Very clever, creative idea! I usually have to pretend these later seasons of Smallville don't exist, but I really admire fanfic writers who work with the impossible and manage to find a way to make Chlex happen...like you have here. You explained it all so well and made the possibility/Lex's plan seem completely plausible. Although Chlollie might be the best relationship the show gave Chloe, I see Oliver as a poor substitute for Lex... and no matter how EVIL! the writers made Lex, I can't help being on his side in the feud with, "the man who made his life at Excelsior a living hell" as you wrote. And then...not only did Ollie steal Lex's company, he ends up with Chloe, who should've been with Lex! (Yes I'm an obsessive Chlexer ) So your fic is satisfying on many levels...Lex takes back what's rightfully his. And I must say, your writing is *so* much better than the actual dialogue from the episode! The contrast is just...whoa. Smallville's showrunners had bad ideas, and on top of that...badly executed ...your story is just the opposite. If only fans like you had been running the show. Great chill-inducing last paragraph too.
