Title: Kisses
Author: Blaire
Disclaimer: I don't own the show, hehe, well, maybe I own like the
paperweight on Lex's desk in two of the episodes but that's it.
Feedback: Sure, this isn't that good but I threw it together rather
quickly. But sure, just send the feedback to me.
A/N: This was Peggy's birthday present and it was only supposed to be the first chapter, and then someone had a pep talk with my muse and she gave in. So here goes.
"Kisses":
Chloe got her cup of coffee and placed a lid on it.
"So are we meeting later?"
Chloe walked backwards out of the Talon answering Pete. "Yeah, as
soon as I'm done at the torch I'll meet you back here at 7 and then
we'll leave." Pete nodded and she flashed a quick smile to all of her
friends before turning around.
She smacked into a hard body and the contents of her styrafoam cup
splashed down the man's shirt. her tightening the grip of her cup to
keep from dropping it had popped the lid off. She looked at the too
expensive deep purple shirt in front of her and the dark brown liquid
running down the front of it.
Her eyes met his and he stared back at her grimly. She raised her
hands to her mouth and let her cup fall to the floor at her feet,
everything happened to move in slow motion. "Oh, My, God, Lex." His
facial expression didn't change and he stood there as if he'd bat her
aside with the back of his hand at any second. She wiped at his shirt
with her hands, effectively running them over the firm muscles hidden
beneath his shirt. The excess liquid seemed to have come off, or
maybe she had just rubbed it in. She felt her face go a bright
crimson and his arms were held out at his sides. "Fucking terrific."
he said before turning around to go back out the door. She felt all
the eyes in The Talon turned to her. She glanced back at the gang at
the counter. Lana's hands were covering her mouth and Pete was
laughing hysterically applauding, and Clark, he seemed to be hiding a
smile but his hand was firmly planted on Lana's shoulder.
She turned to the door and ran out from the scrutinizing glare of all
the people. "Shit." she said loudly. She saw Lex's porsche pull out
from a space and she ran into the road to jump in front of him. he
slammed on his brakes a centimeter from her shins. She slapped her
hands down on the hood to steady herself and she saw a look of
wonderment cross Lex's face. She held up one hand motioning him to
stay there and she put the other over her chest to make sure her heart
was still beating. 'He almost hit me!' 'Yep...okay, strong and
steady heartbeat.' She made her way to Lex's window and he rolled it
down. She saw the dark dampness of where her beverage had spilled and
met his eyes. "I am so sorry, Lex." His face seemed to clear to
amusement. he cocked his head to one side. "For almost causing a
lawsuit by me hitting you or from soaking me in coffee. Or...are you
sorry that you spilled your caffeinated friend on me and now don't
have any for yourself."
"Hey, If I wanted the coffee bad enough I'd strip your shirt and wring
it out. And I was hoping you wouldn't hit me and yes, I'm sorry for
spilling a hot beverage on your very expensive silk shirt." He nodded
once and his mind hadn't passed the first comment she'd made.
His eyes met hers once again and he replied. "Get in."
She looked at him dumbly and then he smirked. "or, not."
She moved around the front of his car and opened the passenger side
door. She slid into the seat and the cool leather hit the back of her
legs where the denim skirt ended. She shifted and pulled her seatbelt
on. She looked up at him. "Where are we going?"
"My place." She nodded in agreement.
They didn't talk the whole way to the mansion and when they got there
he made no movement as to open her car door for her. She followed him
to the front door and he let himself in leaving the door wide open for
her. He turned around and looked at her as she quietly shut the door
until she heard it latch.
When she turned to him she ran into his chest once again. She stifled
a laughter and then let it rumble out of her. He stayed still and
looked down at her. "What?"
She patted his chest and didn't move away. "I think you have a magnet
in there or something."
"Or you could just watch where you're walking." he smirked at her but
not as friendly as it used to be.
"or maybe you shouldn't stand so close to me and i wouldn't walk into
you by simply turning around."
He shrugged. "Am I invading your bubble?"
She laughed and looked up at him. "My bubble?" he winced at her
mocking tone. "Jesus, Lex, you really need to start hanging out with
people your own age."
He stepped away from her tensely and turned around to start up the
stairs. She noticed that she may have hurt him but she figured it was
too late for an apology on that one. "I didn't mean it like that."
she clarified as she caught up with him on the stairs. " i just meant
that..." she honestly couldn't think of anything else to say when she
entered what could only be his bedroom.
"Jesus, Lex. This is georgeous." She spread her arms out wide and he
raised his head to look at her. He hovered over a drawer and pulled
out a gray shirt, not a dress shirt, just a long sleeve casual shirt.
He started unbuttoning his shirt as he made his way to an open door
which revealed a gleaming color of white when he turned the light on.
"Make yourself comfortable." he called from the bathroom. She eyed
him suspiciously from the door of the bathroom and met his gaze in the
mirror. His shirt was completely unbuttoned and he had started to
undo the cuffs. "Really?" she said in a low voice. He stared at her
for a second in the mirror and nodded slightly. "AAAAAAAHHHHHHH" she
screamed and kicked her shoes off. She jumped onto his bed and stood
up on it. She effectively sprung up and down walking across the
comforter. He stopped what he was doing and watched her from the
bathroom door. She noticed him and smiled brightly without stopping.
"You should soooooooo try this." She held her arms out to him and
stopped. He took his shirt off and pulled on the gray one making his
way to the bed.
"You are kidding right?" he stood at the side of the bed before she
walked over to stand in front of him a good three feet off the ground.
She leaned down and grabbed his hands. "Absolutely not." she said and
pulled on him urging him to join her. Reluctantly he got up on the
bed and she didn't let him go. She grinned wickedly at him and
bounced up and down lightly on her feet looking up at him. He felt a
smile pull at the corners of his mouth. "What about me socializing
with people my own age?"
She dropped his arms and reached her own arms above her head. She
walked gingerly around the edges of the bed. "Seeing as how the
maturing rate for female to male ratio goes, I'd say we're about on
the same level." He watched her and when she started to topple over
off the side of the bed he grabbed at her around the waist. Her
weight surprised him and she leaned back into him as to not fall off
only to have him fall over instead. He landed in the center of the
bed on his back and her back against his chest. "Nice catch." she
said as she sat up. He saw the skin on her back where her shirt rose
up and had the urge to reach out and feel it. She turned on him and
knelt beside him on the bed. he didn't move from his reclined
position. "Thanks. You know all those years of little league had to
pay off sooner or later." he smirked and this time it was the
friendly one. She let a smile wash over her face and leaned down to
kiss him. Just a friendly little peck on the lips. He stared up at
her as she returned to her upright position standing on the mattress.
She stepped over his body. When she did it for the fourth time he
caught her ankle and she fell on top of him.
She laughed and met his eyes. She propped her chin in her hands and
her elbows rest on Lex's chest. "Why'd you kiss me?" he asked
narrowing his eyes. She laughed again and put her head down on his
chest.
"Cuz."
"Cuz isn't an answer."
"I know but I like to keep ya guessing."
"So you aren't just going to tell me."
She shook her head and leaned her chin on his chest. "You have to
guess."
"I'm not good at guessing games." She brought one of his hands to her
mouth and kissed each finger tip. Then she did it with the other.
She trailed five more kisses up his arm as she pushed the material up
until it wouldn't go anymore. She brought the other arm to her and
trailed five more up it. "Have any guesses now?" He shook his head
and she smiled at him. "Are you sure?" he nodded.
She crawled up his body and straddled his waist. Her denim skirt
rising a little but not much, she knew for sure she wouldn't be able
to handle full contact with his body. She would have definitely caved
under pressure. She ran one hand down the side of his face and he
shuddered into it. She smiled at the sight of him beneath her and
lowered her mouth to his. "Well, then, let me give you a clue." He
nodded and his hands rose to her hair and pulled her down to him.
Their lips crushed into eachothers and she nibbled on his bottom lip
before kissing him full on the lips. His mouth parted and she licked
his lip intently. His hands let go of her and ran down her back under
her shirt. She pulled out of the kiss and disappointment was evident
on his face. She got off the bed and stood staring at him a smug
smile on her face. "So...was that a good enough hint?" He propped
himself on an elbow laying on his side. "I am still stumped, Miss
Sullivan." She sat down on the edge of the bed and leaned into him.
her lips brushed his ear lobe and her hot breath hit him hard. He
closed his eyes for a split second. "Happy Birthday, Lex." she said
before pulling away.
His eyes cleared a little. "What?"
"I said, Happy Birthday. 22 kisses."
"Ahhhhh." he said as understanding washed over him. "Got it."
She smiled at him and and stood again. "So why kisses?" he asked as
he followed suit and got off the bed.
"I didn't think you'd appreciate spankings, but, hey, if you're up for
it." He laughed out loud. Genuinely laughed, hard. She smiled and
turned.
"I have to get back to The Talon." He nodded and led her down the
stairs to the garage where they found the ferrarri. He opened her
door for her this time and she unlocked his door for him. He stared
at the gesture. He silently slid into his own seat.
When they got back to The Talon seven o clock just struck. She opened
her own door waving for him to sit back down. "I think I can handle it."
He smirked and she did that same. "Good Night, Lex."
He smiled at her this time. "you know, Chloe, if you ever want to
take the time out of your schedule so we could discuss this whole
spanking thing..."
She laughed and closed the door. When she leaned down to the window
his gaze fell upon her neck. "I'd love to." She turned and started
for the doors of The Talon. Lex grinned at himself. "God those
kisses were incredible. Happy Birthday to me." he added quietly.
He had never felt this light before and he welcomed it.
Chapter 2: Loveshack
Her hand touched the door and she turned around to see Lex waiting for
her to go inside. 'Perfect Gentleman.' she thought. On a whim she
turned back around and jogged up to his car. He rolled down the
window when she knocked on it and greeted her with a smile. "Ready so
soon?" obviously referring to the discussion of spanking. Chloe
flushed and grinned at him. "Actually I thought that maybe, if you
aren't doing anything, you'd want to come with us tonight?" It was
more of a question than a statement.
"What happened to me hanging out with my own age group?"
She nodded seeing his point. "Maybe you could see past my comment and
let it slip for just one night. Afterall it is your birthday." She
smiled at him and he fought not to smile back.
"I don't think Mr Ross would be pleased with the invitation."
She shrugged, "Pete hates you, but he likes me, I think I could work
something in there in your favor." She was now leaning inside the
car. "So what d'ya say?" He cut the car off and rolled up the window
making sure she was clear of any damage.
"I say, 'what the hell.'" He walked around to her. "So what are the
plans anyway?"
She grinned at him and he immediately regretted it. A gleam of
something bad flickered in her hazel eyes as she hooked her arm with
his. "Investigating."
They walked into the Talon arm in arm and the only ones there were
Clark and Lana with the exception of a few strays scattered about.
Lana looked at her and smiled. Noticing the contact the two shared
she smiled even harder. "Check it out. I see you two made up after
the spillage?"
Clark turned to look at them and grinned.
Chloe let go of Lex's arm and missed the contact, Lex slid onto a
barstool on the other side of Clark. "Where's Pete?" Chloe asked
instantaneously.
Clark shrugged, "something about not getting home in time and his mom
went AWOL on him."
Chloe snickered. "That sounds about right." She motioned to Lex.
"He's filling in then."
Clark and Lana both turned to look at Lex. He put his hands in front
of him. "You know how she is when she doesn't get her way...Wait.
What are we investigating?"
Chloe smiled again with that same spark adorning her irises. "The
Loveshack." she said slowly and drawn out.
Lana flashed a grin at Lex when he raised an eyebrow. "It's this
place in the woods and all the teens go there to make out. Well,
lately a lot of weird stuff has been happening..." "Surprise,
Surprise." Lex said interrupting her. Lana continued ignoring his
comment, "And Chloe thought it would be interesting to check it out."
"Full investigator mode kicking in?" Lex asked curtly.
Chloe nodded slightly and sipped on the coffee Lana had placed in
front of her. "So what are these so called 'weird things' that've
been going on?" Lex asked in a hushed voice.
Clark stared at Lana across the counter. "The most we know is that
when two people enter the Shack together, they have to be holding
hands and they fall in love. Someone said it was cursed, like by a
witch to make the man she loved fall in love with her. Except for
when you leave not holding hands the spell breaks."
Lex looked at him and then to Chloe. "So what happens when you leave
holding hands?"
Chloe shrugged, "No ones ever left together that we know of. So I
figured we walk in, now that we're back to an even number..." she
winked at Lex and he grinned, "And then we walk right back out."
"That's it?" Lex asked curiously, " you mean you don't want to stay
and see if it's true that you fall in love?"
Chloe shook her head. "No because by passing through the threshold
you will immediately fall in love, there's no reason to stay, and if
you are still in love, which theoretically I'm guessing will be the
outcome, if you leave still holding hands, then why bother?"
Lex shrugged and drank the last of his coffee. "Well, who's driving?"
he asked as he stood up.
"Me and Clark." Chloe said noncommitally.
Chloe and Clark stood up and Lana started playing music, signalling
for the others to leave also. They started filing out one by one and
Chloe left to get in her car. Lex appeared at her passenger door in
no time holding two cups of coffee. Setting one on the roof of the
car he opened the door and handed one inside to Chloe before getting
his off the car. He slid into the seat and buckled himself. Chloe
took a deep breath of the aroma wafting through her car. She let out
a light moan and Lex locked his eyes on her. "You okay?" he asked
with a slight smirk on his face. She exhaled slowly. "Coffee..." she
said and she smiled at him. "Thank you."
"Hell, you make that sound everytime I bring you coffee and you'll be
wired for life."
She laughed and patted his knee with her free hand. "I'll have to
remember that."
She watched the Talon waiting for Clark and Lana to come out. She
figured it'd be another five minutes or so with Lana locking up.
Lex looked at her hand that was still positioned on his knee. "Chloe,
about earlier..." "The kiss?" she asked cutting him off. He nodded
and took a sip of his coffee.
"What about it?" Chloe looked at him.
He thought carefully for a moment. "You didn't by chance 'feel'
anything did you?"
She grinned. "Why? Was I supposed to? because the night is still
young, Luthor."
He spit out his coffee realizing that she was talking about his
physical reaction to her. She laughed hard clutching the steering
wheel. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. "Okay, no more
drinking hot liquids around you."
She smiled and he rephrased the question. "I mean did it stir up
anything emotional inside of you."
She nodded a little and Clark and Lana exited at that time. She
watched them get in the truck and pull away. She mimicked the
movement. "Yeah, I mean, I felt like a little spark or whatever, why?"
"Does that happen with everyone you kiss?" Lex asked still staring at
her although her eyes were on the road in front of them.
"No-oo, why is it supposed to?" she asked sipping her coffee.
he shrugged. "Never happened to me before." he muttered before
drinking the rest of his coffee.
Chloe glanced over at him. "Huh..." she said as if a revelation was
just thrown at her. "So what was it then?"
He put his left hand on her leg and felt his bare skin against hers.
"Chemistry."
Chapter 3: Is a little old place where...
Clark and Lana pulled up in front of the Loveshack
first and closely behind were Chloe and Lex.
They all got out of their cars and stared ahead of
them. "My god, this place is creepy." Lana hooked her
arm with Clark. Lex walked around to stand beside
Chloe and put an arm over her shoulder. "You sure
about this?" he whispered beside her ear. "Never too
late to turn back."
She grinned up at him. "This is going to be great."
She moved out from under Lex's arm and grabbed his
hand. Their fingers intertwined as they moved closer
to the Shack. She glanced over her shoulder and saw
Clark and Lana, holding hands walking closely behind.
When they reached the door Chloe let out a sigh,
"Ready?"
Clark grunted something and Lana giggled. Lex
squeezed her hand with his in reassurance. Just as
Lex's hand went to the handle of the door Chloe
shrieked. "I almost forgot!" She fished around in
her bag obviosuly looking for something in the dark
and pulled out a condom. She handed it to Clark and
grinned. Lex laughed out loud. In the darkness she
could almost see Clark and Lana's faces glowing
brightly. "Just in case." she mumbled to them
fighting back the laughter. Lex took her hand in his
once again and looked down at her. "I've got us
covered." she said and he smirked. "Good to know." he
replied. He pulled open the door and they stood there
staring in. It was a completely empty shack except
for a few peices of furniture. there was a couch in
one corner and a few loveseats over on the other wall.
Bales of hay lined one wall and a set of stairs led
to the upstairs. Before crossing the threshold Chloe
ran through the directions with them.
"Okay, don't forget to hold hands while coming out. I
don't want to be sucked into another dimension or
anything so we're not staying long. If you find
yourself, ummm," she cleared her throat, "getting
'hormonal', try not to act on it, we don't want to do
anything we'll regret later." Her speech earned her
nods from all around. Lex grinned at her and pulled
her inside. They stared around them. "Huh." Chloe
said normally, "I don't feel any different." lex
shrugged and pulled her along. She let go of his hand
and made her way to the stairs. "Chloe..." Lex said
firmly before his voice trailed off. She turned to
look at him and saw he was staring at the entrance
where Clark and Lana were. A bright pink haze was
swirling around them and before Chloe could blink,
they were engulfed in a kiss. Lex looked at Chloe.
"Why didn't that happen to us?" Chloe laughed.
"Dissappointed much?"
Lex smiled suavely. "Well, aren't you?" he made his
way over to her slowly.
She shook her head no. "I don't need a spell to make
me want you." she covered her mouth with her hand
when she realized she had said it out loud. Lex had
reached her as she finished her sentence and stopped
in his tracks. "What?" he barely made out.
"Nothing, come on." she grabbed his hand and led him
up the stairs. Chloe gasped at the sight of carvings
in the walls. It was filled with hearts and initials,
insinuating all the lovers who had graced this shack
with their presence. Lex made his way over to the
wall and ran his hand over a heart. Chloe found a
refrigerator in a small corner and opened it. "Yum."
she said sarcastically. Lex came up behind her and
wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her back
into him. She felt his hard body pressed against hers
and shuddered at the heat of the initial contact. He
glanced over her shoulder and saw the curdled carton
of milk. Nothing else was in the fridge and Chloe let
the door slam hard. She turned to walk away and Lex
pushed her up against the fridge.
"Okay, stop, that's enough." She started to regain
her composure and he pinned her with his hands on
either sides of her head. "Lex, really, you're
scaring me." her eyes met his and the blue that swam
in his eyes had hints of a darker more sinister grey
in them. He leaned down and let his lips barely touch
hers. She leaned back against the fridge, a metal
handle digging into her back. "Stop, Lex." she made
her voice firmer.
His hands moved to her hips and pulled her flush with
his body. She felt him hard against her and melted
into his touch. Her hand traveled down his chest and
pulled his shirt out of his pants.
He kissed her harder this time his tongue running
along her bottom lip. She leaned forward and deepened
the kiss. Just as his hand was making its way up the
back of her shirt the open windows let in a blue
light. The shack seemed to glow to life and sirens
soon followed. She broke away from him and ran to the
window looking over the front. Two police cars pulled
up behind their cars and Chloe turned to look at Lex.
"We have company." she said and made her way down the
stairs, Lex closely following. As they reached the
bottom of the stairs Chloe stopped and Lex ran into
her throwing her off balance. As she was about to
topple off the step Lex grabbed her and pulled her
back up. Clark and Lana were making out on a bale of
hay as the police rushed into the shack.
*~*
The four of them sat in the cell looking at eachother
warily. Lana sat huddled close to Chloe and Lex sat
with his head in his hands beside her. Clark sat
across from them, every once in a while he'd steal a
glance at Lana.
"Well, that was uneventful." Chloe sighed. Lex put an
arm around her.
"Are you okay?" she held Lana's hand. Lana nodded her
eyes filling up with tears.
"I just can't believe...I mean, I feel so empty." Lana
managed to whisper.
None of them had left holding hands. All were
handcuffed and Lana and Chloe were put in the back of
one car and Clark and Lex in the other.
"Clark, are you okay?" Chloe stared at him. His face
registered a sorrowful look.
"No, I don't think so. I mean when we went in it was
like a rush and I felt so, needy, and then, now, I'm
just...like she said, I feel empty."
Chloe nodded not knowing what the hell they were
talking about. There hadn't been an effect on her and
Lex, well, maybe there had been, Lex had pretty much
came on to her and she knew she shouldn't have played
along with it, but as her mouth was saying no, her
whole body had been saying yes. Even with his arm
around her right now she wanted to jump him and scream
his name is pure pleasure. Of course, that would
never happen.
Lionel arrived at the police station an hour after
they had arrived. He berated Lex for hanging out with
a couple of teenagers and posted his bail.
Trespassing charges were being pressed on all of them.
Mr and Mrs Kent came and got Clark next followed by
Nell getting Lana. Chloe sat by herself in the cell.
Her dad was in Metropolis and she had called him and
left a message. When she dozed off she thought of the
reasons behind her and Lex not being affected. She
woke up to the sound of keys jangling.
"Chloe, oh my god, I'm so sorry!"
Lex pulled her tight in his arms.
"Huh?" Chloe said half in a daze.
"I forgot your dad was in Metropolis at the meeting
and when I remembered I rushed right over here to bail
you out."
Chloe nodded and hugged him back.
"Are you okay?"
Chloe nodded once more. "I just, I need my bed."
Lex led her to his car after picking up her personal
belongings. "I'm taking you home, okay?"
She nodded silently and watched the road in front of
them before nodding back off to sleep.
Chapter 4: Gabe lays the smack down (filler chapter)
Gabe sat on the couch and jumped at the sound of an engine and
headlights swimming through his front windows. He ran out the door to
the passenger door. Chloe was sound asleep and Gabe swung the door
open. She stared up at him groggily. "Chloe Sullivan, get your ass
in the house this instant." She nodded and kissed her dad on the
cheek before entering the house.
Gabe stared at Lex. "Do you have anything to say for yourself?"
Lex shook his head. The anger in Gabe's eyes flashed a silent warning.
"Good then you can follow suit, turn the damn car off and get your ass
in that house."
Without thinking Lex turned the key and the lights dimmed. He got out
of the car as Gabe slammed the passenger door and walked up the steps
to the house. 'What the hell am I doing? I didn't do anything wrong.'
Gabe's sudden surge of parenting had brought Lex to
'do-not-talk-back-to-me-young-man' lectures. Lex sat beside Chloe on
the couch. She firmly had her hands on a cup of coffee and brought it
to her lips. Her dad walked in the kitchen and poured himself a cup.
"Lex?" Gabe held up a mug. Lex nodded slowly. "Yes, Please."
Gabe returned to them and sat in a kitchen chair facing them. Lex
held his mug in his hands and refused to look at Gabe or Chloe. His
eyes remained fixed on the black liquid that swam in his cup.
"Well..start talking."
Chloe looked up at him and then at Lex. Lex looked up at Gabe and
then at Chloe.
"NOW!" Gabe roared. "One of you owes me an explanation. I just sped
a good 40 over the speed limit when I got your message so someone
better talk!" his voice still loud, echoing in the stillness of the
house. Chloe's eyes teared up and a drop ran down her face. She
stood her ground though and wasn't backing off. Lex admired her. She
managed to get her emotions across without appearing weak. Her father
leaned forward and put a hand on her knee. "Chloe, tell me what
happened."
"Ummm, well, there was this rumor about a shack in the woods and I
thought it would make a good story. I talked Lex into going with me
and Clark and Lana and when we got there I started snooping around
before the cops came. They arrested us for trespassing and then put
us in jail which is where I called you from. But then Lex remembered
sending you to Metropolis so he came back and bailed me out and then
brought me home." She took a deep breath and settled back against the
couch.
Gabe looked at Lex. "And you were an innocent bystander?"
Lex nodded, "I know it's hard to believe, and although it didn't take
much convincing, but I wish I could take the blame."
Chloe shook her head.
"Do you two realize the danger you four were in? You, Miss Chloe, are
grounded. You are to turn your laptop in to me and your phone. Those
two seem to be the things that put you in the most trouble. In two
weeks you can have them back."
Chloe let a few more tears fall down her face and nodded silently.
Lex sighed at the sight of her crying and wanted so badly to put his
arms around her.
"And you, young man." Gabe said firmly and Lex met his eyes. "You
are grounded from seeing my daughter. You are not to call her, email
her, visit her here, or anywhere else. Two weeks, do you understand?"
Lex stared at him in disbelief. "You're grounding me? Did you forget
that I'm your..." "Boss." Gabe finished for him.
"No, Lex, I haven't. Did you forget that you visited a place called
the 'Love Shack' with my daughter? My very young daughter. While I
trust her judgement in people, and I hold nothing against you, I think
it would be best for both of you to take a little time off from
whatever you have going on between you two. I may be her father, and
I may be an old man who isn't in touch with today's youth, but I know
my daughter and I can sense this 'thing' between you two. I don't
know how long it's been going on but for the next two weeks it will be
put on pause. After that time is up we will sit down and talk about
this like adults. Are we all clear?"
Lex nodded silently and Chloe replied, "Yes sir." Lex's mouth opened
before he could think about it and replied, "Yes sir" hoping it was
the right answer.
Gabe walked Lex to the door after Lex had placed a small kiss on
Chloe's forhead. He stood in the doorway as Lex made his way down the
porch to his car. "Do you love her?"
Lex spun on his heel and his eyes narrowed at Gabe. "Would it make
any difference?"
Gabe shook his head, "Probably not, but it would be reassuring. Lex,
I won't hold your past against you, I can't keep you two apart but I
can sure as hell kill you if you hurt her."
Lex stood at the driver's side of his car. "You know, Mr. Sullivan,
while I admire your parenting skills there was one thing you forgot to
inquire either of us about."
Gabe stared at Lex expectantly. When he hadn't answered Gabe sighed.
"And what would that be?"
"You didn't even ask if we were dating, which we aren't, or if we are
together, which we aren't. Chloe took me with her out of pity. It
was my birthday yesterday, no one seemed to notice, no one said
anything about it. Chloe knew and since she had plans to go out, she
invited me along. It was as simple as that. Yes, I like your
daughter, and yes, if we should start dating my intentions would be
more than honorable. But, seeing as how she probably doesn't think of
me that way, I don't see you having to worry."
He slid into the drivers seat and the engine roared to life. He
pulled out of the driveway and made his way home.

A/N Pt 2: Okay, the night they went to the Love Shack was Friday.
Lex didn't come to get Chloe until early Saturday morning so when she
got home it was very early in the AM when Gabe lectured them. Now
that I have the time tables up...here ya go.
-------------------
Chapter 5: We can get together...
Saturday was her day to sleep in. Her father hadn't talked to her
since Lex left and she hadn't heard the altercation in the front yard,
she had chosen to ignore it. When she woke up she saw her alarm clock
flashing 3:00. She turned in her bed before grabbing a book and
walking down the stairs. She sat on the couch and turned on the lamp
nearby. 'I am up at 3 am in the morning, I spent the night in jail, I
just found out I like Lex, a lot, and I'm grounded.' She sighed as
random thoughts slid through her mind. After a few hours of reading
and ignoring her brain she went upstairs to take a shower.
When she got out Gabe stood at the bottom of the stairs. "You coming
to the fair?"
Ahh, it was Sunday and the first day of the Official Smallville County
Fair. She had promised she'd meet the gang there last week. "Can I
go?" she asked unsure.
"Yes, you can go. Honey, I took away your phone and your laptop, not
your social life."
'...and Lex. You took away Lex, too.' she thought realizing that it
bothered her much more than it should have. It would only be for two
weeks. "Yea, let me get dressed and I'll be right down."
"I'm meeting Mr Kent, so why don't you just go ahead and drive
yourself?"
"Kay, thanks dad, see ya in a few." she hollered down and heard the
door slam. Her dad had never been big on punishments. Since moving
here from Metropolis and blaming him for taking her away from all her
friends, the one thing he never grounded her from was people. He'd
take away her c.d.'s, her phone priviledges, her car, but never the
right to hang out with her friends.
She threw on a bright blue vneck tshirt and a pair of basic jeans.
She combed her hair with her fingers as she made her way downstairs.
Grabbing the keys from the counter she locked up the house and headed
out. 'To the fair I go.'
*~*
When she parked her car she noticed that every single person in this
gor for saken town must be at the fair. When she reached the ticket
booth after what seemed like a ten mile hike she paid for a roll of
tickets and entered the gate. She quickly found Clark at the booth
with his mom. As she approached him he smiled widely at her. "hey,
Chloe." His mom looked up and smiled.
"Hi Clark, Mrs. Kent."
Clark came around to her and hugged her, "I'm gonna go ride some
rides." he called over his shoulder and his mom nodded, "Have fun."
Chloe stared up at him and his arm draped over her shoulder. "You
didn't get in trouble, did you?" she asked accusingly.
"Nope."
"That's so not fair, I got grounded. My dad took away my laptop and
my cell. And then he grounded Lex." she let a slight giggle out.
Clark laughed. "He did what? He grounded Lex?"
She nodded and he steered her in the direction of a small wooden
rollercoaster weaving back and forth under the pressure of the riders.
"So what'd he take away from Lex?"
"Me." she sighed.
Clark shut his mouth immediately. "So what has you in such a good
mood, Clark?"
He grinned down at her, "I talked to Lana and we're going out on a
date tonight."
Chloe smiled and broke away from his arms. She jumped at him and
hugged him tight throwing her arms around his neck. "Congratulations!"
He hugged her back. "I wasn't sure if you'd be okay with it, but I'm
glad you are."
Her face turned serious and she let go of him. "Clark, you do know
that what I felt for you in the past is just that, right? In the past."
Clark nodded, "I was hoping you'd say that." As they passed by a tent
Clark noticed a figure and was about to say something when they put a
finger up to their mouth, signaling for him not to say anything. He
nodded slightly and kept walking with Chloe. "So the ferris wheel
huh?" she asked him and just as he was about to answer back two strong
hands grabbed her from behind, one over her mouth and the other around
her waist. She was lifted off the ground and pulled into a hard body
with her feet kicking out from under her. Seeing the look on Clark's
face as amusement she stopped struggling and was taken behind a tent.
When the strong hands let go of her she whirled around and punched
him hard in the stomach. "Shit, Chloe." the voice sputtered out. She
looked at him through watery eyes. "Lex?" she said in a whispered
voice.
"Jesus, Lex, don't do that shit to me!" She playfully hit him on his
arm before wrapping her arms around his waist. "I didn't hurt you,
did I?"
"A little bruising for the ego does a body good." he said wincing a
little.
"Well, your ego must be bruised often because that body of yours..."
her voice trailed off as she smiled up to him and found him returning
the gesture. Clark peeked behind the tent. "I'm gonna go find Lana.
You kiddies behave."
Chloe nodded in his general direction and Lex grinned down at her.
"You do know that I don't intend to behave, right?"
She smiled at him and kissed him softly on his lips. "I didn't even
know that word existed in the Luthor Dictionary."
He drew her into a hug. "Want to go somewhere more private?"
She nodded against his chest.
"Good, come on." He took her hand and led her through a thick
settlement of trees that ran along the backside of the tent.

"Kisses":
