Forum Rules (Revised January 8th 2008)
Okay, I've gathered all the forum rules into one topic. It will be wise of you to read through the following rules. Failing to follow the rules will lead to increased warn level, moderation of all posts, account suspending and maybe even banning from the board.
Please also see important Forum Policies located in this forum.
FANFICTION
NO STORIES WITHOUT CHLEX WILL BE POSTED ON THIS MESSAGE BOARD. THESE STORIES WILL BE DELETED.- Put the rating in the topic title
- Put in a disclaimer in the first post. (May not seem such a big deal to you, but it is to us)
- Post your story in the right fanfiction category! If you do NOT post in the appropriate category, a moderator or admin has the right to move it without notifying you.
- You have to have a date present in the thread title stating when you last updated or if you're posting a new fanfiction, simply put the date of when you created it. Then the next time you come to add a new chapter, edit the thread title and put in the updated date.
ADDITION IN THE NC17 SECTION!
1. Stories where the majority of the plot will revolve around NC17 rated material/storyline are to be posted in the NC17 fanfiction section.
2. If your story only has less than three chapters with NC17 material, please post them elsewhere with a clear warning before the actual chapter(s).
3. For stories that gradually build up to NC-17 and have more than three chapters of NC-17 material, please post the story in the NC-17 section. If you add in NC-17 chapters later, and have posted your story in another category, contact a fanfiction moderator and he/she will move it for you.
4. For PWP (porn without plot) or short NC-17 material, please post it in the NC-17 section.
UPDATE ON SHORT STORY SECTION1. 2,500 words or less, whether it be in one post or a series of posts.
THE ARTS CATEGORY- If the picture is big in either kilobytes (kb) or pixels (px), either post a thumbnail or just a link. Don't mess up the tables, because it doesn't look good.
- Of a picture/art contains nudity, only a link will be posted and it has to have a warning saying this contains nudity. Some may be posted in the Blue Lounge (rated NC17), but it would be advised to ASK Julie BEFORE you post it!
- You will not use others artwork unless you can prove you have written permission from that person. If you catch someone using your art without permission, PM me and prove to me you own the original artwork and the other user will be banned. I will have no stealing of arts here!
THE BOOK CLUB
When wanting to discuss a book, start a new topic for it. If there already is a topic for the book you want to discuss, just post a reply in the appropriate thread. Threads on the same book will be merged.
MUSIC VIDEO POSTING (These are more guidelines...)
When posting a music video to the board, please add this to the first post:
Title:
Author: (Your name or nickname)
Summery:
Rating:
File size: (in MegaBytes)
Quality: Low, Medium, High
This is a rule though: - Post the url to the video file itself, or the page where the video is located. DO NOT just post the link to your main site. This goes as advertisement.
OVERALL FORUM RULES
1. Be civil towards other posters.
2. Back your opinions up with a reason (don't just say something suck, also give a reason as to why that sucks)
3. When a topic reaches 250, start a new one. A moderator/admin will close the old one and move it to the Graveyard (this rule does not apply in the fanfiction forum)
5. Don't start similiar topics if there is already one covering it. If we find topics like that, they will be merged (turned into one...)
6. A mod/admin has the right to move your topic without telling you beforehand if you posted in the wrong category.
7. A mod/admin has the right to delete/edit your post if it violates the forum rules.
8. NO shouting!
9. No messing up the tables, so don't post ~~~~~ in a too long row, break up your words, don't post pleasepleasepleaseplease f ex in a too long row.
10. As for fanfiction banner rules, you may post an image as large as you want as long as it DOESN'T stretch the tables and is bigger than 50kb in size.

Re: Forum Rules (revised Jan 18th 06!)
I have a question regarding the rules. If you're posting a banner that goes at the beginning of your fic, what is the size limit?

As long as it doesn't screw up the tables, and isn't bigger than 50kb in size, it's okay.

I see them too. I thought I was seeing things at first. Like I see dead people. I see numbers in parenthesis floating next to thread title. WOOOOO AWWWW.
What are those things?

They just showed up yesterday, and I was going to ask this morning about them as well. I actually spent about ten minutes trying to figure out what they meant, but I can't find the logic behind them. They don't seem to directly correlate to the length of a thread, the age of a thread, the number of replies to a thread, or the rating of a thread--although they occasionally seem to be affected by those kinds of things. Some threads don't even have a number. I can't figure out what else they might mean.

Zannie, woa! Talk about overanalyzing something :P
The numbers reflect the number of people who are subscribed to the thread ;)

Heheh. Ah ha! A simple explanation. If there's a mystery, I'll always analyze it until I get an explanation.
Thanks, Julie.

Re: Forum Rules (revised Jan 18th 06!)
Are we aloud to vent about Smallville, if it gets on our nerves? Like are we aloud to say it sucks, because the writters aren't doing what we want?

This isn't a censorship forum. Yes you can feel free to express your opinions as long as you respect other people's opinions as well. If you want to discuss SV and the happenings going on there are already several threads started. I am not going to list them here as there are too many to count. On the main forum page, the list of categories gives an indication of the content of the threads contained therein. You should be able to find sympathesizers in there.

I thought that was how many people rated the thread, before it hit five stars....*blush* But that is cool to know...when are we getting rep back?

Re: Forum Rules (revised Jan 18th 06!)
Mine and Ann's story 'Renegades' will include NC-17 themes in Old West settings. We put that rating to cover all the bases...but if it looks like it's not, then please let us know and we will change it! :) Thank you! :)

Aimee (tigerbaby) does most of the moderating on these boards, but the rules are that fics will be moved when/if they contain NC17 rated material :) If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask Aimee.

Re: Forum Rules (NC-17 section revised Apr 20th 06!)
How many are too many avatars to display at once in the Show Your Work art forum? I tend to get into these moods where I can't stop making them until I have a ton. I'm probably going to split them up, but I was wondering if there are any rules about that.
For info purposes I have 26 currently. I was going to split them into 3 different posts, separated by a day or more.

You may post more avatars than f.ex a regular art, because they're smaller. Just use your gut feeling on it :) Should it be too many, a moderator (most likely me) will just edit your post and send you a PM on it as there are no clear rules on avatar postings.
