lucas about Tuyla and his progress. And Clark's line at the end just killed me.

Please pretty please tell me there's going to be a sequel. :beg:

I NEED more Lucas/Tuyla and Clark/Alyssa. I just love their relationships and I found them so cute. Tuyla is perfect for Lucas because he can calm him down a little and Alyssa is great for Clark because she can show him how to live a little.

I want some Lucas/Tuyla and Clarky Alyssa smut. :puppydog:

I would love to see how Tuyla's claiming developed and how Lucas dealt with Altair's meddling. It would be great to see how Clark and Alyssa came to be too. I think it would be awesome to see how their relationships developed in between those ten years and where they go from here. :love2:

I want to see Karl and Elena mated. And I hope Clark is Alyssa's mate too.

I really hope someday you will give us a sequel. I know they're a lot of people hoping the same. Even if it takes another 3 years to see it done. I will wait it out because I know that the result will be fantastic.

I NEED A SEQUEL! :tantrum: A smut filled sequel! :yeahbaby:

I finally finished reading this very long fic but it was worth it. I enjoyed every chapter of it. The characters were great, I don't have any favorite though. I'm also glad that Lana wasn't the center of attention like she is on the show. The vampire aspect of it was great and more interesting to me than the twilight series (yes I've read twilight, don't know if I should be embarrassed about that or not). Anyway I am currently rereading it and hope that you write a sequel sometime in the future.

On Chapter Fifty-One - So Close:

I have to say, I'm really loving the way Lucas is deliberately messing with Lex now that he's aware of his brother's romantic interest in Chloe. Granted, I'm for Chlex all the way. But I want Lex to have to really work for it. And right now, Lucas is a brilliant and highly entertaining foil for exactly that.

And Lex lying next to Chloe to watch her while she slept *sigh* totally melts my heart........even if it is borderline stalkerish behaviour lol! But this is Lex and we'll forgive him anything ;).

An amazing work of fiction you've got here. I really like your treatment of vampires as just another species different to humans. I like that you didn't go for the obvious choice of making them brooding and tormented by their vampirism (if that's even a word). Although I am slightly curious about how they decide what or rather who to feed on. What makes them decide to be friends with one human (as in the case of Chloe and Gabe) and then go out and kill another when they need to feed? Do they have any criteria for who they feed on or is it opportunistic and a human just happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time? And do they have to kill to feed? Or are they getting blood from some sort of supplier?

I'm a little pre-occupied with this because it is a big part of being a vampire and one of the crucial differences between humans and vampires. And this aspect of the vampire world may be difficult for a moral individual, like Chloe, raised within the values and principles of human society to be reconciled to. I look forward to seeing if/how you address these questions in the rest of this fic.

On chapter 53 - The *Date*:

Hilarious ! :D Lex is actually courting Chloe and she doesn't realise it! But she's a smart girl. I'm sure she'll put two and two together eventually which will either result in Hurricane!Chloe tearing Lex a new one for tricking and manipulating her; or she'll be too far gone and romantically invested to mind too much. I'm leaning more towards the former though - Chloe does not like to be messed with in any way, to any end.

I would actually love to see another conversation between Chloe and Lex about vampires. Her thoughts on the subject will have important significance for Lex now that she's his chosen mate. For one thing, it will have an impact on how he decides to "come out" to her as a vampire. Some interesting food for thought here, treading between human and vampire worlds...

On chapter 57 - Backfire:

“Damn he must be *really* frustrated. Go Chlo!”

Too funny! Lucas continues to delight and entertain. And I agree, Go Chloe!

I know I'm probably alone in this camp, but I LOVED this chapter and the surprising turn of events regarding Lex and Chloe. Lex needs to realise that he's not going to be able to trick or manipulate Chloe into anything; not if he wants to have a meaningful relationship with her. And while he definitely gets brownie points for romantic effort, it's going to take a lot more than sweeping romantic gestures with private air balloon rides if Lex intends to earn her love, trust and acceptance. He's got to work for it. ;)

I know I'm probably alone in this, but I actually want Chloe to freak out a little when she finally finds out that Lex and his family are vampires. I want her to go through some kind of period of adjustment, however brief lol! Even someone as open-minded and non-judgemental as Chloe, who has seen her fair share of the weird and the extraordinary would still be a little shaken by that kind of bombshell. Everything she knows and believes about the world is going to change. Not to mention, the way vampires live comes into conflict with several aspects of human society's fundamental values-system and basic laws/principles. She's going to have to reconcile the two and then get to the point where she's ready to switch sides. I'm very curious to see how you've decided to handle/address that.

Back to the story then.........;)

Okay, WOW. This is all a bit of a bloody mess ( no pun intended) isn't it?

First off, fantastic love scene in chapter 90. But Lex *sigh*......the words COLOSSAL IDIOT spring to mind. How could he not tell her the truth about his "heritage", for lack of a better word, before she gave herself to him so completely, in such an incredibly intimate way?! And how could he not tell her about the significance of them bonding in that way?! Like Lucas said, Chloe had no say in the claiming and all its implications for the rest of eternity and that just doesn't sit right.

Give him hell Chloe! He deserves it hehe. ;)

I have to say though, Lex's monumental blunder is going to make for some very entertaining reading lol! :D

oooooooooo...I found an update...yay. All I have to say is good for Chloe. I hope she makes Lex crawl and beg. Trust is everything in an equal relationship and at this pooint in time they don't have one. So keep the tension and even a little bit of the angsty goodness up until Lex has suitably groveled.

What she said. Make him grovel Chloe.

Okay... haven't finished yet, actually just started. But I cannot wait to read through your story. I haven't seen a paranormal Smallville AU yet and I am very curious. I'll update this review as I go. :)

I. AM. BACK!!! Oh my god! Exam period is the pit of pits. Blurgh!

I love love love love this story. Mainly because I don't think I have ever found something loke this anywhere else and the rest is simply because I enjoyed it sooo much.

I can't say the setting where Chloe and Lex didn't initially get along as original because that kind of interaction between the main couple have been done before but it does not at all lessened the enjoyment that is Chlex interaction in said setting. They were hilarious when they're trying to bite each other's head off.

I'm glad that you made this story something that is yours and didn't try to bring in too many Smallville regular that would have made it seem like you were trying to hard to incorporate Smallville into a story that is suppose to be yours. Clark, Pete, Lana and such was just the right addition to make the story completely entertaining without leaving Chlex. I am also glad how Clark is not such a stodger in this story and like how willing he is to try and understand something that is soo far out of his world as vampires.

When Chloe and Lex are finally able to hold a civil conversation with each other was when things starts to get really interesting for me what with the secret that Lex suppose to have told Chloe about him and his world and when Chloe reacted the way she did I actually understand her and was kind of annoyed at Lex for not telling her before she had sex with him. The way it worked out in the end was good though and I'm glad it didn't take ages and ages and ages for those 2 to make up like how it is in some other story.

Your original characters was another set of delightful addition. Of course some of them is not really original but their attitude and behaviour differs from the show so I am counting them (Lionel and Lucas) as original and their presence are appreciated. Lucas finally finding someone at the end of the story was a nice gesture, so was you making it so that none of the good guys die. I hate stories where the author killed off some of the protagonists for the sake of making it more 'believable' since it is sooo not realistic for ALL the good guys to survive the epic final battle. Claudio was an understandable loss, I cannot imagine anyone who won't be tired of living or even go mad after living as long as he did. A short epilogue covering how Lucas is doing with his lady love would be something interesting to read.

I also like how you managed to give most of the good guys someone for themselves even Byron and Lynette. The fact that Byron does not want to be turn into a vampire not withstanding. Sergi and Natasha and the kids was fascinating. Elena and Karl is another pairing that I wouldn't mind reading a bit more on how they turn out.

Lana is not really bad enough to be an antagonist but you made her charcater so entertaining and funny. I've never met someone that conceited and I'm glad I have never as I would think that I would probably slap her with enough provocation. Nell too. =snicker= :damncomp:

Your set of villain is... not very appetizing to read what with how stupid and mind-bogglingly single-minded they all are with destruction and evil but I admit they are a necessary addition for the story which otherwise would just be a simple and boriing fluffy romance a la Twilight. Dominic had delusion of grandeur the size of Mount Fuji, Oliver is cocky like a heavy-weight fighter doped up on tainted steroid and Etienne was a pathetic worm who had no creativity on how to get back at someone who decided that he is someone who is easily replaceable and forgotten. Glad to read how they end themselves. Helen was just the type of worthless female who deserved everything bad done to her by the opposite sex. For all of them, I'm glad they're gone

OVERALL, love it love it love it love it love it!!!!! :love2: :love2: Thank you for writing this excellent story and keep up the great work!! :D

Ok, So I'm only on page 169 of this forum (and am a little scared that there are 525 pages in total) and somewhere in the 60's chapterwise, but the obvious question is...why don't they just kill Dominic? The don't seem to have a problem killing other humans or vampires, so...

I read about the first 120 chapters then took abreak then came back to finish.

It's a great fantasy story. I love the idea of Lex with an intact and healthy family.

The secondary characters were well done, you did a great job planning out backstories and connections for them, which I know can be challenging.

I caught some of the feedback drama around chapter 170...I did find Chloe's reactions to Lana petty in the long run, it could have run it's course much more quickly for me. I started skipping over the Oliver parts along the way wanting to get to the main characters.

I usually notice when someone is not America - due to the language choices and this is not exception, but it doesn't bother me. I'm Californian and have been told that because TV and movies out of america use my/our language rythem and choices that I don't have an accent, which is ridiculous, because everyone has an accent if they venture outside their home area, but I don't expect anyone else writing to write in "my" language.

I am really enjoying this story so far it seems that lillian is as bad as the rrest of the luthors. :d

I think chloe should rub it in a little more the fact that she is with lex lana deserves it.

I know i am late to the game so to speak but i am really enjoying this story and i really can't wait for lana to get what she deserves! And i hope it is soon.

Okay... in the process of re-reading this story. Got distracted for a while but would like to get this down before I forget to do it. I've replied to this thread before but I would like to thank you agian for writing this story. This is one of my most favourite fantasy-style Chlex there is and I very much enjoy reading it.

Yeah... that's it for now. Thank you again :D

Forgot how addicting this story was. I never got to finish it the first time around but I do remember wanting to read this in one day which is impossible...although I've tried. =D

Anyway, the second time around I was reading the first 100 chapters in two weeks straight...probably less if I didn't have work & a little one to take care of. You are such a good writer.

Hey, First I wanted to apologize. I posted a couple of months ago a nasty reply about me hating that you hate Lana in this story and therefore not reading it.
Sorry, I had a very bad day, bad month you could say;/ I do like Lana, but I do respect other writers. Something drew me back to this story, something told me to read it and I started and I LOVE IT.
I'm better now, the light is more or less back in my life and I really enjoy this.
I love the Lillian-Chloe relations and how you described Lex's character. At first I thought you based this on some vampire well-known story, but it doesn't suit Twilight, Vampire Diaries, True Blood... it's just a terrific mixture of all.

OMG! I'm like on chap 50 something but I AM JUST AMAZED!
It's AWESOME!
Even though the foreplay of Chlex is getting so long it doesn't bother in this story, because it's so well-written!
I think that will turn out as one of my favorite SV fanfiction alone with some of Zannie's.
Thank for you that!

Have you ever thought of writing an actual book?

TrinityR
18th October 2012, 18:21
how it come I love this so much?! I mean... EVERY BIT OF THIS STORY IS GENIUS!
I love Lionel and Lillian, I'm not annoyed with Lucas as I was in the show (maybe because I don't like Paul WEsley?)
And that quote:
"Screwing around and keeping a woman for no more than two months at a time is not a sex life, it's a tension release"
Hehe, Lionel had a point, I really do like him. First time ever!

Oh this story just gets better every time I read it...usually around Halloween. I remember when you were writing this, and how much I demanded updates and lived for them. This truly remains one of my all time favorite, most well written fics that I love reading over and over. Wonderful memories and wonderful time reading it again...and again...and again!

I'm so glad you brought Oliver back!! First I was skeptical, but then... he's much better villain than Dominoc. He's smart, devilish and has some stamina.
And the way he was brought back by Dominic and now is plotting to kill him... such poetical way to write their story!

I don't get something here... I'm on the moment when Lillian was explaining the mating ceremony to Chloe and she asked if Chloe bit Lex. She did! I mean, when they were in Sergi's house during Halloween she didn't want to scream while Lex was fucking her and she bit him and there was blood. So either that was a mistake later on in that coversation and you forgot it or... you were planning something??
I don't know...

Also I find it hard to believe Chloe wouldn't ask Lex why he's bald. And I would like an explanation myself since the meteor shower is out of the way? Or is it...??

Don't get it wrong, I LOVE THIS STORY. I was just curious...

Hi Trinity,

I think this is biting and drawing blood. Not just biting. I remember reading the story a while back and came back to read it again. I don't think she drew blood when she bit Lex while I believe Lillian is referring to drawing blood with the bite. As for the baldness, valid point. I think it was out of the way and I figure she would ask him that only when she was drunk. Kind of weird topic to bring up until deeper in the relationship. I wonder why he's bald too.

Wow... so, here I am, finally finished with the story.
But first I need to ask you all: is there a sequel as Fiona promised?
1500 pages that I'd been reading since October were of course enough and it was the right place to end the story, but a sequel would be great:)

Now with my final review...
I LOVED IT
I thought that more people would be killed in the final battle, I was even afraid that Lionel would go down with Lex taking his place as the ruler, but fortunately it did not happen. Good, because this is the very first story I actually got to love Lionel, not hate him.
I kind of suspected Claudio's dead as one of less favorites characters, because no one wanted Elena or Karl to die.

I have another question (but I think, Fiona, you don't visit this forum anymore, because you don't answer:() but I'll ask anyway.
If Clark's Allyssa's mate for example... he won't become a vampire, right? And what about the possible mating ceremony? How could she ever bite him? With kryptonite I guess:D

And another... if a person become a vampire they get younger? Because... you know turning for example Byron when he's 90 would make him stay 90 I guess... or Gabe... Gabe it kind of "old" and he will be that forever?
And if Chloe waited another 20 years that would be gross while she would have 50 and Lex still look young and good...

The only thing that bothered me was how evil they all are!! Come on! Killing poeple just like that? Killing Lana for teasing in high school? I mean I love Chloe and Lana in Smallville show, but I don't like Lana here, because you presented her that way, but did she really deserve to die? I guess I'm more like Clark when it comes to moral compass:D:D

To finally conclude : Thank you for this story:) I wish I found it earlier but better late then never, hah?:D

The missing chapters from this fic and the deleted posts from other threads are the result of a cyber attack that took place back in 2012.

One of the greatest chlex story that i've ever read. Ruefair you wrote some great stories all these years and really you are an inspiration writer for me. Your persistent of writing adventurous stories until the end with still keeping the characters' natures are great thought that i really appreciate of because it's not easy to do that.
