Not since Desiree Atkins had his senses been so forcefully overpowered. Not since Helen Bryce had a woman's approval meant more to him than the ingrained Luthor urge to crush, claim, and conquer. And now he had met a woman that could do both of those things to him, and more.

Any other man would have thanked the gods and put it down to 'third time lucky'.

Lex Luthor was not any other man.

Tranquilizer, check. Gas mask, check. Discreet strap-on parachute, check, he thought, patting the small revolver that was nestled delicately in his jacket pocket as the woman he loved made her way gracefully down the aisle.

He was sure she wouldn't blame him for being just a little paranoid.
