Hasty Eternity
"I wish I was Buffy." Chloe sighed and buried herself deeper into Lex's embrace.
"What for?"
"Because she has two totally devoted vampires."
"What?!"
"Haven't you wondered what it'll be like to have someone choose to be with you even if they have an eternity to enjoy other future company?"
"Well..."
"Or better yet, be a vampire yourself and enjoy eternity together?" Chloe practically bounced on the couch.
"You crave that kind of fate, Chloe?"
"Yes. With you." Chloe breathed out.
"Perfect." Lex replied, golden eyes glinting and sharp fangs latching.
"Beautiful." Chloe got to whisper before slipping into darkness.

Okay, so I don't know if this necessarily qualifies as a "drabble" but it's too short to be a short story so...
Thanks to Hope for mentioning this on a thread somewhere. I'd been looking for somewhere to post this.
This Time

Sometimes he likes to push himself to the edge just to see if he can bring himself back before it’s too late.
Sometimes he throws himself into a situation he’s not truly prepared for just to see if he can find his way out.
Sometimes people get hurt.
Most of the time he doesn’t care.

Once in awhile she imagines herself with the man of her dreams living happily ever after.
Once in awhile she convinces herself that she’s okay with the fact it’ll never turn out that way.
Once in awhile she cries so hard she thinks she might break.
Most of the time she doesn’t let anyone else see.

This time they’re going to experience something they’ve never known before.
This time no one will get hurt, including them.
This time won’t necessarily be forever.
Most of the time it never is.

A little sad but that's ok, I really liked it. I think Chloe and Lex's relationship for the most part is always tinged with a little bit of sadness.
The structure works nicely, and it's amazing how insightful you can be in twelve lines. Well done.
