Chloe Luthor looked into the eyes of that bitter woman she hated so much, the

woman who had taken Chloe Sullivan’s carefree life away and given her… Lex.

Chloe’d been in love at the time, was convincing herself that she loved him now, even

though he’d just slapped her down like she was some child, and now she was hiding

in her bathroom trying to get herself together, but when she watched that woman

smirk and lie, it filled her with such a hatred, she didn’t think she could resist

    throttling her.

How had he done that? She wondered. How had Chloe Sullivan become so weak, that

she’d let a man and a facade manipulate her and take away her dreams?

When had she begun doing whatever it was he said to do?

When had she lost her hunger, her sparkle, and just become – “Mrs. Luthor”?

The woman in front of her tried to break the uncomfortable silence with an easy

    smile.

She failed miserably; in fact she looked as though she were in rigor mortis. Chloe

    almost laughed. Almost.

She abruptly moved away from the gilt edged mirror, and slicked on the red lipstick,

that had become her trademark, then did something no one would expect of the great and

powerful Mrs Luthor, she plopped down onto the cold ruby tiled floor and cried into

the deathly silence that was now her only companion. The

huge diamond on her left hand grazed her face as she tried to

    muffle her sobs of desparation.

She was still young, only twenty-seven, what was left of the

old Chloe Sullivan that is. What Lex hadn’t subtly manipulated

out of her. She could start again… couldn’t she?

Gathering the last modicum of strength she had left, she

stood up and washed the expensive makeup off her face,

sneered at the clothes Lex had so ‘kindly’ picked out

for her and took them off.

She savored the satisfying earthy tear as the expensive fabric ripped in two.

With the mask off she looked into the mirror again, saw her eyes without the Dior shadow hanging over, which according to Lex, made her look smoldering and sexy.

She saw the sparkle in the deep azure, reminding her of the past when she had a sense

of wonder, and when she was just Chloe Sullivan.

Sullivan, she let the name roll of her tongue.

There was a time back in college when that name was a big thing. It mattered.

    Well it would matter again.

Lex had destroyed so many people, and he was slowly, secretly, deliberately

destroying her with his overwhelming love.

Love (in Luthor terms) meaning: absolute control and possession.

    Yeah right.

Woo hoo! Chloe thought grinning, as she strde purposefully out of the bathroom, that

certainly wasn’t a Mrs Luthor phrase. Lex didn’t like her to be sarcastic, unless she

was aiming in for the kill of one of his enemies.

As she searched her vast walk in wardrobe, she toyed with the idea of humiliating

him and driving him insane, but she knew he’d just silence her, in the only way he

    knew how.

She shuddered as she remembered some of the things he’d done.

They’d done, the nasty voice in her head reminded her.

Chloe shook it out of her head, she could repent later, when she was finally free.

Ah Ha! She grinned while holding up a pair of jeans, before wondering briefly why

she’d thought of keeping them, as she tugged the faded pants on.

Perfect fit, ok, maybe a little loose, but whatever. Maybe she’d ask Lex for a belt.

She stated to giggle, albeit a little hysterically.

Moving across the room to her tops section she looked at them critically.

Chloe Sullivan wouldn’t wear silk, too Lana Langish.

She picked out a bright red woolen roll neck jumper, took out a pair of scissors from

her bureau and carefully cut the sleeves off.

She slipped it over her head and noticed a few strands of her long blonde hair had

fallen out of the neat chignon she usually wore.

Fuck it, she thought smiling brightly and pulled the clip out.

‘Long hair is really annoying, why the hell did I even grow it?’ She asked herself,

mainly to keep her mind from the up coming confrontation with her husband.

‘Should I pack or just walk out?’ Chloe wondered wrapping a strand round and

round her finger in a nervous gesture.

No I need to plan, get a bit of money until I can get a real job.

She thought briefly of the safe in her office, but dressed like this she’d attract too

    much attention.

Shit! Why hadn’t she thought of this before, when she’d made the decision to dance

    with the devil.

Maybe Clark could lend me some until I get settled… except he wasn’t really on

    speaking terms with the Luthors.

I am Chloe Sullivan now. I am Chloe Sullivan now.

Ok she’d beg Clark’s forgiveness. Swallow her pride… urgh, this was gonna be hard.

    “Chloe!”

Chloe’s eyes flew open in fright.

Keep calm. Keep calm. Keep calm.

She dragged a Louis Vuitton holdall out of a corner and began to steadily to fill it

    with necessities.

“Chloe what the fuck are you doing? Where are you?”

“I’m in here.” She replied tightly, stuffing a handful of lace panties into the bag.

“There are a group of very important CEO’s downstairs. Or had you forgot-”

Lex Luthor scrunched up his face in confusion, before the mask of sardonic

amusement was put firmly in place.

    “Going somewhere my love?”

“Yes ‘dearest’, I’m leaving, where, you don’t need to know.”

She zipped the bag up with relish. He glanced at it casually, before flicking back up to

    her surprisingly calm face.

“Do you really think I’m going to let you go?” He moved forward slowly, deadly

    deliberate, like a prowling cat.

    “No.”

She smiled coldly, like he’d taught her to do. “So I’m gonna take that privilege away

    from you.”

I am Chloe Sullivan. I am Chloe Sullivan.

“You’re making a fool of yourself.” He said softly with conscious softness in his tone,

“what are you wearing darling, you’re dressed like a child. Have you lost your mind?”

Chloe rolled her eyes, and was heartened at the flicker of annoyance across his

handsome features. “Grow up Lex, stop playing games. I am twenty-seven, and you

    dress me like I’m fifty.”

When he moved to speak she quickly began again. “I *am* leaving you, I want fun

and I want my own life again. If you insist on stopping me I’ll defy you and I’ll make

life unbearable for you, and if you hurt me It’ll only make me more determined. You

know what… I think I’ve finally grown up. You can only hurt me if I’m weak and I

don’t intend being your slave any longer.”

She paused for added dramatics, then smiled nicely “goodbye Lex.”

She moved past him, pleased of her confidence in the face of Clark’s nemesis.

An iron like grip prevented her exit.

“Perhaps you really have lost your mind dearest…” he whispered. She felt his anger

like a brick wall at her back.

“You will not leave me. I will not allow it.”

She dropped the bag and turned slowly round. Well she’d wanted to dance didn’t

    she...?

    “Why?”

He ran a finger along her bare lips and smiled briefly at the sight of them. “You’re my

wife. You’re beautiful, more than realize, you’re asset, and I’m not stupid, I’m not a

charity. I’m not going to just give you away without a fight.”

His cool blue eyes bored into hers, but she couldn’t even read them.

“Please Lex…” she uttered it without thinking.

“Please Lex! I’m begging you, I’m appealing to anything good you might have left in

you, you’re destroying me, you hate me, I…” she trailed off. Realizing the

fruitlessness of her despair as his features shut down.

He smiled suddenly, “you’ve been feeling unloved have you? Lonely perhaps?”

Her anger took over, “of course I’m lonely Lex, you’ve removed my friends from

my life, or had you forgotten.”

    “You have me.”

His softly seductive voice grated on her overstretched nerves.

She laughed bitterly and moved away when his hands came to rest lightly on her

waist. “In some weird twisted way you actually think you love me, don’t you?”

Lex rolled his eyes, something he rarely did. “Stop treating me like I’m my father.

What kind of monster do you think I am, Chloe? Of course I love you. Hell, I adore

you! Do you think I’d say it if I didn’t mean it?”

She couldn’t believe what she was hearing; he didn’t realize what he’d turned into,

that he was hated for a reason. Perhaps he was insane.

The thought scared her a little, and she wrapped her arms around herself in

    unconscious protection.

Of course Lex noticed the action, and felt his anger bubble up in side.

“For fucks sake Chloe!” He ripped her arms away from her middle and pulled her up

    against him.

Valiantly she tried to hide the fear from her features, but Lex noticed and that turned

    him on even more.

“Don’t be frightened, my love. I’ve been too busy to notice that you’ve been feeling

neglected. I love you too much to let your suffering continue…”

He smiled down into her pale face. “I don’t appreciate these hysterical outbreaks, but

I’m man enough to admit I’ve played my part in them.”

He smiled again, and began to kiss her neck, softly and slowly the way she liked.

She swallowed the rock of tension in her throat, “so you’ll give me a divorce.”

Lex bit down hard on her neck, and she cried out, more in shock than pain.

“I will never divorce you. If you ever bring up such a ridiculous suggestion again, I’ll

kill your father, and if you ever try to leave me, I’ll kill your father.”

He kissed her mouth as she looked up at him in fear and anger.

“Did you really think you had the upper hand?”

“I’d rather die than be your wife.” She hissed, pushing him away.

He smiled lazily at her efforts and just held her tighter. “If you try to kill yourself,

    then I’ll torture your father.”

She let out cry of defeat and slumped against him, unable to prevent the tears seeping

    out of her eyes.

A comforting hand stroked the back of her head. “Shh, don’t cry darling. There, there

my love, I hate it when you cry.”

He turned her face up to his and pressed a kiss against her forehead. “I’m doing this

for your own good… and well, I was going to keep this as a surprise for our wedding

anniversary next month, but… well, I’ve brought you your own paper.”

He grinned down at her confused face.

    “There now, are you happy?”

    In a way she was…

“Yes, but you’ll just control it, like you do everything.”

Lex nodded, “in a way yes, but only to prevent things about Lex corp. I don’t want

    getting out.”

    “I wouldn’t betray you.”

Lex smiled and hugged her again.

Inside his mind was working furiously, thinking of how long it would take up to set

up her own newspaper, without anyone noticing, and remarking briefly on how easy it

had been to make her love him again. Which she did without a doubt, though in her

    hurt she hadn’t realized.

    “I know sweetheart.”

She moved away from him and rubbed at her tired face.

He leant against her imported dressing table. “You look good enough to eat.”

She raised an eyebrow at him, “I thought you said I looked ridiculous?”

He laughed easily, “If I’m honest I think you’d look even better without them on…”

    “Your important CEO’s?”

Lex moved forward trapping her in his arms, his worries suddenly free from his

shoulders. “Not as important as you my love.”

As his lips took hers, intent on seduction and total loss of control, all thoughts of

escape, and his threats left Chloe’s mind, and she gave herself up to him.

An hour later when he was pumping into her slowly, making her beg, he leant

down, nipped her earlobe making her cry out in ecstasy. “Tell me you love me.”

She looked up at him, trying to focus, uncertainty mixed with passion in hr blue eyes.

He stopped, tantalizingly. “Please Chloe, tell me the truth.”

She couldn’t bear it any longer. “I love you. I love you Lex.”

He pinched her clit and drove into her hard.

He smiled in satisfaction to himself as, in oblivion to his tactics, she exploded around

him, moaning his name over and over in happiness.

She’d danced with the devil and left empty handed.

“And I love you too Mrs. Luthor.”

    The end.

I...wow. Made my heart beat all fast and everything. I feel wretched for Chloe, but it's not often I see the evil Lex/non-evil Chloe combo. Really well done.

Wow that was a great fic! Of course I hate evil!Lex but he does make for an intriguing piece of writing! I loved the idea that Mrs Luthor and Chloe Sullivan were two different people and the way the last line cements the fact that he's making her stay Mrs Luthor. Really well done! :worship2:
