The evil Lexana rears its ugly head again! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 3-27-06 Chapter 5 * (NC-17)
Are you kidding? Lana? I still can't figure out what Lex would find even remotely attractive about her, they're just so different...besides the fact that she's just so simple, blah. I feel so bad for Chloe. Here she is trying so hard to be friend's with Lex and trying not to impose her feelings on him and it backfired, what a mess. I hope you make it all better! Great update :)

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 3-27-06 Chapter 5 * (NC-17)
I have just caught up with this story I can't believe I missed so many updates! I like how Chloe and Lex are building their friendship and Lois is just great the way you have wrote her!
I thought it was going to be a misunderstanding with the kiss but you wrote "Lex leaned forward and kissed Lana" so I was like how can you explain that or does he really want Lana!! :wth: I can't wait to read some more, please post again soon. :D
The only other thing I can say is 'Friends make the best lovers ;)'

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 3-27-06 Chapter 5 * (NC-17)
You're a damn good writer...where have you been hiding? :) I searched to see if you had any other fanfic and couldn't find anything else. If this is your first fic, I have to say, WOW! I hope you write lots more. :)
Okay, what can I say about this one? I love your characterizations, love the growing Chlex bond, love that Chloe's already having an influence on Lex - adored the scene where she tells him she's proud of him. Worried that her new assignment might somehow mess up the Chlex. What if she's forced to investigate his shadier practices sometime and it ruins their friendship?! Now I'm just looking for trouble. ;) And I hope I didn't give you any ideas! Ignore my paranoid speculation, please.
And update SOON!!!!!!!!!
P.S. Here's hoping Lex only kissed The Pink Peril because it was the only way to shut her up 'cause he couldn't stand her whining or something. :P Or perhaps he was transferring a poisonous pill from his lips to hers? Clever Lex! Hey, I can dream.

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 3-27-06 Chapter 5 * (NC-17)
OMG...more, I need more! Chloe cannot let Lex and Blana get away with this crap! Nooooooo! Over seven months of Chloe greatness - Chloe 'I'm an adult not an emotionally stunted 12 year old' Sullivan, and he still kisses skipper barbie!?! OK, I say this all the time (about the show and fan fiction) Chloe needs someone to start showing their own interest in Chloe! Not a trick on her part, genuine interest! You know, like in the real world where men ask out young, gorgeous, intelligent, interesting women. Maybe if she stops being so 'available' to Lex, and the jealousy card starts to work its magic, the bald one will get a clue!

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 3-27-06 Chapter 5 * (NC-17)
I will not be able to go to sleep tonight if I can't find out what happens... plus I'm leaving for Vegas tomorrow and if I don't get some Chlexy goodness then I'm gonna be agonizing all weekend and that does not seem like a good way to spend my birthday :-( So I am officially begging you!

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 3-31-06 Chapter 6 * (NC-17)
Thanks again for all the wonderful feedback! Sorry for the horrible Lexana! I’m glad you all didn’t kill me lol J here’s the next chapter
Chapter 6
“Chloe Sweetie? Come on, open up the door.”
Chloe narrowed her eyes at the door as she put another giant spoon of chocolate ice cream into her mouth. It had been four days. Four days since she witnessed that horrible image of Lex kissing Lana, which caused her to fall into a depressive state of overeating.
“Chloe, I know you’re in there. I can smell you through the door.”
She ignored the loud banging on her door, turning the volume up on her television, which was tuned into the movie Ghost.
“Chloe,” Lois said in a stern voice. “Open the damn door or I’m going to break it down.”
Ignoring the threat, Chloe stuffed a cookie into her mouth.
“I’m giving you to five.”
She reached for a Drakes cupcake.
“One.”
She stuffed the cupcake into her mouth.
“I’m serious Chloe. Two.”
She reached for another cupcake.
“I’m not kidding. Three.”
Chloe rolled her eyes in annoyance, and stood up.
“Four. This is it Chloe.”
“Five.” Lois muttered when the door swung open. She stepped inside the room, and kicked the door closed with her foot. Her eyes widened in surprise as she looked over at Chloe, who was sitting on her bed, surrounded by almost every junk food known to man. Cookies and donuts. Empty bags of potato chips, cake, and ice cream.
“Chloe,” She started slowly. “What are you doing to yourself?”
“Its just so sad.” Chloe said stuffing a piece of cupcake in her mouth.
Lois nodded crossing her arms in front of her chest. “It really is.”
“I mean, Molly loved Sam so much,” She continued ,with a mouth full of cake. “They were going to get married, and then he just dies!” Tears sprang to Chloe’s eyes as she shook her head. “Love sucks!”
Lois raised an eyebrow. “Chloe, you’re starting to scare me.”
Chloe sniffed loudly. “I’ll tell you what’s scary. Being in love with someone only to have your heart ripped out and thrown away!”
“You haven’t been to class all week. Not to mention work.”
Chloe narrowed her eyes at her cousin. “I’m having a sick day. Sick week.”
Lois glared back. “Sick from what?”
“A broken heart! Sick from seeing Lana Lang’s lips touch Lex’s. Sick from seeing her enjoying that kiss. That was suppose to be my kiss. That little bitch! Oh, God. What’s wrong with me?”
Lois rolled her eyes in disgust. “That’s it! Chloe, give me that ice cream.”
Chloe glared at her as she brought another spoon to her mouth. “No,” She said her mouth full. “Its mine. Get your own.”
Lois pointed at her. “Chloe, I’m warning you. Don’t do it. Don’t-” She trailed off as Chloe put another spoon into her mouth. She stepped forward, and reached out to snatch the ice cream from Chloe’s hands. “Chloe, stop being ridiculous, and let go!”
Chloe struggled against Lois’s strong grip. “No!” she cried. “I need it.”
Lois stumbled back as she successfully commandeered the ice cream. “Look Chloe,” She started, placing the ice cream on the desk beside her. “This is crazy. This isn’t like you.”
Chloe pouted crossing her arms in front of her chest. “How do you know? Maybe this is me. I don’t always have to be strong witty Chloe. Holding in all of my hurt feelings with a sarcastic quip and a smile. I deserve to eat and pout if I want to.”
Lois eyed her with an exasperated look. “You’re acting pathetic Chloe. This is beneath you.”
Chloe narrowed her eyes. “You didn’t have to see what I saw,” She mumbled reaching for a bag of potato chips. “They were kissing Lois. Kissing! It was like I was sixteen all over again. Lana Lang has kissed someone else I’m in love with. Oh, god! I’m crying again.”
“That’s it!” Lois reached out, and grabbed Chloe by the arms; shaking her as she spoke. “You listen to me soldier-”
“Did you just call me soldier?” Chloe cut in.
“You smell, your hair is greasy, and worst of all, you let Lana see you like this.”
Chloe sniffed. “That little bitch.”
Lois shook her again. “You have to snap out of this funk. You’ve hit rock bottom. You need to get off your ass, and stop acting like a pathetic little cry baby.”
Chloe shook her head. “But, I can’t.” She said quietly. “Lana has her pink little claws in him.”
Lois groaned in frustration. “So what if they kissed. You’re Lex’s best friend remember. You understand him. Lana can’t even to begin to understand someone like him Chloe. You told me this remember?”
“Yes, but-”
“No buts,” Lois continued with conviction. “You’re a beautiful, intelligent, strong woman. You’re Chloe Sullivan dammit!”
Chloe frowned. “I am?”
“Hell yes! You’ve done the impossible of becoming Lex Luthor’s best friend Chloe. You’ve been tiptoeing around what you want for almost eight months. You have to turn up the heat. Bring out the big guns.”
For some reason, that scared Chloe. “What if I scare him off?”
Lois rolled her eyes. “Do you want me to give you the boobs speech again?”
Chloe smile softly. “No, that’s okay.” She looked around her side of the room. “God, what have I been doing to myself?”
Lois moved the pile of snacks as she sat next to Chloe. “Yeah, it is pretty pathetic.”
Chloe smiled embarrassed. “Could you do me a favor and stop using the word pathetic.”
Lois pursed her lips. “How about sad then? Or pitiful? Or even-”
“Shut up.”
“So, now that you’re no longer suffering from a nervous break down. What’s next?”
Chloe stood up. “I’m going to stop being so scared. Take a picture because the next time you see me I’ll be a whole new Chloe.”
Lois smiled reaching for a cookie. “I hope it’s a cleaner non stinky version.”
Chloe laughed reaching for her towel. “Lois? You don’t think I’m manipulating Lex do you?”
Lois looked up, breaking her sudden interest in the junk food around her. “What do you mean?”
Chloe shrugged. “Just, this plan you know? Writing the article, and becoming his friend. Not to mention what I’m planning on doing next.”
Lois smiled in understanding. “I kind of figured you’d ask me that eventually. Look Chloe, you were pretty genuine about what you said in that article right?”
Chloe nodded. “Of course I was.”
“And I know you are sincere about being Lex’s friend. You can’t manipulate someone into falling in love with you. I mean, sure you can do subtle things to get them to notice you, but actually manipulating? I don’t think so. You can’t do that to someone like Lex. Actually, I don’t think you can do that to anyone. Well, Unless, you’re Lana Lang.”
Chloe smiled at that.
“Now grab a towel, and get your smelly self into the shower. I’ll clean this mess up for you.”
Chloe frowned. “I don’t smell that bad.” She said lifting her shirt, and sniffing. She frowned. “Okay, maybe I do.” She said reaching for her towel and toiletries. She paused in the doorway. “Thanks Lois.”
Lois waved her off. “What are cousins for? Now get going. You’re burning my nose hairs.”
“You’re hilarious.”
*****
“Ms. Sullivan, it’s a pleasure to see you this evening.”
Chloe smiled at Helga. Somewhere over the course of the eight months of her friendship with Lex, she and Helga had come to some sort of understanding. Chloe didn’t really know why the woman hadn’t liked her in the beginning, but the more she came around the more Helga seemed to become more and more friendlier. Chloe was grateful for that because frankly a mean Helga scared her.
“Hello, Helga. Is Lex-”
“Mr. Luthor is in his study. You can go right in.” Helga smiled at her as they walked down the hall. “He’s been asking about you.”
Chloe smiled, pleased with this new information. “Really?”
Helga nodded. “Of course. Go right in.”
“Thank you.”
Chloe stood in the doorway, silently observing Lex, who was currently bent over a bunch of open file folders on his desk. She always liked watching him when he was working. Liked how relaxed he looked when he thought no one was around. Plus, she liked she could always sneak up on him without his notice, and she always got a little thrill out of it with the knowledge that it annoyed him.
“Good evening Lex,” she said smiling when he looked up slightly startled. She smiled inside when she noticed his eyes scan her from head to toe. She silently thanked Lois for forcing her to wear such a somewhat revealing dress. She had on a red Sweetees Tessa V neck dress with a cute smocking at the stomach; down to the waist. It hugged her curves perfectly, and Lois sacrificed by letting her wear a stylish pairs of jeans underneath.
Lex blinked, seemingly coming out of whatever thoughts he‘d been in. “How long have you been standing there?”
Chloe shrugged as she walked further into the room, stooping in front of his desk. “A minute or two.”
He gave her a slightly disgruntled look. “Its very unsettling when you stand there watching me without me knowing.”
She grinned. “All the more reason for me to do it. Am I interrupting your plans for world domination?”
He looked down at all the folders then back up at her with a small smile. “No. My plans can wait. What’s that you have there?”
She held up the two bags. “I rented some movies, and bought some food. I know how you like to forget to eat while working.”
“You know me too well,” He said standing up. He ushered her over toward the couch. “I can use the break.”
Chloe gasped in mock surprise. “Lex Luthor taking a break from work to relax? Who’s ever heard of such a thing?”
He shrugged slightly. “You’re rubbing off on me I guess.”
Chloe slowly raised an eyebrow. “I hope there’s more I’ll be rubbing off on.” She felt her eyes widen in shock, and her face heat up. Did those words actually come out of her mouth? She didn’t mean to say that out loud. She actually thought it, but it was as though her brain just forced the words from her mouth. She slowly looked at Lex to see him watching her with a look she couldn’t describe. That awful uncomfortable silence rose up between them, and Chloe found herself unable to look away from him. She had no excuse to cover up what she had said. It was quite clear what she meant, and even more clearer that she meant it.
She really was going to explode from embarrassment the longer he stared at her in silence.
“Chloe, Tell me a secret.”
She slowly let out the breath she’d been holding, and turned away from him to take her purchases out of the bag. “I think my brain is disconnected from my mouth.”
She could feel his smile.
“What movies did you get?”
She glanced at him briefly with a secret smile. “Oh, just a few I think you’ll enjoy.”
****
“Love means never having to say you’re sorry.”
“That doesn’t even make any sense. I can’t believe I’ve let you convince me to watch this tripe.”
Chloe narrowed her eyes at him. “Love Story is not tripe. Its romantic.”
He looked at her incredulously. “Romantic? She’s wooden and unpleasant and no matter what he does he’s still Ryan O’ Neal.”
Despite herself Chloe giggled; reaching for the carton of strawberries she bought. “Cynic.”
“Thank you.”
“You’re missing the whole point. They hated each other. Then they were friends. Then they were in love.”
Lex still looked unconvinced. “Your point?”
She rolled her eyes. “He was able to bust through the walls she built around herself. Was able to get her to admit that she cared. To admit that she loved him.”
He frowned. “It all seemed pretty worthless if she just died at the end.”
She shrugged. “Haven’t you ever heard of ‘its better to have loved and lost than not loved at all?’”
He shrugged noncommittally. “I’m vaguely familiar with that notion.”
She sucked her teeth. “Don’t get cheeky.”
He smiled in amusement. “Cheeky? You’ve been watching the BBC again have you?”
“Anyway,” she continued, ignoring his comment. “Nothing is worthless Lex. If you had to chance to love someone and have that someone love you back. Then its all worth it. No matter what happens at the end. Just knowing you had the chance to love makes it okay.”
Lex looked at her for a long moment, his eyes soft. “You practiced that speech before you came here?”
She slapped his arm. “Jerk.” She bit into her strawberry, and her eyes closed at how sweet they were. “I liked the fact that they were friends. Friends make the best lovers.” She opened her eyes to see Lex watching her. “Don’t you think so?”
He blinked before answering. “I wouldn’t know. All the women I’ve been with has either secretly hated me or wanted to kill me or was with me for my name and money.”
Chloe stared at him realizing that he probably has never known true love. Hasn’t had the opportunity to have a woman actually love him back. She could sympathize because she know how it felt.
Sighing, she bit into another strawberry, catching the juice that ran down her chin. She turned to her head, surprised to see Lex watching her with an unreadable look on his face. She smiled innocently at him, and held up the carton. “Want one?”
Licking his lips, Lex shook his head before turning back to the television.
Chloe could feel how tense he had suddenly gotten, and she smiled to herself. She rested her head on his shoulder.
“I’m sorry about that Lex.”
He was silent then: “About what?”
“I’m sorry all of those women didn’t realize how great of a guy you are.”
She felt him tense even more. Felt him try to create space between on the couch. Felt him fail.
“Thank you.” He said, his voice suddenly sounding strange.
“You’re welcome.”
*****
“Chloe, can I talk to you for a sec?”
Chloe looked up at Lana, who was standing next to her desk. “Sure,” She said clicking save on her laptop, and closing it. “What’s up?”
Lana sat down biting her lip. “Okay. Well, you and Lex are friends right?”
Forcing herself not to make a face; Chloe nodded slowly. “Yes we are.”
Lana nodded. “And you guys are- close?”
Not making a face. “Uh-huh. Why?”
“Well, you see Lex and I-Well we kissed..” She trailed off as if she was expecting a reaction from Chloe.
Chloe’s eyes widened. “Really?” she asked.
Lana nodded. “Really. And I…really enjoyed it.”
Chloe felt her stomach tie in knots. Felt jealous. Felt like running screaming from the room. “You did?”
Lana nodded blushing. “Yes. It was nice. Different. Sweet.”
Chloe forced her eyebrow from raising. Forced the sarcastic quip from slipping from her lips. Sweet? Different? She wondered if Lana knew she sounded like a twelve year old. “That’s nice. So, what’s the problem?”
Lana twisted her hands in her lap. “Well, ever since that night, I think he’s been avoiding me.”
Chloe felt the knots untwist. Felt a little guilty at the glee she felt from this new information. A little. “He has? Like how?”
Lana stood up, and began to pace. “Yes. When I call him he’s always busy and has to hang up. When I try and visit him at the manor he’s never there.”
Chloe put on a sympathetic face. “Oh.”
“Yeah. Just when I was beginning to have feelings for him. Just when I think we could be good together.”
Chloe frowned in confusion. Feelings for him? Good together? She was sure she remembered Clark telling her that he and Lana had just recently gone out on a few dates. She remembered how glad Clark had been that they turned out well. “What about Clark?”
Lana turned to face her looking slightly guilty. “Clark? Clark is Clark. I mean yes we sort of went out a few times, but he can’t-he won’t…cater to my needs,” Lana bit her lip. “Does that make me a horrible person to say that?”
Chloe’s mind screamed yes! She really wanted to tell Lana off. She really wanted to tell Lana about herself. How dare she say Clark can’t cater to her needs? Clark has done nothing but put her on the highest pedestal for the past seven years and she has the nerve to say that he doesn’t cater to her needs? But now all of a sudden Lex does. Chloe could see now how Lana moves onto the next guy that will pay the most attention to her. She didn’t deserve Clark or anyone for that matter.
“No,” she gritted. “No it doesn’t make you horrible.”
Lana sighed in relief. “Oh, Good. Then will you speak to Lex for me? Ask him why he’s been avoiding me?”
Chloe nodded, fighting the urge to reach out and punch someone. “Sure.”
****
Chloe stared down at the address in her hand with a small frown. “Twenty third and main.” She muttered looking back up at the abandoned building.
She had been researching and following her leads on her Platman Industries assignment for almost two months, and so far she’s had nothing but dead ends after dead ends. She was ready to throw the case out until she had gotten an anonymous tip from someone about this address.
“All roads lead to something.” She muttered placing her shades on, and hurrying across the street. She crept toward the back of the building, pausing and pressing her back against the wall as a van zoomed by. She continued on, keeping her back against the wall, pausing when she spotted a door.
“Please be unlocked.” she muttered, slowly pulling on the knob. “Bingo.”
She quietly entered the building, pulling out her camera as she looked around. There was nothing but meat. Rows and rows of hanging meat.
“All roads lead to meat.” She muttered. She sighed in annoyance. Suddenly, she froze as a large hand grasped down her shoulder.
“Don’t move.” A man said, his voice dangerously low.
She cried out as she was pulled flush against him, and a knife was brought to her neck. She struggled in her captor’s grip.
“I said don’t fucking move you cunt reporter!”
Okay, so he knew what she was, and she was obviously set up. She should’ve known better. She really wished she had taken Lois up on that karate training she offered. She really could use that now.
He ran the knife dangerously close to her throat. “Now you’re going to listen to me. If you run this story, I’m going to find you and kill you. Understand?”
Chloe said nothing. She was too busy trying to pull the pepper spray mace she had in her coat pocket.
“Understand?” He asked, and she nodded, quickly raising her hand and spraying.
“Ahh!” He cried out, and pushed Chloe onto the ground.
Chloe hissed in pain as she scraped the right side of her cheek hard against the concrete. She quickly stood up, and kneed her captor in the groin before quickly running off; the sound of his painful screams the only thing heard in the room.
******
“What happened here?” Lex asked gently running his finger across Chloe’s cheek.
“Huh? Oh, this is from my being stupid.”
Lex raised an eyebrow for her to continue.
“Well,” She sighed. “You remember I told you I had a new assignment right?”
Lex nodded. “Platman Industries.”
“Yes, Well yesterday I got a little tip, and well-”
“Let me guess,” He cut in wryly. “You went to investigate your little tip alone?”
Chloe looked embarrassed. “Yes, and please don’t tell me how stupid I was. Both Lois and Clark already did that.”
“Well, I never thought I’d say this, but they were right. What happened?”
She looked down. “I was sort of held at knife point.”
Lex eyed her incredulously. “What? Chloe-”
She winced. “I know. I know.”
He shook his head. “I don’t think you do. Chloe, its dangerous and stupid of you to go out there like that. I know you want to get your story, but there are other options.”
She nodded. “I know.”
She looked up surprised when grabbed her shoulders so she could look at him. “I want you to promise me you’ll never do that again.”
Chloe, noticing the seriousness in his request nodded without argument. “Okay. I promise.”
He nodded, letting her go. “Good. Now what did you want to talk to me about?”
She swallowed. “Lana.”
She watched as he took a noticeable pause. “Oh?”
“Yeah. She told me you two kissed.”
He sighed. “Did she?”
Chloe nodded. “Uh huh. She also told me you’ve been avoiding her, and that I should ask you why. So, why?”
His face was unreadable as he spoke his words carefully. Quietly. “When I kissed her, I expected to feel- something. You know? Anything. But, I didn’t feel anything at all. Nothing. All I kept thinking was of ways of getting her to leave.” He looked at her as he said his next words. “Lana represented something I always thought I needed. Something I always thought I wanted, but I was wrong.” He suddenly looked away from her looking uncomfortable.
Chloe knew he was sharing something very intimate with her. Sharing his true thoughts. Chloe felt guilty for feeling extreme happiness at his revelation. Lex Luthor was not in love with Lana Lang.
She smiled suddenly realizing something else. “You were worried about my well being.”
Lex looked at her, grateful for the sudden change in subject. “I was not.”
Chloe nodded poking her finger in his chest. “Uh huh. You care about me.”
He grabbed her hand and squeezed gently. “Don’t go alerting the media.”
She shrugged. “Well, it is top notch news so I can’t make any promises.”
“Chloe?”
“Yes?”
“Shut up.”

Hearing This part was worth all the horror that is Lex kissing Lana. And it put me in such a good mood that i came up with a theory why Helga was so "cold" towards Chloe at the begining. She thought that Chloe is one of the other selfabsorbed golddiggers that are usually interested in spending time with Lex but the more she got to know Chloe the more she realized that is not the case, and now Chloe has a friend on the inside as well ;)
I also hope Lex won't just take Chloe word on the whole not going to investigate by myself front, and hires a bodyguard for her just in case. More, please.

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 3-31-06 Chapter 6 * (NC-17)
YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!! Take that Blana! Lex finally said what everyone has been thinking: you are plain and Blah and nobody finds any kind of interest in you. You fall short of expectations. HA!
And this was so sweet, how Chloe and Lex go on while Lexana gets stumped by Stompy the trusty horse of REALITY.
I love this fanfic. Please do go on. And I love the way you updated really fast. Keep 'em coming!

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 3-31-06 Chapter 6 * (NC-17)
Love this story. SO glad that Lex admitted there's no chemistry between him & Lana. SO satifying to read that! Can't wait for more.

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 3-31-06 Chapter 6 * (NC-17)
LOVED the new part! I love how Lex and Chloe are together and the fact that Lex really doesn't have feelings for Lana. I was seriously wondering how much of that my gag factor could deal with. Blagh! And Lois rocks in this fic. Anyway, great job. Please hurry back with more soon.
-
Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 3-31-06 Chapter 6 * (NC-17)
Blana is in true form in this story-everything should be all about her. I'm so glad that Lex didn't like their kiss!! Excellent update!! I'm so glad Lex was so concerned about Chloe's injuries!!

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 3-31-06 Chapter 6 * (NC-17)
Yes, excellent update!
I do love it when Lois gives Chloe a much needed reality check and kick in the ass--GO LOIS:D
A good for Lex for realzing that Lana really isn't that special, and that he has been deluding himself in thinking that she was.
And I do feel slightly bad for Lana--as much as she needs to be taken down a few pegs, and knocked out of her little self-absorbed world, it never feels good to know that the person you like doesn't like you back.
I want Chloe and Lex to be happy together, and I want Lana's nose to be rubbed in thheir happiness, and then I want Lana to actually take this as a lesson and grow the hell up.
Excellent fic by the way:D

awww.
Loved Lois and her soldier speech.

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 3-31-06 Chapter 6 * (NC-17)
Yes! Lex has no feelings for Lana! I will ignore the implication that he might have at one time. And he's worried about Chloe and he was obviously missing her while she was in her junkfood coma. Have mentioned that I love Lois? I have? Oh well, I'll say it again. She is amazing. I love her and Chloe interactions and how she snapped Chloe out of her depression. Yay! Chloe for going to get your man! And damn Lana for trying to get every man to worship the ground she walks on. I knew Lex couldn't think of her like that. When are Lex and Chloe going to finally get together? I must have the answer.
-
Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 3-31-06 Chapter 6 * (NC-17)
I love this story! Its the best :D. And Lex not feeling anything for Lana. Is the best thing I read in awhile
-
Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 3-31-06 Chapter 6 * (NC-17)
Ha! So Chlex has prevailed! How could I have ever doubted it? :) That was a great update, I'm glad that Lois was able to get Chloe out of her funk. She doesn't need to be moping like that and besides her plan seems to be working. Lex is not enjoying Lana so much anymore which gives Chloe plenty of opportunity to make Lex really see her. Perfect, loved it.

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 4-6-06 Chapter 7 * (NC-17)
Thanks for all the feedback once again. I know you’re all asking when they actually get it on, and they will..I just like to build up to it Don’t kill me though, I won’t make you wait too long… Just before anyone gets confused… its nine months into Chloe and Lex’s friendship which means its December of Chloe’s second year in college. So the first half of this chapter is set in December and its kind of an interlude, and the second half is set just after new years.
****
Chapter 7 (Part 1)
Christmas Interlude
11 days before Christmas
Christmas time always put Chloe in the best of moods. The songs, the decorations, the snow. It was Chloe’s favorite time of the year. Everyone was just so joyous and festive.
Well, almost everyone.
“Why are we doing this again?” Lex asked as they walked through the tree lot.
Chloe glanced sideways at Lex. “Because, it’s a sin that you don’t have a Christmas tree up or any decorations.”
Lex shrugged. “I thought I’d skip Christmas this year. Like I did last year. And the year before that one.”
She rolled her eyes at him. “You can’t just ignore Christmas Lex.”
He wrapped his coat tighter around his body. “Well, couldn’t we have ordered one of these off the internet? Or I could’ve gotten one of my staff to do this.”
Chloe gave him an odd look. “Picking out the tree yourself is the best part.”
Lex stepped back, looking uncomfortable as a child ran past him, nearly stepping on his expensive leather shoes. “Yes, but there is so many people here. Loud people. Not to mention all the children.”
Chloe smiled in amusement; never seeing Lex look this uncomfortable before. This self conscious. He usually was able to adapt to any situation no matter what, but she could tell that of this jolliness in one vicinity was certainly throwing such a composed moody man like himself for a loop. She glanced at him holding in her laugh at the slightly baffled look on his face. She had noticed the obvious stares he had been getting since they stepped foot onto the lot. She knew, of course, that he would be stared at. He looked sleek and sophisticated, and completely out of place among the flannel wearing residents of Smallville. She almost felt sorry for him.
Just almost.
“Oh, poor Lex.” She said, wrapping her hands around his arm, and pulling him toward a tree. “What about this one?”
Lex looked up at the tree slowly raising his eyebrow. “Its rather small.”
Chloe rolled her eyes. “You said that about the last one.”
Lex shrugged. “Well, its true about this one too.”
Chloe ignored him as she looked over the seven foot tree. It was the greenest fullest tree in the lot. “I think its perfect.”
“Its small.” He repeated.
Chloe grinned at him. “It is not. Its perfect. I already have the perfect place to put it in your study.”
Lex glanced at her sideways his face softening the longer he stared at her smiling face. “Fine,” He said softly. “We’ll get it.”
*****
Lex stared up at the buidling with horror. It was horrible. “I’m not stepping foot inside there.”
Chloe glanced up at Kmart with a frown. “Why not?”
Lex gave her an incredulous look. “Because its Kmart.” He replied, as if that explained everything.
Chloe narrowed her eyes, and pulled on his arm. “Lex, we have to get the decorations. Stop acting like a snob, and grab a cart.”
“I draw the line here Chloe.” He said, reaching for a cart. “The things I do for you.”
Lex squinted at the bright lights of the monstrosity that is Kmart. “Why the hell is it so bright in here?”
“We need to start in the Christmas aisle,” she said ignoring him. “Then go to the food aisle so we can get the popcorn.”
*****
Lex frowned deeply as he followed Chloe down the aisle. “Don’t you think you should actually look at what you’re buying before just throwing it in the cart?”
“Nope,” She said while grabbing two stockings and a box of silver ornaments. “I have a vision in my mind of how I want this to look. Pass me those rope lights please.”
“Vision huh?” Lex asked as he passed her a box of white lights. “Does this vision include tacky Christmas tinsel?”
Chloe nodded. “Of course. Now can you stop complaining so much, and go get the popcorn.”
“I’m marveling at the fact that you don’t find it strange that this place sells clothing and groceries in the same store.”
“Lex!”
“I’m going. I’m going.”
******
“I swear if he ditched me I’m gong to kill him.” Chloe muttered as she pushed her now full cart toward the grocery aisle. She paused staring in surprise as she watched the scene in front of her.
Lex was leaning down in front of a little girl with blonde pigtails, who sat on the aisle floor; tears falling down her cheeks as she clutched her elbow in obvious pain. Chloe stepped back, not wanting him to realize she was there watching. She watched as Lex pulled out a handkerchief from his pocket, and began to attentively press it to the little girl’s elbow, and talking very softly. The little girl smiled softly, nodding her head, obviously finding amusement in whatever Lex was saying to her because she began to giggle. Chloe felt the smile on her face widen as she watched Lex wipe the tears from the little girl’s eye s with the pad of his thumb. He stood up, reaching out his hand to help the little girl up. Chloe watched surprised when the little girl giggled at another joke. She didn’t know he knew that many jokes. Chloe made her presence known as he opened the box of Candy canes he was holding, and handed the little girl one.
“Hi.” She said, noticing the way Lex tensed up.
“Chloe-”
Chloe smiled at him. “Aren’t you going to introduce me to your friend Lex?”
The little girl held her hand out. “I’m Crystal Conty.”
Chloe shook her small hand. “Well, hello, Crystal Conty. I’m Chloe Sullivan.”
Crystal grinned revealing her missing two front teeth. “I fell down and Mister Lex here helped me feel better.”
Chloe glanced at Lex sensing how uncomfortable he was. “He did?”
Crystal nodded as she licked her candy cane. “Uh huh,” she said pointing at Chloe, but directing her question at Lex. “She’s pretty. Is she your wife?”
Chloe felt Lex tense beside her at the question. She glanced at him unsurprised at the surprise in his eyes at the question. “Well,” She said enjoying his discomfort. “Answer the question honey.”
Lex’s head snapped over in her direction, his mouth slightly ajar.
“Well,” He started softly. “Actually Crystal-”
“Crystal! Sweetie, there you are!”
Chloe looked up as a blonde haired woman hurried down the aisle toward her daughter.
“Thank goodness you’re all right.” The woman said, grabbing crystal in her arms for a hug.
Crystal made a face, gently trying to unclamp her mother’s arms from around her. “I’m okay mommy.” She muttered embarrassed.
Her mother pulled away glaring at her. “What have I told you about wandering off by yourself? Its dangerous.”
Crystal nodded. “I’m sorry Mommy. I fell down, but Mister Lex helped me.”
Her mother frowned. “Mister-” she turned toward Lex and Chloe, her eyes widening in surprise as she glanced at Lex. “Mr. Luthor.” she said stiffly.
Lex held his hand up shaking his head. “Please call me Lex.”
The woman nodded jerkily as she stood up straight. “Okay. Thank you Mr- Lex. I appreciate you looking after my daughter. Come along Crystal.”
“Wait! Mommy!” Crystal cried yanking out of her mother’s grasp, and wrapping her arms around Lex’s waist. She squeezed as much as her little arms would let her. “Thank you Mister Lex.”
Lex’s hard expression softened as he gently patted Crystal’s head. “You’re welcome. Just remember next time climbing shelves is dangerous.”
Crystal nodded as she stepped back. “I promise.” She said before glancing at Chloe. “It was nice to meet you Miss Chloe.”
Chloe smiled. “You too Crystal.”
“Crystal!”
“Coming mommy.”
They both watched as Crystal Conty merrily skipped down the aisle toward her mother. “Hey, Mommy, can I have a puppy for Christmas?”
“Don’t ever run off like that again Crystal. Its very dangerous. Next time…..”
Chloe could feel the large grin on her face as Lex looked over at her, the unreadable mask back in its place. “That was very sweet of you.”
Lex just shrugged. “She fell, I had no choice.”
Chloe was still smiling. “Mmhmm. Still sweet. I bet you’re going to buy her that puppy aren’t you?”
An expression very close to shock flashed on Lex’s face before he concealed it again. “Here,” he said handing her his credit card. “Pay for this stuff, I’m going to wait in the car.”
Chloe watched him go, that same smile on her face. Time and time again he proved others wrong without him even acknowledging it.
*****
“Well, how does it look?”
Lex stared at his now decorated office in silence. He had never seen so many red’s green’s and silvers in one spot before. Lights were around the tree, hung from the ceilings, and around his fireplace. “It looks like Santa Claus regurgitated in here.”
Chloe elbowed him. “You like it.”
Lex shrugged. “Its all right.”
She could tell he was lying by the smile he was trying to hide. “You love it.”
He didn’t deny it, and they silently looked on at their finished work.
“I still think the popcorn on the tree is tacky.”
“You’re a snob.”
“Thank you.”
She smiled at him. “I knew you loved it.”
********
Christmas Day
“Ho. Ho. Ho.”
Lex looked up from his glass of scotch, seemingly coming out of a very deep reverie. “Chloe?” He said a surprised smile on his face. “This is a surprise.”
Chloe stopped to stand in front of him. “You didn’t think I’d let you spend the whole Christmas alone did you? Plus, I brought you food.” She dug into the bag she held, and began to pull out a bunch of small containers.
Lex took a sip of his drink as he shrugged. “I’m not very hungry.”
Chloe looked up at him, noticing for the first time the overwrought look on his face. “Lex?” She asked with concern. “Are you all right?”
He sighed. “I’m fine.”
Chloe nodded. “Yes. That thousand yard stare really let me know that. You want to talk about it?”
“No. I don’t.”
“Lex-”
“Please, Chloe. Leave it alone.”
She narrowed her eyes at him. “I’m worried about you. Something is obviously bothering you and I want to help if I can.”
“How was dinner at the Kents?”
She started at the sudden change of subject. He obviously didn’t want to share with her with whatever was bothering him. She knew it was hard for someone like him to share his feelings. She wouldn’t push him this time.
“It was a little strange without Mr. Kent being there, but it was good. I got to see my Dad.”
Lex smiled softly at the small smile on her face. “How is he?”
She smiled wide, sitting down next to him. “He’s great! He met someone in Edge City, and he brought her to dinner. He’s also loving his new job.”
He nodded. “That’s good. What does he do again?”
“He’s the supervisor at the Hydro power plant.” Chloe gave him a look. “He also mentioned something very interesting to me tonight.”
Lex avoided his gaze as he picked an imaginary lent off of his pants. “Did he?”
“Uh-huh. He said that someone named Julian Axel sent in a recommendation for the job.”
Lex frowned as he looked at her. “How is that strange?”
She laughed shaking her head. “Julian Lex? The name of your brother. Axel? Alex? Alexander. Lex you’re horrible at anagrams.”
Lex gave her an innocent look. “Chloe, I didn’t-”
“That was very nice of you to do that for my father,” She cut in. “ After all that’s happened. He really needed that.”
Lex shook his head. “Chloe, I didn’t get your father that job.”
She shrugged. “No, you didn’t. He got it all on his own merit, but the recommendation helped. So, thank you.”
Lex looked visibly uncomfortable, and Chloe laughed. “This is the part where you say you’re welcome.”
“It really was nothing Chloe. I should’ve done that a very long time ago. I really don’t deserve your thanks. Not after everything I’ve done to you two.”
Chloe shook her head. “Lex-”
He stood up, and walked over to the bar to pour himself another drink. “I did nothing to help you. All for my own selfish reasons.”
Chloe really didn’t needed to be reminded of that time. She could remember the helpless look on her father’s face as they lost their house. Their money. Everything. She could remember hearing her father silently crying in the bathroom of their one bedroom apartment they had shared. It was one of the worst times of her life.
“Lex,” she started softly. “That was the past. I forgave you for that a long time ago remember?”
He turned to face her. “Yes. Its hard to forget.”
She smiled, and patted the seat next to her. “Good. Now, come sit next to me so I can give you your gift.”
Lex wrinkled his brow in confusion. “I thought we agreed to not get each other anything.”
She pursed her lips. “I know that new laptop Lois gave me was really from you. She told me herself.”
Lex sat next to her, an annoyed look on his face.. “She really can’t keep her mouth shut about anything can't she?”
Chloe shook her head. “No. it’s a family trait.” She pulled a carefully wrapped box from her bag, and handed it to him. “Merry Christmas.”
Lex’s face was unreadable as he slowly and carefully unwrapped the gift; running his finger against the tape so he wouldn’t rip the paper. Once done, he opened the box and stared down at the book.
Chloe nervously watched the emotions range on Lex’s face. “Lex-”
“The Magic Cave,” he whispered with awe. “You remembered.”
She smiled, and shrugged. “Hard thing to forget.”
She remembered during the summer of her hideout Lex had been trying to search for that book. It was his favorite book. He had told her one night that his mother would always read it to him before bedtime. Even after she had gotten sick, he would crawl into bed with her while his father was away on business trips. She would recite the book word for word without ever having to look actually look at the book. Then the book suddenly disappeared after she died, and Lex suspected Lionel was the reason for that.
“Alice, Tom, and Merlin the Magician,” Lex in a strange voice, his fingers caressing the cover of the book. “This was our escape. ” He looked up at her. “How did you get this?”
“Well,” Chloe murmured. “You were right when you said the publishing company didn’t even exist anymore. I googled every website. Searched every bookstore in Metropolis. Then something called me to old Mrs. Ackerman’s bookstore on main street, and sure enough, there it was being sold for a dollar forty nine.”
Lex slowly placed the book back in its box, and onto the table. He turned to face Chloe. “Thank you.” He said, his voice thick and grateful.
Chloe smiled brightly. “Welcome.” She leaned forward to kiss him on the cheek. As her lips brushed his face, he turned and opened his mouth against her own.
Lex’s kiss tasted slightly like warm scotch. Lips soft and warm. Strong gentle hands pulled her body closer so that he could deepen the kiss. Chloe melted under it, wondering how and why she waited so long to feel this. She sighed against his mouth, the end of her sigh turning into a quiet moan as his tongue finally slipped into hers. She tightened her grip on his shoulders, lifting her right leg and placing it between both of his own so that she was straddled on his right leg. The kiss changed. Turned hotter, more desperate. Lex was now leaning back against the couch, his hands slid up her back, and into her hair. Chloe had no trouble following every direction his lips moved. Every change in the position of his head, she matched every move. She sucked hard on his tongue, smiling against his lips when he suddenly groaned.
He released her mouth, and she moved her lips to his throat, not noticing the way he suddenly stiffened up. She thought he smelled really good as kissed his Adams apple.
“Chloe?”
She also could tell he was really hard by the way his cock was insistently poking her stomach. She sucked his throat.
She felt him jerk in surprise.
“Chloe-”
“Hmm?”
“We can’t do this.”
Suddenly Chloe was jolted back from her heightened state of extreme arousal. She pulled away from him, and sat up. “What?”
Lex‘s face showed guilt. “We can’t do this now.”
Chloe frowned in frustration. “Why not?”
He smiled slightly, lifting his hand and running his fingers through her hair. “Because.”
Chloe crossed her arms in front of her chest, now ignoring the fact that she was still straddled on top of him. “Because isn’t an answer Lex.”
He ran his fingers across her cheek. “This is new to me Chloe.”
Her frown slowly faded, and she nodded in understanding. “Oh.”
Lex smiled, and pulled her down so that she layed on his chest. “You aren’t angry?”
Chloe fingered the button on his shirt as she shook her head. “No. Its pretty hard to stay angry at you.”
Lex snorted. “I haven’t been trying hard enough then.” He fell silent for a long moment. “Thank you Chloe. For everything.”
He was still playing with her hair, and Chloe closed her eyes, suddenly feeling exhaustion creep in. “Merry Christmas Lex.”
“Merry Christmas Chloe.”

Oh my God! They finally kissed! It was such a sweet moment and the fact that Lex wants to wait and take things a little slower completely makes me believe that they are meant for each other because Lex obviously has to care about Chloe more then he has for anyone else. Very cute update, I loved the Christmas shopping :)

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 4-7-06 Chapter 7 (part2)* (NC-17)
Chapter 7 (Part 2)- Here is part two guys. Sorry for the delay! Also its almost two in the morning, so excuse me if there are errors.
****
“I’m coming.”
“Where are you?”
Chloe limped around her dorm room. “I can’t find my other shoe.”
Lois groaned into the phone. “You’re a mess. I’ve been waiting here for fifteen minutes.”
“I’m sorry.” Chloe said as she kneeled down to look under her bed.
“You’re depriving me of my nutrients and carbohydrates. I’m loosing a pound a minute.”
Chloe frowned as she crawled over towards Lana’s bed. “Gotcha.” She said triumphantly, as she spotted her shoe.
“What?” Lois said confused.
“Nothing. Look, stop being so dramatic. I’ll be there in less than ten minutes.”
“Hurry up. There’s only so much bread sticks I can eat. Oh, hot guy at twelve o’ clock.”
Chloe stumbled as she struggled to put her shoe on. “Lois? Lois?” she sighed, and closed her phone when she noticed Lois had hung up.
She hurried around the room; gathering her purse and keys that lay on her desk. “Okay. I have everything.” She paused in front of her mirror to brush down her clothing. She growled in annoyance as her phone rang again.
“Lois, I said I’ll be there!”
“Considering that I’m not Lois. I think I should be offended.”
Chloe’s annoyed scowl melted into a smile. “Lex, Hi. How’s Vancouver?”
“Cold. I haven’t really left my hotel room except to attend meetings.”
“Sounds fun. How’d those go?”
He sighed. “The usual monotonous situation.”
“You sound exhausted. You should rest.”
Lex sounded amused. “I am resting. I’m lying in bed right now.”
Chloe snorted as she walked down the steps of her dorm building. “Yeah you’re in bed all right. And I bet you’re surrounded by a bunch of file folders from work.”
Lex paused, and she could hear papers rustling on the other end. “I’m not.”
Chloe scanned her Id card so that the doors could open. “Liar.”
“Chloe, I really am resting.”
“Hmm, then why’d you call me?”
Lex paused before answering. “Because, I can’t wait to come home.”
Chloe paused on the front steps. “Does that mean you miss me?”
Another pause. “Yes. I think it does.”
Chloe felt her stomach flutter. “I miss you too Lex.”
“I’ll let you go,” He said, changing the subject. “Don’t want you to be even more late.”
“Okay,” Chloe said flagging down a taxi. “Hey, wait. Lex?”
“Yes Chloe?”
“Are you by any chance naked?”
Lex laughed softly. “I’ll talk to you later Chloe.”
********
“So you two haven’t had sex yet?”
Chloe shook her head at her cousin. “Is that all you care about?”
Lois gave her a surprised look. “No. How can you say a thing like- okay so maybe that is all I care about. I’m tired of hearing all of this lovey dovey crap. I want to hear some hardcore sex stories already.”
Chloe laughed despite herself. “Lois-”
“Seriously Chlo, you look like you’re about to explode from frustration.”
Chloe raised an eyebrow. “And you’re one to talk.”
Lois nodded. “Exactly. One of us has to be getting some, and since you’re the one with access to a real guy. I figured I’d live my life vicariously through yours.”
Chloe shook her head. “That’s pretty sad.”
“I know.” Lois sighed. “So, what’s going on?”
Chloe shrugged as she looked down at her plate. “I don’t know. Its like he’s scared to actually- you know, but I think he’s confused right now. Sex complicates things.”
Lois crossed her arms. “That’s crap.”
Chloe shrugged at a loss. “He just acts all weird and twitchy like I’m made of glass or something.”
Something in Lois’s expression changed. “Oh.” She said with a secret smile.
Chloe eyed her suspiciously. “Oh? What oh? What’s that look for?”
Lois smiled, shaking her head. “No. No reason-well there is a reason actually. I think I know why Lex hasn’t inserted slot A into slot B.”
Chloe frowned in confusion. “Huh?”
Lois rolled her eyes. “Chloe, how many guys have you been with?”
“One. You know that. What does that have to do with- oh my god!” Chloe’s eyes widened. “You really think he thinks I’m a virgin?”
Lois nodded. “Yes. I mean you’ve practically thrown yourself on him-”
“I have not!” Chloe cut in.
“And he hasn’t so much as groped you inappropriately.”
“He did. That one time during Christmas.”
Lois shrugged. “Moment of weakness.” She began to giggle. “He thinks you’re a virgin.”
Chloe crossed her arms in front of her chest. “Shut up. Its not funny. I can’t believe he thinks that.”
Lois shrugged. “I can. I mean, you do put on this innocent act sometimes.”
Chloe gasped. “I do not!”
“Mmhmm. I bet you don’t even masturbate.”
Chloe’s mouth opened. “That’s none of your- I feel stupid when I try it alone okay?”
“If you say so. Virgin.”
“Lois!”
“Prude?”
Chloe pouted. “I really hate you sometimes.”
**********
“Ms. Sullivan,” Helga greeted in a somber tone.
Chloe frowned as the loud sounds of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata reverberated throughout the castle. “What is that music?”
Helga sighed. “Mr. Luthor has been playing that music all day.”
Chloe gave her a concerned look. “Is he all right?”
“I’m afraid not. He arrived back from his trip today in the worst of moods. The staff has decided to stay clear of him.”
Chloe suddenly had a very sinking feeling that something was wrong. “do you know what’s bothering him?”
Helga’s expression turned sad as she nodded slowly. “Yes, I think I may know why. Why don’t you go in and see if you can cheer him up.”
Chloe’s earlier plans to talk to Lex about her non existing virginity was suddenly out the window as she made her way toward his study. Intent on getting to the bottom of whatever was bothering him. The music grew louder the closer she was toward her destination. She stood in front of the closed door for a moment before trying the knob, sighing in relief when it wasn’t locked.
She gasped in surprise as she surveyed the scene in front of her. Lex was standing in the middle of the room, a glass and a half empty decanter of brandy in each of his hands. It looked as though a twister swept through his study. Papers, broken glass, and furniture thrown everywhere.
She stared at his back with concern. “Lex!” She tried to call over the loud music, but he just ignored her, and continued to stare blankly at the wall. She walked over toward his stereo, and switched it off. “Lex.” She called more quietly.
He turned quickly, a startled look on his face. His surprised look turned into annoyance. “What are you doing here Chloe?”
She shrugged, eyeing him warily. “I came to see you.”
He smirked at her. “Is that right?” He asked, his words slurring at the end of his sentence.
“You’re drunk.”
Lex laughed, holding up his empty glass. “Give the girl a prize.” His hands shook as he poured himself another drink. “I’m not drunk enough.”
“Lex, why are you….” she trailed off as Lex moved past her towards the bar.
He slammed the empty decanter down on the table so hard, it nearly cracked. “You shouldn’t be here Chloe.” He picked another decanter up, and poured himself another drink.
Chloe stepped forward. “What’s wrong Lex?”
He still wouldn‘t look at her. “Its really non of your business.”
That stung. Chloe felt the hurt of his words hit her full on, but she pushed It away, and walked closer toward him. “It is my business. I’m worried about you Lex.” She gently placed a hand on his shoulder. “Tell me what’s got you like this.”
Lex stiffened. “Don’t-”
“Don’t what?” She cut in. “Worry about you? I’m sorry, but I can’t help that.”
Lex glared at her, and shrugged her hand off. “Don’t touch me.”
Her eyes went sad. “Tell me what’s wrong,” She said quietly. “Please don’t push me away this time Lex. Just tell me what’s bothering you.” She wouldn’t walk away. No matter what hurtful thing he did or said to her. She wouldn’t let him off this easy. He was in obvious pain, and she wanted to try and make it just a little bit better for him.
“Go home Chloe, I’m fine.”
Chloe laughed hollowly. “Fine? You destroyed your whole office. You’re going to drink until you’re sick. That is not fine. Please, tell me what’s the matter.” She could feel the tears in her eyes threatening to fall over, and she quickly wiped at her eyes. She hated this. This feeling helpless. All she wanted to do was help him, and he wouldn’t even tell her what was wrong.
“Chloe?”
She looked up to see Lex looking at her with a strained expression. She shook her head. “I know this is new to you, but you don’t have to hold everything inside all the time. Just tell me what’s wrong.”
Lex sighed, and turned away from her. He whole stance was stiff, his hands, which were now at his sides, were in tight fist. His voice was strangely horse as he spoke. “My mother died fourteen years ago today.”
Oh, god. Chloe hadn’t been expecting that. She had expected his father had done something to upset him or something had gone wrong with the talks during his business trip. Lex never mentioned when Lillian had died.
She shook her head in sorrow. To think he would try and hold something like that inside. To try and deal with so much pain alone. “Lex-”
He shook his head angrily. “I forgot Chloe. I completely forgot. On my way home on the jet. I looked down at my planner, and I saw the date, and it suddenly hit me.”
Chloe didn’t know what to say. “I’m sorry.”
Lex looked like he was thinking. “I haven’t even visited her grave at all last year.”
“Why not?”
He turned to face her. “Because I’ve become the one person she made me promise not to become.”
Chloe knew he meant his father, and that angered her. “No. You’re nothing like him Lex.”
“I’ve done things Chloe. Questionable things. Things she would never forgive me for.”
Chloe nodded, placing her hand back on his shoulder. “I know, but you’re her son, and she loves you no matter what. You’re not Lionel. Do you understand me?”
“How do you know?” He asked in a quiet voice.
Chloe smiled softly at him. “I wouldn’t be here if I thought so.”
Lex could only stare at her. His face holding a very intense look that frightened her and excited her all in one. She hadn’t expected him to kiss her. His lips slammed down on top of hers so hard she nearly stumbled backward, and she would’ve had he not been holding her waist in a tight grip. He propelled them backward, and Chloe gasped as her back suddenly hit the wall with a painful thud. She clutched at his shirt back as their tongues moving against each other, holding on as he seemed to pour all of his pain, frustration and anger into that kiss. He seemed desperate, silently searching for something she couldn’t really understand.
She gasped for breath when he released her mouth. She opened her eyes to see him watching her, and the wild look in his eyes frightened her so much she had to close her own eyes. Suddenly, his hands gripped by her wrist non too gently, and he moved them above her head. Chloe’s heart thudded so loudly in her chest, she was sure he could hear it in the silence of the study.
She didn’t resist him when his left hand held both of her arms above her head, gasping in pleasure when his right hand found its way between her legs. She gasped in surprise as two of his fingers plunged deeply into her wet hot sex, plunging it in and out of her wetness hard and fast.
She felt her body become flushed. Damp with sweat, and she tried to move her hips against his hand, tried to move her body period, but she couldn’t. He had her whole body pinned to the wall. All she could do was feel and moan helplessly as his fingers brought her to her first orgasm in three years.
“Lex-” She was cut off by his lips attacking hers again. She pulled away slightly. “Lex,” She breathed. “My arms are starting go numb.”
Her words seemed to strike something inside him, because suddenly his lips were gone, and he stepped away from her so fast she could’ve sworn he moved just as fast a Clark.
Chloe’s eyes opened, and the wild look Lex had earlier was gone. In place of it was something she never saw on his face before. Fear. “Lex?”
“I scared you.” He said quietly.
Chloe shook her head confused. “No, well a little but I-”
“I think you should go home Chloe.”
“What?” She asked quietly.
He turned away from her. “Go home.”
Chloe didn’t’ understand what the problem was. Why was he doing this? “No, Lex-”
“Please, Chloe. Just go. I’ll- I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Pain and embarrassment flared deep inside Chloe as he used that cold tone he usually reserved for business on her. “Okay,” She said quietly. “I’ll go. But I’m coming to see you tomorrow.”
His shoulders relaxed a bit. “Goodnight Chloe.”
Chloe wondered where it all went wrong as she quietly left his study. She held back her tears of confusion as she made her way to the car. Those could wait until she got back to Metropolis.

Oh Poor Lex , remembering the aniversary of his mothers dath and being confronted with who he maight be becoming on the same day had to be painful. This , above, was my favourite part because it shows what is the real problem that is eating away at Lex and how simple is the solution for it. Although I'm hoping he won't base his faith in the fact he isn't becoming Lionel only on Chloe, because it would be unfair. And on a side note I totally love Helga :)

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 4-7-06 Chapter 7 (Part2) * (NC-17)
This was a wrenching update.
First, Lex's obvious devastation at forgetting his Mom's death just about killed me, and then CHloe's pain at Lex's pulling away from her was hard to read, too.
And Lois is right in that Lex is afraid of hurting Chloe, and that is why he hasn't made a romantic move.
Wonderfully done!

Oh that was heartbreaking. She needs to turn right around and be with him whether he likes it or not. Oh please let everything be okay so these two can finally be together the way they need to be. You know, holding each other. In bed. Naked. The bed is entirely optional by the way.

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 4-7-06 Chapter 7 (Part2) * (NC-17)
What a mess, I thought our couple was going to be at least a little happily ever after but apparently not. Lex is a guy who tries to keep everything in too much and then he reaches a breaking point, he thinks that he took it out on Chloe and yea maybe he was a little rough but she wanted it. Chloe loves him and so she is definitely going to fight tooth and nail for him if he tries to pull away. It was a little sad but a great update.

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 4-9-06 Chapter 8 * (NC-17)
Thank you again for all the support guys. It really keeps me going here’s the next part!
Chapter 8
Chloe woke up the next morning feeling just as bad as when she went to bed the night before. As soon as she arrived back to her dorm room, she had taken a shower, and cried. Then she had cried herself to sleep. She felt miserable, confused, and strangely unsettled. Unsettled because she didn’t like the way she had left things with Lex. She knew she shouldn’t have left him alone last night, but she had the feeling that he needed to be left alone. She knew he didn’t want her seeing him so broken. So emotional. She felt her heart ache with the knowledge that her friendship or her love may never heal the part of his soul where he needs it the most.
She climbed out of bed, and paused in surprise when she noticed the half naked boy sleeping next to Lana for the first time. She glared at them across the room before clearing her throat loudly.
Lana woke up first, her eyes widening and a blush rising to her cheeks as she notice Chloe staring at her with a raised eyebrow. “Sorry,” she muttered shaking whatever his name is shoulders. “I’ll get him to leave.”
Chloe just rolled her eyes as she gathered her things so she could go and get dressed inside the bathroom. “Don’t bother.”
*********
“Chloe, did you find out who that guy was Lana brought to my mom’s Christmas dinner?”
Chloe looked over at Clark extremely annoyed and slightly sad look. When was he going to get a clue exactly. When was he going to realize that Lana was over him, and he the same. She didn’t understand how he could hold onto to something for so long when he was getting nothing but grief in return.
“Look Clark, you want to know what I think?”
Clark nodded silently. His face hopeful.
“I think Lana is a bitch.”
“Chloe!”
“Clark, Lana has a boyfriend. Do you understand that? She’s stringing you along, and you’re letting her like the idiot I know you aren’t. She’s selfish and self absorbed, and she’s only looking for the best guy who’ll cater to her every need.”
Clark looked away from her as the truth in her words hit him full force. “She said she still loved me, but she’s confused.”
Chloe shook her head sadly at him. “If she loved you Clark. She would’ve fought tooth and nail for you when you broke it off with her. She wouldn’t have stood for it. She would have done everything in her power to get you back, and she didn’t even try hard enough. Instead, she went to Lex, and tried to be with him because he showed her a little attention.”
Clark’s face looked pained. “I know.”
She smiled sadly at him. “I know Lana was your first love. Your first everything. But, you have to move on.”
Clark smiled. “You frighten me at how much you’re always right.”
Chloe shook her head. “It isn’t about being right. Its about common sense, and me caring for you. Clark, you’re my best friend, and you’re an amazing person. You deserve better than Lana.”
And she meant it. Clark had grown so much over the past year. No matter if he still saw things as black and white or that he’s still self righteous to a fault. She had somehow lost sight at how selfless Clark can be. How much he always wants to help.
“I think I always thought this Chloe. I just.. I just needed to hear it.”
Chloe smiled. “Well, you heard it. Now just listen this time?”
Clark hugged her. “Thanks Chlo.”
She smiled as she squeezed him. “I try. Now I have to run.”
“Where you going?”
“I’m going to listen to myself for once.”
********
Chloe called Lex’s cell phone for the third time, frowning when all she got was the voicemail.
She knew leaving him alone had been a mistake. She was going to fight for him. She wasn’t going to let him push her away. She was not letting him get off that easy.
“Hello, Helga. Is Lex-” She trailed off as Helga shook her head sadly.
“Mr. Luthor has gone and taken a business trip to England.”
Chloe’s eyes widened in surprise. “England?” She shook her head in disbelief. “Do you know when he’ll be back?”
Helga shook her head. “No, he only told me to tell you he was sorry.”
Chloe looked down at her hands. Apparently he was sorry enough to go halfway across the world to get away from her. “Oh, Okay. I guess I’ll be going then.”
“Chloe?” Helga called, and she paused before turning to face the older woman. “Why don’t you come inside, and I’ll make you some tea.”
*********
The warmth from the chamomile tea made Chloe’s insides warm, and made the sick feeling she felt slightly better.
“You feeling better sweetie?”
Chloe smiled softly. “Depends on your definition of feeling better.”
Helga laughed loudly as she wiped off the counter, and reached to pour herself a cup of tea. “You remind me so much of my daughter Diana.”
Chloe smiled, surprised. “You have a daughter?”
Helga nodded. “I do. She’s just about Lex’s age. She lives in California.”
“She must be very luck to have a mother like you.”
Helga smiled sadly. “Thank you. But, unfortunately she doesn’t think so.”
“Well, what do you mean?”
“I know my daughter loves me, but we don’t always see eye to eye on things. I sometimes think she’s ashamed that I’ve been a maid all my life.”
Chloe frowned deeply. How could someone ever be ashamed of such a loving caring woman like Helga.
Helga squeezed her hand. “Oh honey, don’t worry about that. That’s just Diana being Diana. I love her no matter what. You just worry about your own problems.”
Chloe looked down into her mug with a sad smile. “My problems. Seems my problem decided to go halfway across the world away from me.”
“You love him.” It wasn’t a question.
Chloe smiled ruefully. “That obvious huh?”
Helga shrugged, leaning over to pour Chloe more tea. “Not really. I just have a hunch about these things.” She eyed Chloe carefully. “What is it about him that makes you so crazy inside?”
Chloe smiled wistfully. “Lex is a very intense man. Complex. Intelligent and handsome, and even though he doesn’t like to admit it, he’s very sweet.”
Helga smiled shaking her head. “Yes. That will make you crazy inside. He’s also very stubborn, can be pig headed and extremely clueless when it comes to women like you.”
Chloe choked on her tea as she giggled. “I didn’t want to be rude, but I though the same thing.”
Helga laughed along with her. “He wasn’t always like that though. He was such a shy child.”
Chloe looked up intrigued. “You knew Lex when he was a child?”
Helga nodded. “I’ve known Lex since he was a little baby. I’ve been working for the Luthor family for a very long while now.”
Chloe nodded in understanding, and she leaned forward. “What was he like?”
“He’ll probably won’t like me telling you this, but what the hell. Its punishment for him going off and leaving like a coward.” She reached for a box of Yardley cookies, and put it on the plate in front of Chloe. “As I said before. Lex was always a shy child. Quiet. Kept to himself a lot. But so very sweet, and he stuck to Lillian like glue. Lionel didn’t really like that much.”
Chloe’s eyes narrowed. “He’s a bastard.”
Helga chuckled. “Yes, I agree.” She bit her lip as she continued more sadly. “Lex changed after the accident. Things changed for him. Lionel grew colder. Children grew crueler toward him. He spent months in and out of hospitals. He even stopped speaking for a whole year. It was as if he closed in on himself.”
Chloe shook her head sadly. “He does that sometimes even now.”
Helga nodded. “After Lillian died, I think it destroyed him, and it made things even worse for him. Especially after being raised by a man like Lionel.”
Chloe knew what it was like to be in the grips of someone like Lionel. It nearly destroyed her. But, being raised by him. Suffering years from his ridicules and tricks, and verbal abuse. She could understand why Lex is the way he is.
“After he turned seventeen, he moved out of his father’s home, and asked me to come with him.”
Chloe smiled. “Really?”
Helga nodded. “Yes. And I was honored, I’ve always kept my eyes on him. Always took care of him when his mother wasn’t around. I just wished I’d done more for him. Believe it or not after he moved out, he got worse. The partying. The drugs and the alcohol. I’ve had to sit with him in the hospital so many times.”
“My god.”
Helga sighed as she moved to pour herself another cup of tea. “It was just his own way of dealing with his pain. No matter how wrong it was. I figured he’d realize it was the wrong way to deal with things, but you know how he is.”
Chloe nodded. “Yes.”
“After he moved to Smallville things were okay with him. Minus all the times he was shot. Or the wives who tried to murder him. Or the friends who betrayed him.”
“Seems like smallville was more trouble than Metropolis.” Chloe sighed.
“Yes,” Helga said. “Seems like. Lex really valued his friendship with that Kent boy. For once I thought he had a friend who didn’t judge him because of his last name. Anything Clark asked for. Money, cars, favors. Lex gave it all up without a question. Now I don’t know what went on between those two, but I know you don’t give up on your friends.”
Chloe nodded. “I know.”
“Then that damn Lana Lang girl kept coming around, and I didn’t like her one bit. I had no problem with letting her know that.”
Once again, Chloe choked on her tea. “You did?”
Helga nodded. “Oh yes. There are many ways you can let a person know you don’t like them without actually saying it to their face. I just wasn’t buying what she was selling. Her innocence and naiveté just grated on my nerves. Lex didn’t need someone like her.”
Chloe threw her hand up. “That’s what I was saying….” she trailed off as she thought how Helga treated her in the beginning. It all made sense now. She thought Chloe was going to use Lex. Thought Chloe was going to throw their friendship away when it was of no use to her anymore. She could tell now that Helga was very protective of Lex.
Helga patted her hand. “Don’t worry dear. You passed the test.”
“Well, thank goodness.” She laughed.
“No, I think you’re good for him. You’re just what he needs.”
Chloe’s smile faded a bit. “I hope he thinks the same way.”
Helga watched Chloe with a secret smile. If she only knew how many times Lex has asked about her. How happier he seems so much more happier when she was around. How He looks at her when he thinks no one is watching. She won’t tell these things to Chloe because she wants Chloe to find out for herself. It will be much more sweeter when she does.
“I’m sure he will honey. I’m sure he will.”
***********
One week turned into two. Two turned into three, and Chloe was slowly starting to get pissed. Three weeks, and Lex still hadn’t come home. If it wasn’t for his short and brief phone calls and e-mails she received once in a while, she would have surely had a nervous break down already.
He was in Japan now. She never asked when he was returning, and she was sure he was grateful for that. She also never tells him how angry she is for his leaving because frankly she wanted to tell him face to face. So instead of drowning herself in her sorrows, she decided to bury herself into her job and school work. She had been working on three assignments, one of those assignments were her Platman industries drug ring scandal. The same assignment she had promised Lex she wouldn’t be working on anymore, but after receiving some interesting information, she just couldn’t leave it alone. Plus she was really angry at Lex so she decided to break her promise to him.
“Sullivan, where is that Augusta report I assigned you last week?”
“I already sent it to the presses Mr. Harrower.” Chloe sighed, not looking up from her computer.
“Good, and I want that Platman industries report soon. What the hell is taking you so long?”
Chloe looked at him annoyed. “I’m trying sir.”
“Well try harder Sullivan!”
“Look, you just gave me three other assignments! If you want the story to be perfect then get the hell off of my back and give me a break!”
The hustle and bustle of the office suddenly stopped, and all was quiet. Chloe looked away from Harrower to see everyone staring at her with shocked expressions on their faces. Chloe looked back up at Harrower a terrified look on her face. She was sure this was the end of her Daily Planet career. “Mr. Harrower- I’m-”
“Fine,” He said with an amused smile while holding up his hand. “Just get those assignments in. On time.”
The hustle and bustle started up again, and Chloe sighed in relief.
Boy was she really pissed at Lex.
********
“Nothing like a stake out on a Saturday night.” Chloe mumbled as she bit into her candy bar. On a usual Saturday night, she’d be spending it with Lex. But, he was still in Japan doing whatever the hell it is he had to do there. A whole month and a half had passed by now, and her anger level at him had went up a few notches. But, forgetting about that, she was more upset now that she was working on a Saturday night instead of doing whatever the hell it was nineteen year olds her age do. She had called Clark, but he wasn’t home. She had called Lois, but she was mysteriously not answering her cell phone.
She had been bored. Then strangely depressed because her circle of friendship only consisted of three people. So, instead of sitting around doing nothing. She put on her newly purchased black wig, and large dark sunglasses, and made her way downtown to one of the warehouses owned by Platman Industries. Learning a lesson from her near death by knifing, she had decided not to go into the building where the bad guys were. So here she was now, leaning behind an old abandoned car, binoculars around her neck, and camera in her hand. Waiting for something juicy to happen.
“Here we go.” she mumbled, throwing her candy bar down, and grabbing at her binoculars as a van pulled up in front of the warehouse. She watched through the binoculars as a guy dressed in a black suit walked out of the front entrance of the warehouse. She dropped the binoculars, and picked up her small camera as a man dressed in a delivery uniform stepped out of the van holding two large blue boxes. She squinted as she snapped pictures; focusing on the exchange between the two men. She moved her attention toward the white van, zooming in on the name painted on side of the van.
“Lucas Delivers,” she muttered, still snapping pictures. “Why does that sound familiar?”
Someone shouted, and she turned her attention back to the two men, stepping closer to get a better look as she watched the man in the suit shove the delivery man hard. “Could really use Clark’s super hearing right now.” Her eyes widened as she watched the suited man punch the delivery guy hard in the gut. She snapped more pictures. “Oh my god,” she whispered, as she watched the suited man pull out a gun. She stepped back, missing her footing on the curb and tripping, knocking over the garbage, and causing a loud stir.
“Hey!”
She looked up to see the suited man yelling at her. “Shit!” She stood up quickly, and began to run in the direction she first came.
He chased her. “Hey! Come back here!”
Chloe ran as fast as her legs would take her. She turned left on forth street, and glanced behind her screaming out as she saw the suited man behind her. Her fear and adrenaline caused her to move faster. She prayed, thankful that she was on a public street, and suit man wouldn’t be able to shoot at her. She cried out in relief as she saw the bus was making its way toward her stop. She ran faster ignoring suit man’s call.
“Hey!”
“Wait!” She called finally reaching the bus just as it was about to pull off. “Wait! Open the door please!” She cried, sighing in relief as the bus suddenly stopped, and its doors flew open. She hurried on, turning to face the doors as they closed on suited man. She panted heavily as the bus began to pull off, ignoring suited man’s scream for it to stop.
*******
Instead of going back to the Planet to develop her pictures like she had been planning to do, Chloe decided to make her way to Lois’ apartment in the hopes that she could get in some girl bonding. That is, after she had her shower to wash off the stink of garbage and gasoline from knocking down that garbage, and sitting behind the back of a bus. The wonderful life of a field reporter.
She slid her key Lois had given her into the lock and turned, groaning in frustration when she noticed the chain was on the door. “Lois!” She called through the small crack. “Why is the chain on the door? I know you’re in there.”
She stepped back as the door was closed in her face, and she heard the sounds of the chain being removed. The door opened a crack, and Lois pushed her head through. “Chloe?” she squeaked. “What do you want?”
Chloe raised an eyebrow. “I want to come inside. I’ve had the worst night, and I just want to take a shower, and vege out with you. I was thinking we could have a little girls night, watch a few Keanue movies. You know, the usual thing we do because we don’t have any boyfriends.” She tried to push her way into the apartment, but Lois stopped her, blocking the entrance with her body.
“Chloe,” Lois started. “I don’t think this is a good time right now.”
Chloe eyed her incredulously. “Not a good time? Lois, why am I still in the hallway? What are you playing at? Stop kidding around, and let me-” Chloe trailed off as she observed her cousin. Lois stood there, nervous look on her face. Hair mussed, and face flushed. Not to mention the silk robe she was wearing, which she was obviously naked underneath.
“Oh man,” Chloe giggled. “Who’s in there?”
“What?” Lois said nervously. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Chloe raised an eyebrow. “Oh please, The hair, the flushed face, the giant hickey on your neck.”
Lois’s eyes widened as her hand shot up to her neck. Chloe giggled even louder.
“So, cousin, who’s in there?”
“No one! Now go back to- Hey!” Lois screamed as Chloe shouldered her way inside the apartment.
Chloe walked wrinkling her nose at the heavy sex smell coming from towards the bedroom. “Who is it Lois? Is it that politician with the small-Oh my god!”
“Lois, I didn’t see any whipped cream in your refrigerator, but you did have some sy- Chloe!”
“Clark!” Chloe screamed, staring in shock at a very naked Clark.
Clark grabbed the pillow, and held it in front of himself. “Chloe,” He started slowly. “Its not what it looks like!”
Chloe looked over her shielded eyes. “I think its exactly what it looks like.” She looked over at Lois giggling madly. “Oh man, definitely not Greg the politician huh?”
Lois glared at her. “His name was Dan, and no its not! Get out Chloe!”
Chloe held her hands up still giggling. She glanced over at a blushing Clark who gripped a bottle of chocolate syrup so tightly in his hand that it was starting to spill out of the bottle and down his wrist. “I’ll see you guys- around. And don’t use too much chocolate.”
“Chloe!” They both yelled, and she turned to go, cackling loudly as Lois slammed the door in her face. She shook her head guessing Clark took her advice after all.
********
“I can’t believe we’re going to be Juniors next semester.”
Chloe smiled over at Lana as she packed up her last box. “I Know.”
Lana shook her head. “I can’t believe you found your own apartment.”
Chloe actually could believe it. She had been saving up as soon as she got her full time permanent position at the Planet. She hated living on campus. She hated the no privacy factor, more so she hated the sudden sex escapades Lana and her new boyfriend Robert frequented in every other night.
“Well, that’s it.” Chloe said pulling keys out of her pocket, and placing them in Lana’s open hand. “Be sure to drop those off at Residence life for me okay?”
Lana nodded, pulling a surprised Chloe into a hug. “I know we aren’t as close as we use to be, but it was great having you as a room mate.”
Chloe felt bad as she lied. “You too. See you around Lana.”
Lana waved at her a small smile on her face, and Chloe closed the door, ending that chapter of her life, ready for a new one.
******
“Can I help you with that?”
Chloe stared shocked into silence as she stared at Lex, who was leaning against a silver Ferrari a hesitant smile on his face. He looked extremely good as always impeccably dressed in a gray colored sweater with black slacks. He had on dark sunglasses, and it annoyed her that she couldn’t see his eyes.
The hesitant smile he had slowly disappeared, and he stood up straighter, looking uncomfortable with her gawking at him. He took his shades off. “Chloe?”
She blinked.
“Tell me a secret?”
She blinked again, and opened her mouth. “I think-” Her eyes narrowed. “I think you’re an asshole for going away half way across the globe for two months!”
Something close to relief flashed across Lex’s face as he nodded. “I think I agree.”
Chloe walked closer toward him, and dropped the box she was holding. “I’m going to hug you now, but I still think you’re an asshole.”
Lex smiled wrapping his arms around her in a very tight hug. “Its very good to see you Chloe.”
Chloe squeezed him tight in her arms, breathing in the familiar scent of his cologne. “I missed you too Lex.” She stepped back from him with a small smile.
Lex ran a hand down her hair. “You look good. You grew your hair out.”
Chloe tried very hard to ignore the shiver from his touch caused. “Huh? Oh.” she touched her hair that was now shoulder length. “Thanks. You look good too.” Boy did he look good.
He smiled. “I got you something.” He said, turning and reaching through the window of his car. “Here.” He handed her a gift bag.
She pulled the box from the bag, and her eyes widened. “Oh my goodness! The Canon EOS 3d! They only make these cameras in Japan Lex Thank-” she trailed off, and narrowed her eyes at him. “I’m still pissed at you.”
Lex snapped his fingers. “I tried.” He reached for the box. “I could always send it back.”
Chloe held the box out of his reach. “No! its mine.” she caressed the box with a small smile.
Lex shook his head. “Its really nice to see you Chloe.”
She smiled at him before kicking her box over toward him. “Pick that up, and come with me please.”
Frowning, Lex did as she requested, following her to her car that was parked across the street. “Chloe?”
“Get in.” She said, opening up her trunk and gently placing her gift inside.
Lex stared at her car, then at her. “I’m not driving in this heap.”
She gasped. “My car is no heap! Now get in.”
Lex stared critically at her car. “But, it’s a beetle. I can’t be seen in this thing.”
Chloe glared at him as she pulled the top down. “You are a snob and a half Lex Luthor. Now stop whining and get in.”
Lex did, grumbling under his breath with words Chloe couldn’t quite make out. He sat stiffly next to her as he looked around the inside of her car. “We’re going to have to work on getting you a more adult car.”
“Jerk.” She said, as she started up the car.
“Where are we going?”
She glanced at him with a small smile. “To the place I was going to take you the day you left for your very long business trip.”
“Which is?”
“You’ll find out when we get there.”
“You do know that I hate surprises.”
“All the more reason for me to not tell you.”
He sighed. “This is punishment isn’t it?”
“Only the me not telling you and the driving part. We could’ve taken your car by the way.”
Lex snorted. “The day I let you drive my car is the day my hair will grow back.”
Chloe giggled as she made a left down the next street.
“Chloe, are we-” Lex trailed off, and she could tell by his sudden silence that he knew where they were going.
“Here we are.” she murmured, pulling up in front of the entrance of the gravesite. She put the car in park, and glanced over at Lex who was staring out the window, his body still as a statue. “Lex?”
“Why are we here Chloe?”
Chloe reached out for his hand so that he was looking at her. “Because you need to be here Lex. Don’t you think so?”
He shrugged shaking his head. “I can’t.”
“Yes you can. I know you can. Come on.” She opened her door, and shut it closed, sighing in relief when he did the same.
She could see Lillian’s memorial the further they walked inside the grave yard. She paused when they got a few feet away. “I’ll just wait here.” She said, and he shook his head.
“I’d like for you to come.”
Chloe looked at him in surprise as she let her feet follow him toward the gravesite. She could feel the emotions pouring off of him the longer they stared down at his mother’s grave. She could feel how tense he was. He sighed and took a deep breath letting his body relax before kneeling down in front of the grave.
She felt like an intruder watching Lex do something so intimate and private. He didn’t say anything. Just gently wiped the leaves off the large hedge stone while switching the dead flowers with the new ones he had arranged to be delivered every month. He stared at the hedge stone for a very long time, a small smile on his face, and she could tell he was getting lost deep in his memories.
“She was the only person I knew that could go toe to toe with my father when it came to verbal sparring. She always won.” He glanced back at Chloe. “I think that’s why he married her.”
Chloe stepped forward with a smile. “I bet she was a beautiful woman.”
Lex nodded as he stood up. “In more ways than one. She would’ve liked you.” He ran his hand across her face. “Thank you for bringing me here Chloe.”
Chloe closed her eyes for the kiss, but they shot open when he kissed her forehead instead.
Lex was smiling down at her fondly. “Lets go back now.”
“Okay.” she mumbled confused.
******
“What are you doing this Thursday evening?”
Chloe looked up at Lex as they stood in front of his car. “Well I was planning on washing my hair, but nothing really. Why?”
He pulled out a golden invitation, and handed it to her, watching as her eyes widened.
“The Business Mogul banquet! Lex the planet has been trying to get an invitation to this for months.”
“Wear something nice.”
She raised an eyebrow at him. “And just what do I get out of this?”
He smiled. “You get a story.”
“Hmm, and what do you get?”
He laughed. “I don’t get to be bored. I’ll pick you up at eight.”
Chloe smiled as she watched him walk away. “I’m still pissed at you! And you don’t even know my new address.”
He turned to face her. “Sure I do. Eight o’ clock.” He reminded, getting into his car, and driving off fast.
******
“Hello?”
“Hey cousin.”
“If you’re calling me to ask about Clark then I’m going to kill you.”
Chloe giggled. “No. No. I’ll ask about that later. I was wondering if you could help me pick out a dress?”

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 4-9-06 Chapter 8 * (NC-17)
This was an awesome update!
Good for Chloe for telling Clark the truth about Lana, and he and Lois really are a perfect fit;)
And I actually wish Lex had a Helga in his life--someone who loves him and watches out for him.
This is an excellent story:D

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 4-9-06 Chapter 8 * (NC-17)
GAH that was so much in there to talk about. First off great up date. This was the best part for me.
Quote:
“I think Lana is a bitch.”
You had me laughing out loud when I read that.
I like the talk with Helga shows us more of Lex they forget about on the show. Lana is a hoe and it's about time someone said it. Nice try Lex with the camera.
Lois with Clark. LOL:rofl: That was great. She need some Smallville in her.
The last bit at the gravesite was really nice. I like that she took him there. He needed to do that. He needed to go and I like that she was there for him.
Great update falling in love with this fic more with each chapter. PPMS (still waiting on my smut... the party well lead to other things?)

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 4-9-06 Chapter 8 * (NC-17)
Lex is a cowardly jerk for skipping out on Chloe like that but at least he's back now and is trying to correct his wrongs. I love Helga, you can always tell a good person by how they judge Lana. Oooooh Lois and Clark and I think I got some images during that scene that I really didn't need. How come everyone is this story is getting some except Lex and Chloe? I think that needs to be remedied right now.

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 4-9-06 Chapter 8 * (NC-17)
Lana is a bitch AND Clois + whipped cream makes for a very good fic. Oh, and all the angsty Chlex is nice too.

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 4-9-06 Chapter 8 * (NC-17)
Loved the update! Lex was such an ass for leaving Chloe for 2 whole months. I hope they can make things right now. Had to laugh when Chloe walked in on Clark & Lois. Yes, Chloe...Lana IS a bitch. Glad she said that out loud. Can't wait for the next chapter.

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 4-9-06 Chapter 8 * (NC-17)
I love this!! update soon!!

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 4-9-06 Chapter 8 * (NC-17)
Aghh! That was SUCH a great update. I can't believe that Lex actually left for two months, I know he was probably feeling all out of sorts but that was kind of messed up. He redeemed himself by at least checking in but still, not cool. But he came back and I have admit that I really love their "Tell me a secret?" It's very them and I like the fact that Lex uses it to bring them back to a place of familiarity. But what's with kissing her forehead? He's not her uncle for God's sake, lol. But now he's taking her to a ball, I bet she'll knock his socks off. I loved it! Great update!

Hope ;)

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 4-9-06 Chapter 8 * (NC-17)
Well I'm glad there is still hope for Clark. I do wonder what Lanas reactio is going to be once she needs something , goes to Clark and he won't just drop everything he was doing and help her right away. I knew there was a reason I liked Helga. I'm glad Lex has someone looking out for him, and now sice she does like Chloe I'm sure she will do everything in her power to get those two together. My first thought when Lex showed her the invitation was, she will probably run into the suit guy who was chasing her, there. I can't wait for the party.

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 4-9-06 Chapter 8 * (NC-17)
Great update!!!
Lex was such a jerk to go away for so long, but love Helga in this she is so sweet!
Glad that Chloe finally told Clark what kind of person Lana is and he listened to her and moved on with Lois:grin3:
I'm happy for Chloe that she got her own apartement, so that she doesn't have to stand Lana anymore!
Also it was very sweet from her to take Lex to his mother's graveside and love what Lex said about his mother, that goes about Chloe too!!!
Hope they have some fun in the next chap!!!

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 4-9-06 Chapter 8 * (NC-17)

I wonder what sort of dress Chloe will wear maybe a red one??? I can't wait to find out update soon please. :)

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 4-17-06 Chapter 9 (part1) * (NC-17)
Thanks again for all the feedback, and sorry for the delay I’ve had a crazy week, not to mention the whole chapter deleting when I typed it up! Anway, here’s the first part of chapter 9. I hope you all enjoy!
******
Chapter 9 (Part 1)
Thursday Afternoon
“What about this one?”
Lois frowned deeply as she eyed the beige pleated bust v-neck dress. “It looks like you have five stomachs.”
Chloe looked down at herself, before laughing loudly, quieting down when the other women started looking at her, an annoyed expression on their faces. “You’re going to get us kicked out of this nice store.” She said, unzipping the side of the dress so that she could take it off.
Lois snorted as she glared right back at them. “Please,” She said. “Like these snobs never heard anyone laugh before.”
Chloe slid the dress she wore down her body, placed it back on its hanger. “I just hope I find the right dress this time. Because five boutiques in one day? I’m slowly going insane.”
Lois nodded. “Yes. Plus, I think I’m starting to feel smothered by all of this snobbery. But, its worth it because we have to find you the perfect get laid dress.”
Chloe reached for the next dress and slid it on. “I hope so because if he doesn’t take what he obviously wants I’m going to scream. What about this one?”
Lois shook her head. “Too pink. Hey, you didn’t even blush this time. Good girl.”
Chloe groaned in annoyance as she slipped the pink dress off, and put it back onto the rack. “I don’t have time to blush. I’m too frustrated right now.”
Lois handed her the next dress. “And him leaving for two months certainly didn’t help matters. Which brings up the question as to why you aren’t pissed at him?”
Chloe’s eyes narrowed as she thought about Lex’s sudden departure. “Oh I’m pissed,” she said, as she stepped into the dress. “And I will let him know that eventually, but right now my libido is in over drive, and I refuse to ignore it.”
Lois grinned at her. “Preserve the sexy first then get angry. You’ve finally learned grasshopper.”
She turned so that Lois could zip her up. “I know he wants it, and I’m not letting him get away without fucking me just because he thinks I’m a virgin!”
Everyone in the dressing room once again turned to look at Chloe.
Lois smiled at them. “She hasn‘t taken her meds today,” She said before turning back to her cousin, her grin even wider. “I’ve created a monster.”
Chloe nodded. “Yes. I think you have. I’m becoming too tired and too horny to wait any longer. What about this one?”
Lois tilted her head to the side as Chloe did a little twirl. “It makes you look like you have a fat ass.”
“What?” Chloe gasped, turning her back to the mirror so that she could look down at her butt. “Crap,” She sighed. “It does look like I have a fat ass.” She moaned in annoyance. “Oh, god. Lois, what am I going to do?”
Lois stood, unzipping the red dress. “Here. Try on the black one.”
Chloe bit her lip as she glanced back at her cousin with a questioning gaze. “Speaking of getting laid-”
“Don’t-” Lois warned. She helped Chloe into the dress.
Chloe huffed. “Don’t what? You didn’t even let me finish my question so how did you know what I was even going to say?”
Lois glared at her. “Because I know you and I know you’re going to ask me about Clark. So don’t.”
“That’s not fair,” Chloe argued with a small pout. “You ask me about Lex all the time, and the first minute I ask you about your now existing sex life, you go on the defensive.”
Lois’s glare vanished, and she sighed as she sat down onto one of the fancy cushioned benches. “Fine,” she muttered. “Ask away.”
Chloe turned to face her, a small smile on her face. “How did this little…. Tryst come to pass?”
Lois glared at her. “It wasn’t a tryst.” she replied icily.
Chloe rolled her eyes. “Whatever. How did it happen?”
Lois looked down at her hands before taking a deep breath. “He was carrying a few boxes up from the talon for me-”
“Are you still stealing toilet paper and condiments from there?” Chloe cut in.
Lois shamed not sorry. “Hey, half of those boxes aren’t even being opened. So I figured why not save some money?”
Chloe shook her head. “That is the most pathetic thing I’ve heard all day.”
“Anyway,” Lois continued. “As I was saying, he was carrying up a few boxes for me, and afterward I asked if he wanted a beer-”
“And naturally he accepted.”
“Do you wish to tell the story Chlo?”
Chloe held up her hands. “Sorry. Continue.”
“Anyway, we were sitting on my couch enjoying a beer, and I of course was busy teasing him about something or other. Then he made a joke that was surprisingly funny and I laughed. Then I started noticing how his muscles were suddenly very bulgy and how he looked really good in that t-shirt he always wore. The next I know my lips were on his and then our clothes were off!”
Chloe blinked. Then blinked again. And this time everyone in the dressing room turned to stare at Lois.
Lois crossed her arms in front of her chest as she raised her chin at them. “I haven’t had my meds today either.”
Chloe just shook her head. “I don’t know what to say.”
Lois groaned slouching in her seat. “Its horrible I know.”
Chloe stepped forward shaking her head frantically. “No. No. Its not horrible. I think its wonderful. My two best friends getting together-”
Lois eyed her incredulously. “Clark and I are not together.”
Chloe frowned in confusion. “Why not?”
“Because it was just a one time thing,” She replied venomously. “Well, a one time thing that happened three times, but that’s besides the point. It was one night, and it’ll never happen again yah hear?”
Still confused Chloe asked again. “Why?”
Lois sighed as she explained impatiently. “Clark isn’t my type,” She smiled wistfully. “Although he is really good in bed. He does this thing with his tongue where-”
“Lois, too much info.” Chloe cut in.
“He’s just so… sweet. Too sweet.” Lois continued getting back on subject. “And normal. Normal farm boy is what he is, and I just don’t see anything happening with us.”
Chloe couldn’t voice just how wrong her cousin was. Clark was a farm boy. Yes. But normal? Not so much. He was far off the normal scale. He wasn’t on any scale. She knew Clark could be overly sweet too, but sweet is what her cousin needed. She knew Lois, and she knew Lois was hard on the outside and on the inside too. But, once you get through all of that hardness, she had a soft chewy side that was as sweet as candy. Chloe knew Clark as well, and she knew as dumb as he could be at times, she knew he would be the one to break through all of that hardness Lois carried around, and she had a suspicion that Lois knew that too.
“What?” Lois asked suspiciously. She visibly squirmed in her seat. “Stop looking at me like that.”
Chloe smiled. “Like what?”
Lois pointed at her. “Like that! You’re giving me a look. What is it?”
Chloe turned away from her to face the mirror as she mumbled something.
Lois narrowed her eyes. “What?”
Chloe turned to face her with a knowing smile. “You’ve been clarkized.”
“What? You’re talking crazy.”
Chloe shook her head. “No I’m not. You’ve had the first taste of being Clarkized. Once you get a taste there is no going back. One look into that blue green gaze and you’re lost.”
“Oh Shut up,” Lois scoffed. “There is no such thing as being Clarkized.”
Chloe just shrugged. “Believe what you want. I’m just telling you that Clark doesn’t do one night stands. Once he’s in. He’s in.”
Now Lois looked nervous. “Yeah right.”
Chloe looked at her seriously. “Just remember when you two have great sex again-”
Lois glared at her. “We won’t!”
“That you’ve been warned.” Chloe finished with a small knowing smile.
Lois suitably ignored her and changed the subject. “Turn around I think this may be the dress.”
Chloe turned to look into the mirror. “You think?”
She was wearing a Vera Wang black lustrous satin jeweled back halter dress. It had a plunging halter neckline, pleated bust, and the back was open with a beaded charm hanging in the center. It fell down all the way to her ankles, and it fit her perfectly, hugging her curves in all the right places.
Lois nodded as she smiled, smoothing her hands down Chloe‘s sides, adjusting the dress.. “Oh yes. This is definitely the get laid dress.”
Chloe smiled excitedly. “Oh I hope so. Its so beautiful…” she trailed off as she looked at the five hundred and twenty dollar price tag. Her smile faded. “Maybe this isn’t the right dress. Lois, I can’t afford this.”
Lois waved her hand. “Sure you can. I’ll give you half of the money.”
Chloe’s smile returned as she took the dress off. “You really don’t have to.”
Lois just smiled. “Of course I do. I don’t work for the senator for nothing. You just remember to call me the morning after the great sex okay?”
Chloe laughed. “Okay.”
**********
“Just remember to bend over in front of him as many times a possible.”
“Lois, for the last time I am not doing that.”
She pouted. “You’re no fun.”
Chloe stumbled into her shoe. “And you’re a freak.” She smoothed her hands down her dress. “Okay. So, how do I look?”
Lois looked over her cousin, smiling and silently patting herself on the back at the wonderful job she’s done. “You look gorgeous.”
Chloe frowned, feeling self conscious as she turned to look at herself in the full length mirror Clark had given her. “You sure? I don’t look stupid do I? Maybe I should have wore my hair down? Or maybe my make up is-”
“Hey,” Lois cut in concerned. “Up is good. Your make up is fine. Your beautiful Chloe. What’s with the worrying?”
Chloe looked embarrassed as she answered. “I just want to look good- for him.”
Lois nodded in understand as she put her arm around Chloe’s shoulders. “Trust me on this one. You look perfect, and Lex Luthor is going to have a hard time keeping his eyes off you. Especially your boobs.”
Chloe laughed, and elbowed Lois in the stomach. “What time is it?”
Lois checked her watch. “Its 7:55. Which means-” She trailed off as a soft knock was heard on the door. “He’s early.”
Chloe felt nervous energy buzz around her as she reached for the door and opened it.
He stood there, a bouquet of white roses in his hand, impeccably dressed in a black tuxedo that fit his body just perfectly. Her eyes zeroed in on the sparkling platinum cufflinks that held his cuffs together. He looked exactly like he stepped out of GQ magazine.
Lois watched as the two of them stared at each other silently, almost hungrily. She cleared her throat, and stepped forward, snatching the roses from his hand with a smile “I’ll put these in some water.”
“Hi,” Chloe said finally, and Lex blinked before smiling.
“Hi yourself. You look great by the way.”
Chloe felt tingling in her stomach. “Thanks. You don’t look so bad yourself.”
“Yes. Yes. Time to go. ” Lois said nudging Chloe forward. “You two kids have fun.” She exclaimed handing Chloe her small purse. “I’ll lock the doors when I leave, oh and don’t drink too much champagne. It gives you a headache.” She ushered Chloe out into the hallway. “Have fun!”
Chloe frowned in confusion as her apartment door was slammed behind them. She felt her face heat up in embarrassment. She looked up at Lex surprised to see him smiling in obvious amusement. “Sorry,” she said softly. “She has this thing in her head where she has to sometimes take on the role of my mother.”
Lex nodded. “I understand.” He held his arm out. “Shall we?”
More tingles in her stomach as she entwined her arm with his own.
******
Chloe didn’t even bother asking nor was she surprised that Lex knew her new address. She knew he would only say he has his “sources”. Also, him having the ability to know everything both freaked her out and turn her on at the same time. However, she was surprised at how close he sat next to her in the limousine. So close in fact, that their thighs were touching. She could feel the heat from his body. Could smell the intoxicating scent of his cologne.
She crossed her legs, and glanced up at him, noticing he had that look on his face he used when he was thinking about something serious. “So,” she started. “Who do I expect to see at this banquet?”
He smiled wryly. “some of the most richest boring snobs you’ll ever meet.”
She raised an eyebrow. “Sounds fun.”
“Not really,” He said dryly. “This is the worse part of my job.”
Chloe gave him a look. “Then if you hate it so much why even come? Why not get someone else to show up for you?”
Lex looked at her as if she asked him to wear plaid. “I have to make appearances Chloe. Besides this is the best time to talk business. Everyone’s guard is down.”
Chloe smiled knowingly. “Except yours.”
Lex picked something off of his pants leg as he nodded. “Except mine.”
They both stared at each other silently. Chloe couldn’t stop herself from glancing down at his lips that she so desperately wanted to kiss. Just as soon as the opportunity showed itself, it was gone. She frowned in confusion as he suddenly turned away with a loud sigh.
“Here we go.” he murmured, and she blinked noticing for the firs time that the car had made a complete stopped. His driver opened his door, and he stepped out, turning and reaching for Chloe’s hand so he could help her out as well.
Chloe had never been to this side of Metropolis. She stared up at the mammoth building that was Metrostein ballroom and country club where only the most elite and famous were allowed.
She tried very hard to keep the awe out of her voice as she spoke. “This is very nice.”
Lex nodded as he reached for her arm again. He gave her a secret smile. “It is.” They walked past a large water fountain, and up the steps.
She paused when they reached the stop, staring down at the large round gray and purple owned by LuthorCorp logo painted in the middle of the entry hall floor. “Wait a minute,” She glanced up at Lex surprised. “You own this building?”
Lex glanced down at the logo then looked up as if he were thinking. “I guess I do.”
She pursed her lips at him. “Arrogant.”
He smiled as he gently pulled her so that they continued walking “Thank you.”
They both noticed a few people mingling in the halls as they walked through. She could readily admit she felt slightly more important walking next to a powerful man such as Lex. Each person they passed said his name in greeting, and he just smoothly acknowledged them with a slight tilt of his head.
The doors to the ballroom opened to reveal a beautifully decorated room which was covered in gold and whites. The ceiling was covered in a billowy white fabric which had lights inside of them. Streamers and balloons were everywhere. The lights muted to a soft yellow, making the room give off a dreamy look. In the far corner were four violin players and a harp player playing a soft tune. She had never seen anything this beautiful in all of her life. “Wow.”
Suddenly the music stopped, and everyone turned to stare at them.
“Mr. Lex Luthor and a Ms. Chloe Sullivan has just arrived.” A voice from some place Chloe couldn’t see announced.
She stepped closer toward Lex as everyone began to applaud. “Wow.”
The look lex gave her as they walked further inside were both embarrassed and arrogant.
Yes, she was definitely turned on.
*******
“One night, Dick and I came home late. We decided not to wake Maria, so instead, we microwaved our own soup! Of course, it was a horrible mess, but Maria didn’t mind cleaning it up.”
Chloe was going to kill Lex. How dare he? How dare he leave her alone with Karin, Kitty, and Elyzabeth. Three of the most dumbest ignorant snobs you’ll ever have the sad opportunity to meet. They just spewed out thoughtless useless unimportant thoughts that made Chloe want to rip her hair out from the roots.
“Oh, Lyza, you have the most wonderful tan.”
“Thanks Kitty, I was at Golden Tan the other day.”
It was like some verbal jackhammer pounding her into the head over and over again. If someone doesn’t say anything at least a little bit intellectual so she could jump into the conversation, she was going to scream.
“Just last month,” Karin said, “Biff and I were in New York City and there was this bum on the street. Well, we walked right by him just like the new Yorkers did. It was so much fun.”
The other women laughed, and Chloe’s eyes widened.
“Well, you know what they say about first impressions,” Kitty said glancing at Chloe with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. “You only get to make one.”
Not to even mention how tall, beautiful, and blonde they were. Chloe’s smile was thin as she replied, taking a sip of her champagne. “Yes. You’re right, which means you’ve obviously failed every time on those.”
Kitty’s smile faded, and her eyes narrowed. “So you’re Lex’s flavor of the month then?”
Chloe raised an eyebrow. “Excuse me?”
“More like Flavor of the year,” Karin said with a laugh. “This is my first time seeing him with anyone for the past year and half. He doesn’t even come out to parties anymore. He’s become an absolute bore.” All three women laughed, and Chloe felt her eyes narrow.
“Didn’t you date him Kitty?” Elyza asked, still giggling.
Kitty rolled her eyes, still glaring at Chloe. “It was only one night, which I regret now that I see the company he keeps.”
That’s it. Chloe tried being cordial. She tried biting her tongue. She tried being respectful. She could only take so much. “Well,” She started in a sweet voice. “Of course Lex would stop coming around. Of course he would keep different company now because he’s tired of being around such vapid thoughtless drone bitches such as yourselves. And just so you know. Vapid is an adjective and it means dull.” She swigged the rest of her champagne, and placed it on the passing waiter’s tray. “Stay stupid bitches!” She called over her shoulder as she turned to walk away.
Karin, Kitty, and Elyzabeth all stared at her retreating figure with surprise.
“I like her.” Karin said, taking a sip of her wine and the other two girls nodded in agreement.
“Excuse me,” Chloe said, moving around a waiter as she spotted Lex across the room. Their eyes met, and he smiled at her. It faded a bit when she stopped walking toward him, and glared at him. She waved him over, and watched as he said something to the man he was speaking to before walking in her direction.
“Are you enjoying yourself?” He asked, and her eyes narrowed even more.
She snatched his glass of champagne and took a sip. “I am so angry at you for leaving me with the three heathers!”
Lex frowned in confusion. “Karin, Kitty, and Elyzabeth?”
“Yes!” She hissed. “Dumb, Dumber, and dumbest. Why would you leave me alone with such airheads?”
He gave her an innocent look. “I figured you’d want female company.”
She could see by the look on his face he was lying. “You did that on purpose. Intellectual trophy wives Lex?”
Now he was smirking. “I left in the trophy wives part. I’m surprised you didn’t pick up on that.”
“You fucked Kitty!” She knew she sounded like a child, and she regretted the words as soon as they came out of her mouth. She hadn’t really meant to say that, and she could tell by the surprised look on his face that he hadn’t expected her to say that either. She once again cursed her mouth for not being attached to her brain. However, she did know she was annoyed. Annoyed because Kitty was tall, beautiful, and although her hair was currently blonde, Chloe could tell it had once been brunette. She was also annoyed because she didn’t even understand how Lex could even be bothered with someone like Kitty, and jealous because Kitty once had her hands on Lex before she did. She knew that logic was stupid, but she just didn’t care.
She started as Lex’s hand grasped her wrist. “Sorry.” She felt her face flame in embarrassment at her outburst.
“Chloe?”
She looked up to see him eyeing her very carefully.
“That was a very long time ago. I was eighteen years old, and very stupid.”
His eyes were soft. Sincere. She could tell he was trying to appease her fears, and she was very grateful for that. She knew he didn’t do that for anyone.
“I’m sorry,” she said feeling ashamed, but then it vanished and her eyes narrowed again. “Wait a minute. Why am I sorry?” She pointed her finger in the middle of his chest. “You left me alone with them on purpose.
He gave her an annoyed look. “There is no distracting you from your anger at me is there?”
“I’m not angry at you,” She corrected. “I’m annoyed.” She eyed him suspiciously. “What were you discussing that you didn’t want me to hear?”
He smiled, tilting his head as he regarded her. “If I didn’t want you to hear, what makes you think I would tell you now?” He shoved his hands into his pockets. “Besides, I knew you could handle yourself.”
“What about my story you promised I‘d get?” She asked changing the subject. “This is the most boring party I’ve ever been to.”
He laughed while entwining his arm with her own. “Trust me. Something always happens here.” He plucked the champagne from her fingers, ignoring her annoyed look.
She tightened her hold on his arm. “Just don’t try and desert me again okay?”
“I didn’t-” He trailed off and sighed. “I promise.”
*******
“I am sorry Mr. Luthor, but I cannot accept your proposal.”
Chloe frowned as she looked up at Lex, noticing the blank look on his face.
“Look Mr. Tanaka, I know my father has given you trouble in the past, but I’m running Luthorcorp now, and Luthormed certainly has-”
“I’m sorry.” Mr. Tanaka cut in. “But anyone raised by Lionel Luthor cannot be trusted. Now if you’ll excuse me.”
Chloe glanced up at Lex, and if she wasn’t standing so close, she wouldn’t have noticed the anger and frustration blazing in his eyes or the way his body had suddenly tensed. She knew when it came to his company, he wasn’t use to not getting what he wanted. She also knew he hated and was tired of being punished for the people his father betrayed in the past. “That was cold.”
Lex sighed. “It was business.”
Chloe shrugged. “Seems to me he took it rather personal.”
He glanced over at her briefly. “Do you know who that is Chloe?”
She nodded. “Of course. He was in the Planet’s business review. That’s Takeshi Tanaka. He’s the CEO of Tanaka drugs the pharmaceutical drug company over in Edge City. He has honorary degrees, has done all types of charity work. Cancer research, wildlife preservation. He was even on the zoo committee.”
Lex nodded, still looking in Tanaka‘s direction with an almost predatory look. “He’s also involved in bank fraud, smuggling, and money laundering.”
Chloe wasn’t surprised. “Of course he would be. What are you going to do?”
Lex’s eyes seemed to turn dark as he answered. “I’m going to blackmail him, and if that doesn’t work, I’m going to snatch his company right from under him. Therein, leaving him with nothing, which would certainly ruin his life and the lives of his family.”
Chloe stared at Lex, shocked into silence. She knew she was talking to Business Lex now. Business Lex was blood thirsty and merciless. Getting what he wanted, and taking over companies with a simple snap of the wrist. He held absolutely nothing back when it came to his company, and Chloe wasn’t ashamed to say that the sheer intelligence and ruthlessness of business Lex turned her on.
“Unfortunately enough for him I don’t even need his company. Just his bid.”
She frowned confused. “Money?”
He nodded. “Money. When you start up a company you don’t always put in all of your money. You get bids from other companies and in turn you sell their products. I have eight companies backing LuthorMed.”
“Except his.” she finished, and he nodded. It was all so simple to her, and despite herself she felt very sorry for Mr. Tanaka. Sorry that he had to be so very stubborn. Sorry that his life will be ruined in less than twelve hours.
She glanced at the stage that now had a beautiful woman crooning softly to the music of a live band. Her eyes fell back onto Mr. Tanaka as an idea popped into her head. She bit her lip, and glanced at Lex. “That sounds like a fun idea, but I think I may have a better one.”
“What’s that?” He asked watching in confusion as she walked toward Mr. Tanaka.
“Tanaka-San?” Chloe said as she reached Mr. Tanaka.
He turned to face her and she smiled, bowing. “Konichiwa.”
He bowed as well, and began to quickly respond in rapid paced Japanese.
Chloe giggled girlishly. “I’m sorry. I’ve used mentored Japanese vocabulary when I said hello.”
He smiled and nodded. “Well the gesture was greatly appreciated.” She reached for his shoulder when he turned to continue his conversation.
“Mr. Tanaka, I’m Chloe Sullivan, we met at the zoo benefit last year?”
He gave her a look that he clearly didn’t remember.
She giggled again. “Well of course you don’t remember me, but I just wanted you to know that I really look up to you, and I just wanted to say thank you for all of the charities you’ve given to.” She smiled sweetly at him. “Also, I was wondering if you would care to dance. I’ve heard the rumors of how wonderful you can dance.”
Tanaka smiled as he reached for her outstretched hand. “Who am I to deny such a beautiful young woman?”
They walked onto the dance floor, and went into an easy dance. Chloe could feel Lex burning a hole through them.
She smiled at Mr. Tanaka. “Tell me. Mr. Tanaka, how is it such a man your age manages to stay so young?”
He smiled as he turned in time with the music. “Your compliments are going to give me a large head.”
Chloe giggled again. “Giving compliments is one of my best traits.”
He nodded. “I can tell. It is mine as well. You are a wonderful dancer Ms. Sullivan.”
She smiled. “Why Thank you. But I actually wanted to ask you something if you don’t mind.”
He nodded. “Go right ahead my dear.”
She bit her lip. “I was wondering what were your reasons for denying giving Mr. Luthor his bid?”
He gave her a pleasant smile. “He knows what his fathers done, and I vowed to never trust another Luthor.”
She nodded in understanding. “I understand. Trust me I do, and I know how much a snake Lionel Luthor can be. But, don’t you think its wrong to blame Lex for something his father did?”
“For rarely are sons similar to their fathers,” He quoted. “Most are worse, and a few are better than their fathers.”
Chloe held in a sigh knowing she was clearly not getting anywhere. “One can easily judge the character of a person,” She quoted back. “By the way they treat people who can do nothing for them.”
Tanaka looked both surprised and impressed. “You read Chinese proverbs?”
She nodded with a smile. “Of course. I also know you are a man with great intelligence who passing up a great opportunity.”
His smile faded slightly. “Meaning?”
“Meaning Luthormed is set to make billions of dollars, and the products he sell for the drug companies alone will make millions. I don’t understand how a man with intelligence such as yourself will pass up on making millions because of a grudge from long ago.”
The song they were dancing to ended, and another started, but Chloe pulled away from him as he sighed resignedly.
He gave her a slight smile. “You’re very good Ms. Sullivan.” He reached for her arm, and together they walked back over toward Lex who stood there with an intense look on his face.
Lex kept his gaze on Tanaka as he spoke. “Chloe?”
“You are very lucky Mr. Luthor to have such a graceful, beautiful, and intelligent women in your presence,” Tanaka said, kissing Chloe’s hand. “I apologize for my discretion earlier, and I will accept your proposal. Have your secretary fax over the proper papers.” He bowed at Chloe. “Ms. Sullivan.”
She smiled and bowed back. “Mr. Tanaka.”
She watched him walk away for a moment before glancing at Lex who was staring at her with a stupefied expression. “What?”
He blinked, and opened his mouth before closing it shut again.
“Yes?” She urged.
“What did you say to him?”
She just smiled, wrapping her arms around his neck. “A lady never reveals her secrets.”
Lex still stared down at her in amazement and something else she couldn’t really name. “Do you have any idea what you’ve just done?” He asked softly.
She gave him a duh look. “Helped you get your bid?”
His eyes softened as he pulled her closer. They slowly began to sway to the music. “You are something else Chloe.”
She melted against him, resting her head against his chest. “In a good way or bad?” Her eyes fluttered closed as she felt his thumbs caressing her back.
His lips were next to her ear as he answered. “Definitely good.”
Chloe felt herself shiver. “Okay.” she whispered, tightening her hold on him. “Lex?”
His ran his large hands down her sides as he whispered huskily into her ear. “Lets get out of here Chloe.”
She felt a shiver run down her spine as she spoke quietly. “But, I didn’t even get my-Oh.” She said surprised when he pulled her closer against his body, and she felt his reason for wanting to leave against her stomach.
She pulled away so that she could look up at him, catching a glimpse of something deep, and hot in his eyes, but then it was gone because she had closed her eyes as his lips descended onto hers in a hot but short kiss.
“Lets go.” He breathed against her lips. He gripped her hand in his own, and pulled her toward the exit.
Chloe struggled to keep up with his fast pace, and if it wasn’t for his strong grip on her hand, she would’ve sure fallen flat on her face. She couldn’t believe it was finally going to happen. If she knew sealing a business deal was all it took for Lex to want to fuck her, she would’ve done it a long time ago.

Re: Startling Revelation *Updated 4-17-06 Chapter 9 (Part1) * (NC-17)
Yes! They are finally going to have sex! 'Bout damn time too. I loved everything in this part. I loved the shopping with Lois and the being 'Clarkized'. So does that meant that Chloe is becoming 'Lexized'? I love the party. Shame on Lex for leaving Chloe with those idiots, but good for her for telling them off. And she helped him with his deal, figures he'd find that hot but I suspect that's not the only reason he wants her. Good for Chloe, don't forget your anger with Lex, but use it as a means to punish him in bed.

I really love this chapter. And I was thinking the reason Lois wanted Chole and Lex out is because Clark is coming over with Chocolate sauce LOL.
