You know, Lex is a pretty observant guy. I'm sure he saw her trying to squirm away from Clark and looking completely uncomfortable even before he spoke - hence the interruption. I could totally see him just walking away otherwise and doing the whole brooding and getting even thing. Can't wait to see what he'll say to Clark though.
