"Can you stand up?" he asked, and she nodded her head, having trouble with it since her legs had suddenly lost their strength and she wobbled. He picked her up before she collapsed. She curled up to him automatically. Lex hoped that she hadn't noticed him taking a deep breath of her as he made his way to his car.

I loved this part. Too many times Clark and Lana broke Chloe's heart and she had to noone to turn to, she had to pick the pieces by herself. I'm glad this time Lex is there for her.
Grr, of course sleeping with lana somewhere Chloe can run into them doesn't stop Clark from being suspicious of Lex and his friendship with Chloe. A part of me hopes Clark will do something stupid soon and Lex won't be able to control himself and will tell him what a jerk he's beeing towards Chloe.
So what's the big secret Lex is keeping from Chloe?

You'll have to wait, dear children, because...

okay, I'm not in storytelling mode. Sorry. But like I said, you'll have to wait. I'm making this a shorter story than what I first intended it to be... we have maybe three more chapters to go, and you'll learn all about the mystery either in the next chapter or the one after that. I don't have my outline notes with me at the moment, and I haven't even started on the fourth chapter, but I'll work on it to today and if I'm lucky, I'll have it posted this weekend.

Thanks to everyone who gave feedback -- I thought this story was horrifically bad, but all of you who have replied have really raised my spirits about it. Thank you!

Lol yes, I am coming back to it. The next chapter has been a little difficult to write due to the fact that my Phantom muse from the attic has been quiet for the past few days and hasn't given me any ideas of how to take it. Luckily, I wrote quite a bit today and will try to post it tonight. If I'm not able to tonight, I'll post it tomorrow
