Lex sat bent over his newspaper, so engrossed in the crossword he didn’t notice Chloe Sullivan reading over his shoulder, “another word for *badly behaved*” he murmured. “Naughty” breathed Chloe into his ear.
Lex turned quickly, “excuse me” he said.
“Naughty” said Chloe as she sat down opposite him, “the answer to your clue. I’m sorry I didn’t mean to intrude.”
“Oh yes, the answer, and no you haven’t intruded.” ‘You could never intrude,’ he thought.
“Never pegged you for doing a crossword Lex.”
“I find them stimulating for the mind,” came his reply, “are you a fan Chloe.”
“Oh Lex I’m a fan of *all* things stimulating,” she replied coyly. ‘And when did I become the flirt queen,’ she thought.
“I must keep that in mind,” he smirked, “so want to help me finish the crossword.”
Chloe nodded as she took a sip of her latte.
“Right, next clue, *breathless* 7 letters.”
Chloe thought for a moment, “panting”, and grinned at him.
He grinned back, and moved to the next clue. “*Insinuation, maybe be sexual*, 8 letters.” He looked directly at her.
Chloe could feel the heat rise in her cheeks, and bent her head slightly, “Innuendo” she said, looking at him through her lashes.
“You are good at these Chloe, want *more*?”
“Bring it on.”
Lex smiled, “*interaction* 11 letters.” He knew the answers he just wanted to see how much she’d play.
He watched as Chloe silently counted out a word on her finger, before looking at him, smirking and saying, “intercourse”.
Lex just smiled, “ok Chloe this is the last one. *Peak, pinnacle* 6 letters.”
Chloe leaned over the table until she was eye to eye with Lex, licked her lips and whispered, “climax”, and then sat back down again.
Lex let out a breath he hadn’t realised he’d been holding, and managed to flash his infamous smirk at Chloe.
“Well I must say Chloe that this has been very stimulating,” as he began to get up, “but I must be off now. I look forward to more puzzles with you in the future.”
As he neared the door Chloe called after him, “Lex,” he turned to her, “Twister is very good for stimulating body as well as mind.”
Lex laughed as he left the Beanery and she could still hear him laugh and he got into his car.
