On part 3/4? (i.e. the first love scene between them):

I love a good Chlex coupling as much as the next gal, but I have to admit that this chapter had me a little worried. Mainly because the whole situation was so thoroughly orchestrated and manipulated by Lex. He made sexual advances on her while she was still asleep, after slipping her a sedative and joining her in the bed without her permission. And while she didn't tell him to stop or discourage him in any way once she was awake, she was still largely incapacitated, being half asleep and drugged. It just felt too much like Chloe didn't really have any choice in the situation and wasn't acting out of her own free will, and I don't think that's something Chloe would tolerate. Which is why I'm very interested to see how you handle Chloe's reaction 'the morning after'. One thing that did reassure and comfort me was Lex's comment: "Chloe, I'm glad that I'm your first, and I plan to be your last."

I was delighted and relieved to see evidence at last that Lex has some genuine feelings for Chloe and its not just unrestrained lust driving his actions. This was a pretty warped way of pursuing the woman he cares for though. But I guess it was the infamous Luthor logic at work here that insists, no matter what, that the ends always justifies the means. After all, what a Luthor wants, a Luthor gets.

Ok, my worries have been alleviated now. I was very glad to see Lex acknowledge that he did take advantage of Chloe. And that Chloe also recognised Lex's manipulation of the situation. That said, I think he got away with it way too easily! But in the interest of the Chlex that I love, and taking into account the tone of this fic, I'll suspend my disbelief. This fic doesn't need to be taken so seriously And YAY! I'm glad to see Lex continuing to display signs of the level of his committment to Chloe and the depth of his feelings. Funny how he schemed and manipulated for sex, yet for the far more vulnerable, emotional side of things, he plays it straight and pretty much wears his heart on his sleeve. Oh Lex! You're a conundrum you!
